I received an unwanted call from 313-203-8198 - showed up as ACS

You get woke up early in the morning after seating up all night with a mother who has cancer and alzheimers then you can see how scams like this effect good people. We give to the cancer fund and even walk for cancer then to have some scammers call and LIE . I dint care if they have to make a living do it the right way. By the way I was a telemarketer that is how I paid my way threw school  It was a good company They are out there. I have reported them to several agencies DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WILL HELP.

Stop calling me

A female and a male called from this number, and when I told them they could not speak to my Father, they became rude and I hung up. They call every day, and I finally said I was calling the police and report them, they still called back again. Why can't they be stopped? My Father is 73 years old, and he is not dumb, he knows a scam when he hears one. They will not take NO for an answer, and I am tired of them harrassing my Father. Isn't there some place we can call and get them put out of business or at least get them legally reported? This is sad that they try to scam people and under the assumption of needing donations for the Cancer Society. This is really pathetic.

Get calls all the time from this number even though I'm on the do not call list.  Says "ACS" in the caller ID...no doubt it's a scam as ACS doesn't take phone donations ... or so I've heard.

Have received several phone calls from this number.  ACS on the caller ID,  I finally answered and the caller
gave a legitimate sounding request. He told me that he was going to mail a pledge card and I agreed to pledge $10.00,  He then transferred me to a woman to verify my address.  She asked me for my debit or credit card for the donation.  When I explained that I agreed to mailing the donation in , and I don't do credit or debit cards over the phone, she promplty hung up....Needless to say if (and i doubt it) a card comes in the mail, I won't be sending a donation.  This is obviously a scam.  I hope they call again as I am prepared to waste there time.

I get calls from this number 5 - 6 times a day. I know it`s a scam but how do I stop it.

These calls are annoying.  I am on the Do Not Call Registry.  Guess I will try and turn this number in as harassing.

I have not answered because I FELT it was a scam of some sort......ONLY because THEY have called so many times in a row. WHO DOES THAT??? What made your stick out was after Google-ing the number and looking up this link, YOURS said something about them calling all the time....BACK IN JUNE!! It is CRAZY and is horrible for these scum bags to use a problem such as Cancer "which hits home for me cause of my lil brother dying at age 9". He fought for his lil life from 5 on....and lost his battle at 9 yrs old. So when ppl do these things....it makes me SOOOO upset! Thanks for commenting. I wonder...have u completely stopped getting calls from the "ACS"???

American Cancer Society again.....won't stop calling.

Just got call from 313-203-8198...no msg left, they've called several tims

Same experience as the rest of the folks in the post.  Anyone have an idea on how to make them stop?

Received several calls from this, but no messages.  June 20, 2012 they called just after 8 am.

answered the phone and no one said anything on the other end. This has to be a call that is no good.

This number has been calling me about five times a day. I usually ignore it, but when I do answer to give them a piece of my mind they hang up as soon as I say hello. Not a very good scam if you hang up without asking for money....just my opinion. But seriously, how would one go about getting these callers to stop?

Someone calling EVERY NIGHT....NOT waiting for anyone to answer.  When that number is called back, no one answers.  What is going on?  No message left...cannot reach that number when it is called back. ???????????

I received these calls, and I took the advice of Waldo and called CMC TELECOM, INC., at their corporate headquarters.

That number is 1-866-262-7283.

I spoke with a VERY nice lady, who took my report.  You will have to give them your phone number where the call came in, as well as the number and name (ACS) that shows up on your caller ID.

If you will do this, they can block these people from calling you again.

She also admitted that they (CMC Telecom) are receiving numerous complaints about these people every day.

It IS a scam - the American Cancer Society says they have NO affiliation with them, and for anyone who receives a call from this number to report it to them and to CMC Telecom IMMEDIATELY.

I have received several calls from this number (313-203-8189) in just the past 2 or 3 days...and my caller ID also says "ACS" when they call. At first, I thought it was coming from a local business with the same name, "ACS", but they aren't the type of business that would be calling people for any reason. Everytime it goes to my voicemail, all I hear is loud background noise and inaudible voices talking then they hang up and leave no message. So I looked it up today and what do ya' know....people all over are complaining about the exact same number and similar experiences with the voicemails.

OMG another call from some one it some company i do not care to speak too.plzzzzz make them stop!!!!

ACS popped up on my television screen and I picked my phone up out of concern!! When I picked up I heard a man's voice say something like "go ahead" then in her phony voice she asked to speak to "mrs" M which is my boyfriend's last name and we're not married!!! So from that alone I was weary and. Said she isn't home and she said ok Mr M or Mrs M is not home and I replied NO and he hung Up!! I felt it was sum sort of Scam!! SMDH

They called my husband this am and when he said my wife will speak to you - they hung up.

Upon checking the internet I found that the consensus is that these are scammers.

The American Cancer Society does not solicit by phone.

How can this be turned over to telephone fraud?

Asked if they were with the BBB, and asked to send information to us and we'd look into and get back.  WE WERE TOLD TO HAVE A NICE DAY AND HUNG UP ON!!  Makes you think??????

That same number called  and rang my house phone several times thru out the day with no answer. Very Annoyed !!

this is a auto number calling and then when you call it back, a lady is nice but states she just get the call out of the blue and the phone company won't fix the error???
