when they call I just send it to the fax they hang up quick.

I was just reading the December 2013 AARP Bulletin and came upon this article of great interest concerning these aggravating phone calls from robot calling systems especially the Card Services - lower interest rate calls - which persist from many different numbers - too many to block at my ISP (Internet Service Provider) which provides my phone service.

The free service simply involves having any call to my number ring simultaneously at the nomorobo site as well and they determine in the first ring if it is a robocall. If it is determined that it is a robocall they simply answer and hang up terminating the call - no more ringing at my end. You do hear the first ring so don?t pick up on the first ring. If the call is legitimate they will not pick up and your phone will continue to ring as normal. Remember legitimate calls include all charity and cancer organizations.

I signed up and have recently received a ?one ring? call which was this (206) 397-1895 number - bang - it was terminated with just the one ring - GOOD STUFF!. I have run out of numbers (just 32 numbers I am able to block at Optimum-Cablevision) so I must delete numbers to add new numbers to be blocked so now the previously blocked numbers are then able to call me again - yuck!

Recorded message about lowering your electric bill.  Caller ID said "Help Center."

I wanted to know who it was also so I called back.  I couldn't get an actual person but I did press 1 to be added to their do not call list.  It's been a couple of days and it did work to stop the calls.

Didn't pick up. It's actually NCO Financial in Syracuse-Utica, NY.

Caller ID says "Help Center." I never answer these calls. Stopped after two rings. Just ignore them.

Even though I'm on the "Do Not Call" list, this company has been calling each time from a different number on the average of two to three time each week for the past two years.
They are relentless.
I don't even know if "Power Choice" is the actual name of the company being represented.
These people are scammers, so watch out!

This is a call about "electric rate reduction". These people are relentless and devious. They use rolling numbers like 315-285-9932 , 9921, etc etc. When they first called using 9931, I had the number blocked.  Undaunted, they call now from 9921. If I block that, guess what...? I really hate these people. They could be giving me electricity free and I would turn it down.

called and would not hang up. emitted a sound in the range of 18 to 20 kHz or thereabouts.
same sound an ibex makes but THIS WAS NO IBEX.

Don't have any info, just came here to see what their major problem was.....they just got blocked out of my life...ah bien!
