it is a scam ive worked for april for 4 months and nothing i quit bcuz i was held at gunpoint on one of her trips april is a s**t and had no concern for my safety she accused me of stealing her money ive witnessed her f****ng an employee on the floor of our htoel room ive even babysitted her damn dog jimbo

i just love how they act as if they are this huge comapny when in fact they are gypsi caravan ...lol

Now they are calling from  3144736268 .. and the name is April from "AMERICAN"!! she said that this position is for "office manager" and i need to do all kind of admin work like scheduling interviews , opening - closing the office... etc etc.. i was asked to come for an interview on very next day.
i got a bit suspicious when she refused to send any mail from her official mail id. good to know that these are nothing but scams!! thanks to all of you guys!! u saved quite a time of mine :)

This same place, American, has a new number now.  Had the interview, yesterday, 2nd one is today, which i'm not going, considering, the whole atmosphere and how everything was like, yesterday, didn't seem right at all. I, myself, was scammed like this before, and the script they said was very very close to one that i fell for before.  I wouldn't be surprised, if they are looking this stuff up now to improve their scamming.  but, to get to the point, their new number is 314-473-6268.  Another thing they mentioned, was about trying to get locations in Illinois.  They mentioned this to tell me what i want to hear, considering I'm an Illinois residence.  They are still in that itty bitty place on that same address of 8213 gravois. But now they just call themselves, "American".

I received a phone call from "Bobby" and she asked me to come in yesterday for an interview. She told me to make sure I am there 5 minutes early. Told me the address for the car sales business across the street, and said there will be a "blue sports car" out front of their building. Before we hung up, she asked if I would be able to start next Monday. I went there yesterday and had my first interview. Thought it was fishy, when their neon sign had the "American" part but the rest of the neon on sign looked like it was taken off. The sign wasn't lit which I thought was kinda fishy. I went in for my "first" interview. Everything sounded to go to be true. He told me they had around 40 people they did or had to interview yesterday. He said they were a "10 million dollar" company and had businesses all over St.Louis and they just opened the office where the interview was being held. If they were a "10 million dollar" company, first they would have a better/bigger building than that, second they would have a bigger sign, that actually worked, and third they would have an "ADDRESS" besides their neighbors across the street. He told me, I would make $700/week and roughly $30,000-$40,000/year. My interview last 30 minutes and he told me to call "April" at 5 that evening to find out if I was one of the top ten that was picked to come in for a "second" interview. I called "April" and she talked so fast. She told me to come in today for a "Second" interview, I needed to bring a pen and paper to take notes, and the interview will take around 2 hours. "Bobby" called me at 10 this morning and left a message "confirming" the interview and reminding me what to bring and telling me to be there 5 minutes early. Well needless to say, I didn't go to the interview. I am glad I found this last night before I went to the interview today, possibly gotten hired, and quit my other job for this SCAM! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!

I even gave up a shift at my bar to go to a second interview tomorrow. I feel like an idiot I'm really glad I have started researching companies before quitting my current job. I would cuss her out too but obviously she isn't going to stop doing what she is doing since this has been going on for a year or so now. Same address same magicjack. In fact she didn't even give me her buildings address I got the address to the car sales place across the street. I won't be going to that interview but now I'm missing out on money because I already gave up my shift. How frustrating.

Same company but different number and name. I received a call from APRIL, she called from 314-768-0152, when she answered the phone she answered saying "American, how may I help you". I instantly recognized her voice. I actually went on an interview with her 2 years ago and was uncomfortable in the interview. She was in an office where the receptionist was answering phones for a different company and when I went into the office with April, there was just a phone and desk, no file cabinet or computer. When I left the interview she said to call her back for the decision but I never did, and ended up seeing her a week later working at Subway. So today she called me at 2pm and said she needed to interview me right away by 4:15pm the latest because they needed to hire someone by Monday. When I returned her call she put me on hold because she needed to get my resume but later in the call she asked me to spell my name so she can give it to reception, but if you have my resume you should know how to spell my name. When I asked for the address she didn't give it to me but instead gave me the directions but of course I found out the address by research which 8213 Gravios Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63123 which is listed to April Greenwood. Very shaky, I'm not going to this interview, please be careful everyone.

