I just got a call and it went to voicemail but the caller hung up without leaving a messge.

Received the following voice mail:
A man said his name was Brian.  He said that I am paying too much on interest and he had a great rate that I have been preapproved for and that this was my best bet, and that this would be his last courtesy call.  He said to call him back at 888-442-0881.
He left this message on my 15 year old son's cell phone.  It is a verizon line.

My daughter just received a call from this number, during school.  She is a minor and her teacher called me to let me know about the call. My daughter did not answer it and they didnt leave a voicemail. I trierd calling the number back but receive an odd "busy tone" after a couple of rings. Who is this nutjob??? Calling children in the middle of the day, halfway across the country!

I got a call from this number as well. No message was left. Tried calling it back and got a message saying the number was no longer in service.

A guy said Hi then silence...

Got two calls from 314-869-9408 - no voice mail just hang ups

got  a call from this # today said my name then a busy signal when i called it back it said the number had been disconnected but from ready these sounds like only females are being calles

Called at 3pm.
Brief silence, then guy said Hello. I answered back then he hung up. Second call like this today.

Same number called me today on my cell, A guy said Hi then silence...

I live in TX, and I got the call a few days back at 1:41 pm Central US time. I didn't pick it up but I did get a very weird - and short - voicemail. It was a male voice that said "eight-one," "take one" or maybe even "leave one." It was a bit unclear what he said. Not very effective communication.

I got a call from this number at 9:10am on 3 feb 2010. It is showing up from Ladue, Mo.  A person said hello and then the call dropped.  I called it back and it is either busy or a recording says it is a disconnnected number. Anyone have some info on this?

Just called the company that leaves that 888 number. They are scaming by using a regular number trying to get people to pick up on their cell phones.  It is another telemarketing ploy to reach on your cell phone without getting in trouble.  All cell numbers are on the do not call list and I would call these guys out on it if they call you! It sounds like something the federal trade commision would like to hear about.

got a call on my cablevision voicemail number (which I hardly ever use) same nonsense "Brian" calling me as if we were friends or something.  just another telemarketer scam.  wish there was a way to get back at them.

Got a call from 314-869-9408 at approximately 11:10 am CST on 2/3/10.  Because I do not  answer calls from unknown numbers, I pressed the "ignore" area of my screen and the call went to voicemail.  On voicemail, a man said his name was Brian; that this was my best bet, and that this would be his last courtesy call.  He left an 888 callback number.  These other calls may be unrelated:  for 3 weekdays in a row, I received a call from a number not shown.  My caller ID read "unavailable", which is different from "blocked".  The caller did not leave voicemail.

Same call, same message from Louisville KY.  Has to be a scam of some sort as we did not initiate any dealings with him either!  Funny thing is, it was left on Feb 3rd as well.

we should forward these scam phone ( fake by voip 573-763-5937, 573-764-9311, 314-869-9408 and thier real number 888-442-0881 ) their name Jessie Paulmeyer 207 S Market ST Charmos MO 65024 ) to our beloved Senator and Congressman to see what they can do when they answer these phones which we pay dearly on cell phone , our money!!!!!I hope they working hard

SAME THING!   I rec'd a message this am at 9:08 AM, and the guy is already talking.  I'm thinking, what an idiot, leaving a message for someone else and not knowing how to wait for the beep before talking.  I'm not calling him back, but I'm really annoyed.

Same thing for me yesterday:  hello and he's gone.  I called the number today and a seemingly elderly lady stated, "we're sorry.  the number you have reached has been disconnected.  please check your number and try again."  She didn't sound like an operator.

It is some kind of a scam. Received call on 02-03-10 at 2:37PM. Did not answer. Friend of mine who has a pay as you go phone lost 40 minutes of time on 02-01-10 when he answered this number. If you have ATT, Sprint, etc, It would not hurt to check your bills now, before you find yourself possibly fighting a charge later when you receive your monthly statement.

Got same voicemail to call them back regarding lowering my credit card rate, they said spoke with me before, I dont plan to return call, believe is some kind of telemarketing.

Yeah had the same voice mail. during the middle of school
i dont even make monthly payments for christ sakes im in highschool
and my cell number should not be public access to these a***ole companies.

Wife recieved a call on cell phone from this number.  Message said something about credit cards and only paying minimum payment and left a 888 number to call back.  My wife did not.  I call the 314 number when I got home and received what seemed like a fake message that phone number was disconnected or not operational.

Got the same call - last courtesy call, lower interest rate because it looks like I was only paying a minimum payment (which is not true on anything), glad I looked it up and saw it was a scam....

I got this call too. I dont have ATT. Left a voicemail. Asked to call back about credit cards.

got the call about 1 oclock this afternoon im in wisconsin and i have cellcom service i didnt answer but i tried to call back and the same happened to me phone number disconected

Just got a call from this number. No voice on the other end. Disconnected almost immediately. My guess is that this is a machine calling random numbers to verify if a person answers. If someone answers, their number goes on a list of potential clients. If straight to voicemail, the calling machine leaves the message. Ought to be illegal, but probably isnt...

I'm AT & T and got the call at 3:28 this afternoon. I didn't answer it.

Just got the same message.  Called on my google voice number, and I got the following transscript emailed to me.

Hey guys, It's Bryan Stevenson again and we spoke last week on the phone regarding possibly lowering your interest rates and reducing your monthly payments on your credit card. I want to let you know I did find a solution here. The program that we've got can lower those interest rates to as low as 1.5% and possibly cut your monthly payment in half, then since you were only making the minimum payments. This is just be a great opportunity here for you. This will be the last courtesy call that I will make so please give me a ring today. You can reach me here at 1(888) 442-0881 again that is toll free at 1(888) 442-0881.

I'm sure It is a total scam, since I did not talk to him the previous week.  I listed the call as spam on the google voice service. I just hope I don't get a call on my other numbers.


It did make me realize how good of a transcript Google Voice provides though.

I just posted on here about getting a call. Well right after I posted I checked my phone and I had a voicemail from a Brian Stevens. Telling me about how he found a solution to lower my interest rate. He left an 800 number to call him back. Said this would be his last curteousy call. Wow.

numbers. I have an iPhone and it tells where the persons number is from and it said Ladue, MO.
