Caller ID indicates 285-9931 originates from Clayton, NY. They've been calling two to three times per day for 10 days. No message is left. Creepy.

This is the fourth call I got from those bums AFTER I filed a complaint with the FCC!!!! If someone could supply a street address for these bums, perhaps the situation can be corrected. Obviously the FCC is a joke and filing complaints is useless.

This number calls me several times a day and never leaves a message. I'm so sick of it, especially because they ALWAYS seem to call during my daughter's nap time. I've registered on the Do Not Call List, but apparently that does nothing to keep these creeps from calling your house all day long.

These idiots called me did not say anything so I breathed very heavy and they hung up.  I guess they didn't like that hope they call again going to make it sound like I'm having phone x with them lol.

call the number back... a recorded message will ask you to press 1... allow 48 hours for it to stop.

I did the same! Let's see if it works. However, there was no identity as to who I was calling.

Did you find anything out? I have about 20 different numbers that call numerous times a day. I can't even get thru a real phone call without them beeping in. Starts first thing in the morning till 9 at night. Really, what can you do besides report them, it will never be resolved anyway. Is your "crew" available for some more outings? LOL, I can give you a list.

These type calls will never stop until people TAKE ACTION.  This site here is merely a sounding board for people to vent and identify scam telemarketing callers.  There is no authority associated with this site to stop the calls.
The DO NOT CALL list is worthless, they take no action.

My LG phone allows me to block any number not in my directory - a NICE feature.

You  can avoid a lot of these f__king morons. Buy a Panasonic phone. They have a feature on them that allows you to block up to 30 phone numbers. I bought 1. It has stopped a lot of these idiots. If they call. Your phone will ring 1 time and then all the caller will hear is a busy signal.

this number called 8/20/13 - Left unintelligible message ( or at least some part of one ) caller id says HELP CENTER - never give out any kind of personal information to anyone on any unsolicated phone call -they just want to scam the unwary -be your own best defense and always treat these types of calls as scammers

The Fed do not call list does nothing. I have simply stopped answering my phone.

   The number is located in Clayton, New York.  msg regarding lower electric rates. Its exchange 285 is managed by LEVEL 3 COMMUNICATIONS, LLC -.The number is currently on switch number SYRCNYSWDS3 (switch is a technical specification for phone hobbyists) .   Around 50% of people reported it as "Unknown"   Choice One Communications - land line.  
 Going to Clayton next week with my crew.  Will locate.

They keep calling. Do not know number or anyone from the area. Get annoying after a bit.

Apparently complaining to FCC was just wasted time and effort. What I would really like to to is find out the office, home and cell numbers of these creeps. put their numbers on sites like this and encourage everyone to give those bums a taste of their own medicine!

Dirtbags called, I didn`t pick up. I did file a complaint with the fcc. Apparently complaining to the Feds is useless.
People like this should be caught, tried, convict  and sent on a one way trip to North Korea or Cuba !

They call but don't leave A message

This caller from telephone number (315) 285-9931 has been calling my home at least two times per day for two weeks, and he or she NEVER leaves a message on my answering device. One of the calls came as late as 8:45 pm. It is extremely nerve-wracking to have to put up with this harassment with no chance for resolution of this problem. You can't even find out from whitepages.com WHO or WHAT ORGANIZATION is making ALL THESE ANNOYING PHONE CALLS. I made the mistake of being placed on the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST - obviously, it was just another ploy by our INTRUSIVE GOVERNMENT to gather more personal information, because they really don't do anything about these UNWANTED, CHRONIC-CALLING, INTRUSIVE people who have no right to FORCE themselves into our homes, via our personal telephones, for which we monthly foot the bill.

Now im i victim of the harrassment, comes up 1-315-285-9931 or 9941. They hang up on you. Horrible and should be outlawed! Can put sign on my door No Soliciting, what do I put on my PHONE!!! nothing works to stop them. Should all be charged with harrassment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have been getting calls from this number.  Few weeks ago, a news item on our local news advised viewers that this was a scam.  Block 'em.

And NOW, when they SELL your number to the other Telemarketers (TM's), they can get more $$ for it 'cause 1) it's a working #; 2) a REAL person will answer; 3) the person WILL talk to them (and the longer they can keep you on the line, the more $$$ they get for your #); and 4) the person that answered has VERIFIED all this by actually physically pressing '1'.
  These are the same reasons that the DNC list is a farce. All the TM's have to do is 'pose' as a survey, and, after they talk you into answering a few stupid questions, they can proceed with their original scam by offering you a "discount on a great offer" as a reward for taking part in their bogus "survey", which usually ends in Identity Theft (yours).  What's worse is, it's Required by our government that all TM's keep this list, keep it up-to-date, and abide by the rules. The DNC list is a perfect resource for the bogus TM's because it's verified active, by the government and you! Even if you don't buy anything, your # is still worth $$ to them. Also, they change their #'s all the time, so you can't keep them blocked for very long.
  The only ones who CAN put a stop to this crap are OUR government officials, and they haven't done ANYthing Effective to prevent these scammers yet, so don't hold your breath expecting this administration do ANYthing about it.
  SO, Good Luck. You just signed your number onto the TM Call List just by pressing '1', ... just because THEY told you to.

I tried calling the number back, and it said to press 1 if I wanted to be removed from their call list. That it would take 48 hours to process. Probably did it in vain, but I pressed 1.

Called me  - was recorded message - hung up after first few words-some nonsense about electric bill too high!Smelled a rat, looked em up here and followed guitars advice filed complaint with FCC. Thanks guitar.