My girl friend replied to the job posting on craigslist, two days later April was calling to set up an interview scheduled for 30 minutes from the time of the call. Anyways she went in for the interview, messy office, she said it looked like they had just moved in.(But they had been there for a year) I've never heard of the company American except American Furniture, and I KNOW they aren't doing too well. They called me Monday wanting me to come in tuesday and I found this site and did not go and they have called me 10 times since!!!! The are still using "American" and the # is 314-768-0152......this is just low especially with the economy now days and everyone down on luck!

They called me from (314) 768-0152. I spoke with April, then Tad, then Sherry Marie. They said their name was American. They ask if you're good with people, if you own a car, if you can work Monday through Friday 9-5 and if you can start immediately. It sounded fishy to me since I had been contacted by 3 different people (they first called at 5:30 p.m. last week asking if I could be at their location for an interview in 30 minutes in rush hour traffic 45 minutes from me). They advised that they are "right across the street from 8214 Gravois Rd" and that their location doesn't appear on GPS. They remind you to bring a hard copy of your resume and business professional attire (who applying for an office job would wear anything else OR forget their resume). I am glad I found this site and thought I would update with the number they used for my call.

So I interviewed with this company about a year ago when they were calling themselves "Worldwide Enterprises". I went through the group interview, which consisted of 30 minutes of watching a movie completely unrelated to the job and the two trainers cursing throughout the whole thing. I didn't call back as instructed but they did call me. I told them I wasn't interested.

Then, today Chris called me from "American" asking me to come in for an interview for an Office Manager position. I cancelled my doctor's appointment and started rushing around to get ready and in the process I luckily had a lightbulb go off. I did a little research and found this page. I decided to call Chris back and have a chat with him. Same company. I was furious!

I received a call stating the same thing as in the other let's I was about to get up and try to find a sitter and get dressed up in less than a hour but after I looked them up I got multiple companies for this address but when I went in -depth I ended up here so I'm not going and hopefully this will help someone else

yep, got the same call today from the 768-0097, did the interview, and was told the same info.  totally bogus.  I just reported them to Fox 2 News as well.  DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM

WOW.. I can't believe this... Yes, KRISTEN and APRIL are the names... The phone number is 314-768-0097 and its off Gravois Rd.... How can you hire for a position that is office manager yet expect people to go out and sell the product.. HELLO? I'm not a salesperson, I have office experience and want to work in an office.. I actually made it through the 2 interviews and went to the orientation. At the end of it she wanted us to sell the product to friends and family and if we did we would get a bonus and "promotion" the next day... Such b***s***, that means she will just hand you a box of it, drop you off in a parking lot and say SELL!!!  Bi*** is full of motivation! She is motivated to F*** people over!!!  WOW! Cant believe I almost wasted my time and energy!

I THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! I was interviewed wednesday and my 2nd interview was yesterday with April .. It all seemed a little fishy because no one could give me the right directions and said if i used my GPS it would lead me to a dead end. I accepted the job even though i live 45mins away from Gravois and was about to quit my job today until i read this! & everybody statement is SO 1,000% True ! I thank god for telling me to look up this company. Now im back to a minium wage job and still job hunting smh !

This place called me for an interview for the office manager position. The number I was to call back was 314-768-0097 a woman named Kristen. As I am on the phone with her I mentioned the perfume, and parking lot sales as listed by all of you. I asked her if the office off of Gravois is the office I will be working it as it is an hour or more from my home. She said oh no this is our training office we are calling you for our Illinois office. So I ask where it is and she states it isnt open yet. I say ok so where is the building that isnt open located? She still wouldnt tell me and then asked if I was coming to my interview at 4:30 that she called me at 2pm for??..who does that?..I am not going to the interview and as I spoke to this woman she couldnt and wouldnt tell me anything about the "office" I was to be working in total scam! Address I was given was 8209 gravois suite B phone number listed above!..BEWARE!!!

