Same thing happened to me too..it's a scam don't give them any of your information..don't confirm/verify anything they say..threaten to get your attorney. They wouldn't repeat their company name for me, it was american loan or something ii didn't catch the name based out of NY..they said call back in 30min get money from whomever you can and call back it's time sensitive

This Brad called me and said I would be arrested for 3 pending charges from another state and that he needed me to pay 3000 dollars immediately I started laughing because I have never been arrested for anything. This Brad is a scam artist do not listen to  him I have this guy blocked numerous times from other numbers 6 months ago. Do not bother with him just hangup and report him to your phone carrier.

Got a horrible threatening message from this no. Name mentioned sounded like Brad.

Ignore them...they are scammers.  Sometimes it is fun to call them back and play along and act all Cheech and Chong with them.

these people called me and I asked for everything in writing and they wouldn't give it or send me anything....but threaten to come on my job and arrest me...saying I owe money

I received a call from this number and a guy named Brad,kept saying I owe a payday loan and I tried to get them to send me this aLL in paperwork on this and couldn't do it.threathen to come on my job and arrest me,wanting me to contact mt lawyer.....and would leave me leave voice mails and threaten phone calls and on voice mails wish me death..... a way to do business

They called my work!  Said they were from the NY Attorney Generals office and I would have a legal matter placed in the courts against my social security number on Monday.  Ask who my attorney was, I told him I wanted a request in writing - he hung up on me.  

This number keeps calling me leaving threatening voice mails. I have no idea who they are and they are very aggressive. They clain to be from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Law Services in Albany New York. The man has a heavy accent and claims his name is Ryan Taylor.

Called me at work.  When he found out he has called a law firm he hung up.  Told him I would be reporting him to the FBI

I filed a grant application @newusafunding.com and received a call from U.S.A. financial resources stating I had be approved for a grant, he stated to me if i put $3.87 on a card that they would set me up with an on-line account so,  me and  some of my volunters decided that it could be a good chance for us to possible get funding for some fundraisers and                     (see exhibit 001)   so we put money on our card the next thing we know i'm getting calls about every  4 days or so, as time went on we got more calls telling us we had been approved, each one wanted 29.95 when I applied but when they called the next day it was always $3.87 they wanted put on a card within a couple hours of the time i had received the  call . i finally was told that i was a, member, and had been added to a data base and had access to a web page that would help me along the way,, after about 4 months I received a call from (315) -282-5848 ; Informing me that a had been charged with fraud , because they didn't believe i intended to pay the pay day loans of that i had been applying for, I had applied for any payday loans that i had been applying for grants and funding ,and the people that signed me up said I had qualifed for grants that where interest  free and that they were grants i didn't have to pay back, then he told me i was being charged with fraud and money laundrey I told him that it was i good thing that i had been making calls to people about  scams . because i thought something was fishy about all the calls i had been getting so  the next morning i get a call from am portland number concerning the same things that number is 877-744-2061, so called usanew. funding and she told me not to worry about it thjat they were trying to scam me,,so I got on line and found a place called  Charitable activities section and filled a complaint with them also and made to forma;l complaints to them ,,, there number is 971-673-1880,  and i also called the numbers that had been calling me to see what happened,, most didn't go through and the ones that did said they had nothing to do with the calls to me about the charges so if you can please look into this and let me know what you find out send email to highriskgroup101@yahoo.com thanks for you time .. have a good day

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Unbelievably unethical scam artists. This company was sending me emails as "ACS Legal" and "ACE" to which I replied - do not send your scam emails to me again. This was a month ago and the emails stopped. Now they are calling and leaving voicemails on my cell phone and my work phone. This is harrassment, especially in calling my work line.They write and / or read the same stupid message repeatedly. They did this before, I ignored tham, and they stopped. I won't call them back because I don't want them to think I will respond (that will just keep them coming back for more).

Yes these people have called me also.  They have called me on a Federal Government phone, so this call can be tracked.  If this was legitamate, NO legal person or attorney would call anyone.  They would send a letter in the mail, and if you did not answer, they would send a notice through the law enforcement to your door.
These scammers need to be stopped.

This number just called me at 10am hst and said i needed to call now if not good luck. Omg i work for a school bus company if i even am a felony i wouldnt be able to work around kiss what a dum u know what.

I received a phone call like this today.  The person's name was Ryan Taylor and he had an Indian accent.  He told me that there were 3 criminal lawsuits in my name and asked did I have a criminal attorney. I asked what was it about and he didn't say.  He tried to verify my last four of my social security number and my email address.  I told him it was not me.  I asked again what was this about and because he couldn't verify that it was me he hung up.  I later called back and asked for an address.  He asked why did I need their address.  I said so that my attorney can send them some paperwork.  He hung up.

Yes, they are a scam.  They called me today from this number saying that there were three lawsuits against me in my state and that I needed a criminal lawyer.  These people have called me from other numbers saying things like I owe for a loan.  They tried to get me to pay them through some greendot card at WalMart.

This guy just left me a message saying it was regarding a legal matter and he needs to hear from me it my attorney or all he can say is hood luck

This number left a message threatening a lawsuit and if I or my appointed attorney did not contact them "good luck".  They really think this is going to work?  They cannot take you to court until a complaint has been filed and you've been served court papers to appear.  If you talk to these people get their name and the company they represent and threaten to counter sue for harassment I think they will hang up.

its a total scam I have been called before they won't call back or send any papers by mail....they are lying I ignore them add there number to reject list on your phone and they will stop calling

They called me and left a message.  I called back and asked for their address and name of the company, Jay told me 675 3rd Ave Ny, Ny 10017 (Which is a Bank of America Branch) and he worked for an attorney Mark Rothman and Associates.  He then told me I was wasting his time and hung up.  I called back to speak with his manager and he said he was the manager, I then asked to speak to Mark Rothman and he said no, that I can wait for my papers.  Total scam and I will call them everyday to give him the same dose!

This number calls me at least 10 to 12 times a day and leaved a long voice mail and at the end says good luck Ive called and asked who they are and they say we will tell you when you identify your self with your full social security number I tell them no and then the same s*** we know where you are you will receive a knock at your door shortly from the police and they will take you

I just got this call too.  They said if I don't call or my attorney calls they wish me luck.  I knew from the threatning way he spoke it was a scam.  I had applied for a payday loan over the internet over a month ago and I'm so MAD at myself for doing it.  I didn't go through with it but my email address is now out there for scammers knowing I was looking for a loan.  I feel so much better getting on here to check out the number.  Thanks!

This is definitely a scam they want to scare you into buying a money pack card and sending them loads of money that you will not be able to get back. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT SEND MONEY. I received same call and new right away. C'mon Indian guy named Brad with foreign accent. They buy an untraceable cell phone call to scare you into giving them your information and sending money to them. Best you could do is ignore them or get as much information out of them and report them.
