Write our Congress and Senate. We need CRIMINAL penalties against the companies that are profiting from these calls. Follow the money, slap them in jail, no one left to outsource to overseas boiler rooms, problem solved.
Since they are operating across borders it should become a federal felony and should be handled by the FBI under the RICO Act.

How it works:

We need CRIMINAL penalties against the companies that are profiting from these calls. Follow the money, slap them in jail, no one left to outsource to overseas boiler rooms, problem solved.
Since they are operating across borders it should become a federal felony and should be handled by the FBI under the RICO Act.
These calls are coming from call centers in Costa Rica and India and they are using spoofed (false)
numbers, which in itself is illegal. They do cold calling for or sell the leads to numerous companies in
this country and they know that what they are doing is illegal. Tomorrow this same number may be selling Cruises, Timeshares or Security Systems but if you follow the money it usually ends up in the hands of an American LLC. Keep complaining to the FTC and FCC, and start bugging our politicians to pass laws to make it punishable in criminal court instead of handing out fines that they don't pay. Another course of action is to contact phone companies to find out why they won't block spoofed numbers. With today's technology that should be an easy thing to do, unless they are somehow profiting from the use of their systems.
Robocalls are illegal unless you have given them prior permission in writing (not worded into some small
print contract from a 3rd party) and are absolutely illegal to a cell phone. The Telephone Consumer
Protection Act permits individuals who have received certain unlawful telemarketing, such as junk faxes
or telemarketing calls, to sue the violator in state courts where they may be awarded up to $1500 for
each violation.

People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office and also file with:
http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
If enough people keep complaining then maybe something will get done.
The FTC has already taken action against some of them however they just pay a small fine and are back at the same scam the next day:

I will say it again, we need CRIMINAL penalties against the companies that are profiting from these
calls. Follow the money, slap them in jail, no one left to outsource to overseas boiler rooms, problem
solved. Since they are operating across borders it should become a federal felony and should be handled by the FBI under the RICO Act.

I have started blowing whistles in their ears. Quite loudly I must say. Maybe when enough of them have hearing problems, they will get the message.

I'm on the do not call list, but Ithink it is a waste. This is another credit card service call. I don't think the Fed Gov. wants to stop these calls or they would have by now.

Charlie 2012-04-27 19:00:43 Unknown
Received an unsolicted robo-call saying that "this is your last chance to get a lower interest rate..." I have not signed up for any credit checks or anything of the sort for more than 6 years.
Science K 2012-04-27 17:43:32 Unknown
Continue to get these calls. I don't have bad credit and don't want calls from unknown callers. Thank you for your asssistance.
Lynne 2012-04-27 13:10:59 Unknown
I've been receiving calls from this number for the past week. When I told them this was a business phone and asked them to remove my number from their database, the woman said, "Sorry, its not my problem!" and hung up on me. This is harassment and I'm filing a complaint with the FCC.

If they call on a landline on some systems you can dial *57 which traces the call even on blocked body numbers. You have to file a police report and give them the case number so they will release the info to the police. Think it works on Verizon. Not sure about others.

They call me daily claiming to be "member services" from my credit card and want to lower my interest rates. I am on do not call list. I finally got one of them to give me a web site and it is www.upsni.com
Please report them to www.donotcall.gov like I did.
Melissa Doyle 2012-04-26 20:41:20 Unknown
I hate these stupid calls. I don't have credit card bills so I don't need your service.
Linda 2012-04-25 21:16:18 Unknown
I have excellent credit and don't want this company burning my cell minutes. stop calling me please
dan tang 2012-04-25 21:04:57 Unknown
i don not know this person and the number 3132041037
Rita 2012-04-25 20:26:20 Unknown
Yes I started getting these calls after I signed up for Credit Monitoring from either CitiCards or Privacy Guard. I called to complain and they said they don't give our info to third party. Load of crap b/c that is the only place I have given my cell # for up to date monitoring activity. Really no way of stopping calls from them b/c they keep switching to new number every week. I just don't pick up calls if I don't recognize the number. Let it go straight to VM. It's very frustrating. Good Luck :)

Jessica 2012-04-19 22:59:10 Unknown
I've done that twice already!! They keep calling me and I've gotten calls from 4 different phone numbers all from the same company!! I hate them!!

Got another phone call (1:23pm) from an out-of-state number that I didn't "know" or recognize.
(Does this mean that they are involved in Interstate Fraud?)
They, of course, left no message.
As always, I didn't answer, but looked up the number here.
I am on the National Do-Not-Call List, and have been for over a year now.
(I guess this is our government at work for us.)
I'm going to
http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
AND to
https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
and see if that can get the government to work for me, and stop these calls.
(Yes I will go through all those steps.) [I have also bookmarked these URL's.]
We should all pile on.
nope 2012-04-17 23:10:47 Unknown
No didn't sign up for anything. I'm up to 30 blocked numbers and they're all tied together.
Annette 2012-04-17 21:43:34 Unknown
I get calls from this number many times a day and I wish I could stop it somehow.
campohellfire 2012-04-17 19:28:35 Unknown
I have not signed up for anything and Amazon and ebay have my cell phone number. I have no credit cards my home is paid for, for over 10 years all I have is a car payment! I am on the national do not call list and I file complaints against these companys EVERY DAY but the same numbers keep calling me! When I tell them that I have no credit cards they hang up and they never take my phone number off their list as I will get more calls every hour from the same number! What good is the do not call list if they never bust these companies???
MANOLO 2012-04-17 17:18:51 Unknown
SAME EXPIRIENCE AS ANYONE ELSE CALL AND HANG UP
Christopher Bradley 2012-04-16 21:46:25 Unknown
If you try to tell them to stop calling, they hang up before you can finish the sentence. If you ask who they are, they hang up without answering. BUT THEN THEY KEEP CALLING BACK OVER AND OVER.
This has got to be against the spirit of the law, if not the letter of the law.
Ray 2012-04-13 22:17:15 Unknown
Don't call the FCC they can't do anything, call the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) #1-866-653-4261