Thank you guys so much for the information. I got a call yesterday and asked could I come in that day. I told them no because I had finals but I would come in today. I went in early to check the place out so I wouldn't be lost for my 10:30am interview (its 9am now) and as everyone stated I seen a sign in the door for the address 8205 Gravois when the address I was given was 8209 Gravois. It looked like an unorganized business. I seen one woman with a pink paper in her hand a little kid in the window. I did a u-turn to make sure it was the right place and indeed it was. The woman came outside and was prancing around with another woman who was smoking outside. It looked very unprofessional. So I came home to google the company with the address and here I am. I am soooooo thankful that you guys gave me the heads up. I will be calling the number back today advising them to lose my resume and I'm reporting them to the BBB.

You are the only one talking good about this company but yet you didn't say really anything positive about American, American Advantage, or World Wide, whatever the company's name is that they want to call themselves today.  Answer this, if this is a legitimate company why do they not have a website? They are suppose to be a world wide company tho!  And legally, how are they not going to pay for training? Not legal to pay under the table, but again they are a world wide company.  All I can say is this all smells fishy and I am calling the BBB tomorrow.

I just got "hired" by this company. Things seemed fishy along the way. They tell you you are going to have an office manager position after their 60 to 90 day training period, which they hope you can do faster than 90 days because they have "so many offices to open and people to train!" Their business has apparently doubled over the past year! They're losing business left and right! B***S***. This "training period" requires you to sell their fake perfume in f****n parking lots. Going to the "orientation" tomorrow and ripping these people new a***oles.

Ignore the gutter w***e April who tries to reel you in to an interview. This "VICE PRESIDENT" looks like shes been on a 5 day crack binge, somebody threw her in Dot's clearance bin, then pasted Dollar General make-up all over her face. It's an interesting look for someone who makes "so much money" every year. Threads hanging off her skin tight suit, boobs so big and fake I wonder how she doesn't accidentally suffocate herself while sleeping.

I worked for this company for about a week. It was called worldwide somewhere in gravois.  I found the ad in craigslist.  they said they were looking for a office manager no experience necessary.  Well I emailed them my resume.  A few days later I get a call back from a lady named Jaime to come in for an interview.  I came in for an interview the next day. I show up, do the interview, and she liked me enough to tell me to come in for a second interview.  I did that as well.  well to make a long story short, I was hired.  I show up the first day for the orientation.  The lady named Jenny talked about perfume, the company, etc.  They promised upon successful completion of the training program you will get your office.  I wonder how many actually finish to get their own office?  I had to quit after one week in the program because I didn't have enough money to take the bus to get out that far.  I traveled very far on bus for 2 hrs each day to get out there because I thought I had something good.  This was back in Jan when all this happened.  YES, THEY ARE A SCAM.  Even some of the other trainees were behaving as scammers too. There was one young lady who would lie to people about the perfume she was selling them.  For example, the young lady tried to sell someone on the street a bottle of Britney spears perfume, but, the lady didn't like that type of perfume.  she said she liked sex in the city.  So the seller lied and told her that she has some sex in the city.  she went back to her trunk and put the britney spears bottle into another carton and came back to the lady on the street and told her she had the sex in the city perfume.  The lady on the street bought it for about 20 dollars. So, not only are the "owners sammers, but sometimes the trainees can be scammers too.

This company is a perfect example of what's wrong with our country. Preying on the desperate. Total scam. I spoke with Connie and April. I experienced the exact same setting as described in these posts. I have real management experience and something just didn't seem right about the position. I'm glad I took the time to look into them. I wish I would have done it before ever going but these are desperate times. I will be calling BBB tomorrow. I just went to my second interview today.  I was told to be there at noon with a pen and notebook and that it would last about two hours.  I had the pleasure of listening to April's raspy voice.  I also got to talk to Connie as well.  The address for the place is 8205 Gravois Rd in St. Louis, MO and the number that they are having you call back to see if you got the job is 314-499-4304 and it is April that you talk to.  This is a scam and it honestly hurts because I have applied to over a hundred (literally) places and this is one of the places that called me back.  Heed the warnings about this place...AMERICAN and they deal with Perfume.
