My story, names and numbers are exactly to the "T" as what you are claiming.  I have informed my job as well.  It is so stressful they are so ignorant.  I will be using the tactic of secret service and Federal Trade Commission the next time they call.  This is insane.

You are right - this Peter Thompson was very persistent and threatened to speak to my supervisor and have me arrested on 3 charges of fraud. I laughed at him and told him to stop scamming people- but that didn't deter him.. I hung up on him and he continued to call until I told him the secret service was on the line. I have indeed reported these type calls to Federal trade commission and the secret service. Seems they are using internet phones and are probably located out of the states. This is a scam that is hard to nail down. Just suggest to everyone please do not fill out online applications that send your info to so called lenders- and when they ask you verify your info tell them it is incorrect and hang up and report it to federal trade commission and secret service. He even had the nerve to leave a message on my phone and say have a blessed day.

This number has called me several times. Sometimes it shows up on caller id with the number and Amoco Co and sometimes it shows up as unknown. The person with an accent asked me to hold while he connected me to his supervisor, then another man wifh an accent came on said his name was Peter Thompson and he is with CFI, Currency Fraud Inverstigations Departent out of Chicago, IL and he was calling because I have an online loan from cashnetUSA that I didn't repay. He said accordnig to his file there were 3 criminal complaints against me and the loan was for $400 and that if I would make arrangments to pay it today the total fees, loan amount and penalties was $890. He said if I didn't make arrangments to pay it and it went through court the total would be $7445 and I would have to pay it in full on the day of court. I told him I wanted to know the date of the loan and need documentation so I could verify I received the loan and owe the debt. He got upset and said I am telling you, you received the loan and owe the debt. He claimed they had tried to contact me through my e-mail and got no response. He said his paperwork only stated that the loan was in 2012 and got very upset when I asked for the exact date and more information. He said that the year and amount was all he had and how could he give me information he didn't have. He said he needed to know right now what I intented to do about the debt and I told him I would not agree to pay it until I could verify that I received it. He got irate almost to the point of yelling at me on the phone. I asked him for the number he was calling from and he said I could get it from my caller id. I told him my caller id said unknown and he gave me the 312-812-8200 number. I asked him for the physical address of the location he was calling from and he said his company did not allow him to give out personal information. He kept insisting that I make arrangements to pay the $890 today and said that each day, each week and each month more fees would be added and that if I did not make the arrangements now it would be doubled if I tried to do it later. Then he said again he needed to know what I was going to do about it and that if I wasn't going to pay it now it would be sent through the couirt. I told him again that I wasn't going to agree to pay it unitl I could verify that I owed it. I told him that I had called cashnetUSA when I had received another call like this and that they said I didn't have a loan from them and did not owe them any monty. He said they wouldn't have a record of it because once it came to their office it would not be on the customer service computer anymore. I told him I wasn't going to agree to pay it unless I could verify it again. He got upset and said he didn't want to talk to me any more about it that he would call me supervisor and the payroll department of the corporation I work for and that it would not be his fault when I lost my job. I have talked with my supervisor about another place that called me like this and he told me to tell them the company policy is that I can not have personel phone calls at work and not to call me between the hours of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m central time and that once I knew it was a scam not to answer calls from that number during working hours or on my work cell phone any more. I told Mr. Thompson that my supervisor told me to tell him I could not have personel calls at work and not to call me between the hours of 8 a.m .- 5 p.m., central time, Monday - Friday and that my supervisor said not to answer if he called again. He got very upset and told me to be prepared to answer back to back phone calls because they would just keep calling until I paid them.
I had someone call me a few months ago and say they were calling from the financial department at cashnetUSA and that I owed. I have never gotten a loan from cashnetUSA so I told him I would need to verify that I had received the loan before I would agree to pay. I went to the cashnetUSA site and called the number listed and explained to the person who answered my call what was going on, he looked up my information on the computer and told me that I was denied a loan from them in February of 2012 and did not owe them any money and not to pay it that is was a scam.
After I hung up from talking to Mr. Thompson I went to the cashnetUSA web site and called the toll free number for their collections department. I told the gentleman who answered my call what was going on and told him I didn't think I had ever gotten a loan from them but I wanted to make sure. He looked up my information and told me that I had never gotten and loan from them and did not owe them any money.
I have received several calls from 312-912-8200 and from unknown and have not answered them. They called about 40 times yesterday and have called 4 times today.
I did let my supervisor's assisant know that this was happening again so if they did call over there they would be aware of what was going on.
I know how these people have gotten my information, I was in a tight spot and my grandson needed surgery 3 hours away from me and i needed to be there with him but did not have the money to go so I filled out an on-line loan application, you have to give them all your information before they will process your request. I filled out all the information and after I hit submit a disclaimer came up that said they were not a lender but were submitting my information to their bank of lenders to find me the best loan. These scammer set up fake lending sites and get your information, then wait a year or two and call you claiming you got a loan and use the name of acual lenders to try to scare you into paying them. I have had about 15 of them call me in the 8 months like this. I just wish I knew how to make them stop. I will never be stupid enough to fill out one of these online things again and neither should anyone else.
