Who is making these calls?

Rec'd call from "Officer John Harris", Watkins Law Firm, same MO.  Pending law suit, filing in 2 days, unless call returned.  Wanted return call to 313-451-6553.  Heavy Middle Eastern accent.  Any John Harris calling from Michigan would sound like a Michigander.

Told me there was a lawsuit against me.  This is a scam.

Same one called me and tried to do the same thing.  It is getting frustrating, especially calling my work number.

I received a call today from this number on my cell and work number.  The man claimed that there was a lawsuit against my SSN and what did i want to do about it.   I told him that i was not aware of any lawsuit and to send me a copy of the documents. He said that i would not receive any but he would read it to me. I told him that was not good enough.  He said that if i did not pay $700 they would send paper work to the sheriff department in my town and my job.  I told him to go right ahead but he kept asking if  i wanted to settle it right now.   I have been receiving calls like this from over 30 different numbers from a man or men with a thick middle eastern accent.  They get very ugly with you when you refuse to talk with them or give them any money.  They have tied up all the phone lines at my place of employment for about 30 minutes on two occasions.  It has to be something that can be done about this...   This is very annoying a frustrating.

WARNING! Today we had an identity fraud situation here at home. The morning started out with someone calling Carl and saying that he was being sued for money laundering. They verified his social security number, place of employment and his previous address.....when my room mate asked how they got that information the guy was ugly and made a nasty comment and hung up. The only thing that my room mate has signed up for in NC was his Verizon account. I called the number and the guy wouldnt tell me who he was and hung up on me. We went to the local police, they did NOTHING. No report, nothing. I received a notification that someone in Turkey was trying to access my google account....apparently they were trying to get me now. Later I got an automated message saying my bank account had been frozen and I needed to follow prompts to reactivate my account. I hung up and called my bank...IT WAS A HOAX. They were trying to get more personal information. My bank confirmed that my account is fine and I had them flag any unusual activity. Verizon is the only link between me and Carl. Once they have your phone number, they will keep calling from different numbers and harassing you trying to get you to send money....this a***ole kept calling me over and over just to rattle me. It worked. I lost my cool and was shaking and screaming in public over my phone. These people are also sending out notifications that they are from Microsoft and you have a virus on your computer and they can fix for you for $8, they want your credit card and phone information, DO NOT GIVE IT. If you do not know the number, DO NOT ANSWER IT. If someone threatens you over the phone, google it, you can find out if it is a fraudulent number. Most are internet numbers from Skype and Google and they reroute the phones all over the country. I got calls supposedly from Michigan and Indiana...same guy. BE AWARE. AUTOMATED CALLS ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED IN NC PER THE STATESVILLE POLICE DEPT. IF SOMEONE SAYS THEY ARE SUING YOU, TRYING TO GET MONEY OR INFORMATION, SAY NO AND HANG UP. IF THEY ALREADY HAVE YOUR INFO, DENY IT!!!!! TELL THEM THAT IS NOT RIGHT AND HANG UP. REPORT TO YOUR PHONE COMPANY AND BLOCK THE NUMBER. I am not kidding, this is what I spent most of my day dealing with. BE AWARE. Protect yourself and share this! The numbers that called me were 1-618-465-8085, 1-313-451-6553,1-607-739-9799 and 1-707-822-9870. ALL the same guy with a thick middle eastern accent!
