Got a call from (315)410-9237 he says his name is Jonathan Adams and his secretaries name is Jennifer.  He says that I should have received a package at my home or work in regards to a case filed against me.  I believe he has changed his name and secretaries name this time around.  I keep their voice mails so that I can turn it over to Attorney General.  These people go to great lenghts to scam people and they will scare you into it.  Don't buy it.  You need to ask them to give you information they supposedly have on you and that you will contact the people that turned it over to them.  They usually hang up right away.  They are LOOSERS!!!!

Faith, report the activity to http://www.ic3.gov.  Look at their website you will see the payday/your gonna be arrest scam there.  If you dont report it they will never be stopped.  The web site has a whole list of cyber crimes.

Ask them for their FAX number and send them a letter via fax to cease and desist all forms of communication. There are a few "pre written" forms that can be found online. Highest recommendation tho...contact your state attorney general's office and report them...list all known numbers they have contacted you from, and if they call again, get the person's name and company they work for..then report them! It is a scam...especially when they seem to hee and haw over the amount, check number or to whom it is written to..yeah, it's a scam!

Had a message from this morning, threatening to hold my bank account and freeze ALL funds unless I contacted this person TODAY! There was no mention on the message of WHOM they were contacting?! I did call them back, immediately upon calling...they made the statement that if I do NOT comply with them today, they will rip me into court..? All over a check, that when I ask: to whom is it written to, what is the check number and for how much...I get an barrage of foul language, called the "c" word...and that I need to SHUT UP and deal with this immediately? Excuse me? Scary part is, they had my SSI # and bank account #...it's a scam people!! What these people have done is hacked some data base, gotten your information, and are doing this with all counts to defraud you! If you have NOT gotten any form of written letter...this is ILLEGAL!! Please contact your state Attorney General's office..I did mine, and in a week these people have resulted in 602 reported calls in my state! My mother called trying to find out WHO this was contacting me..immediately the guy on the phone is roughing her up, demanding her phone number and telling her that papers have been processed against her? She did hear the guy say he was working for some law firm in NY, Chambers and Associates..?
Again, contact your state Attorney General's office and your bank and keep watch on your account...scammers, Bo-diddily-low life's, thieves, crooks, or what ever word comes to mind...these people are just this! Don't fall for it!!

I have calls and messages from these people every day. Different message each time. Today they said they tried to process a payment ant it didn't go through and now I would be accused of being fraudulent and it will affect my credit and banking. Yesterday was a totally different threat. Same with day before. Once time I answered the phone and it was automated message saying to call back because of litigation before me. No one ever says a name, the bank name or anything but a call back number. All my accounts and credit score are in good standing, so I know it's a scam. Question is, how do I stop them calling? I am on the do not call registry.

These people have a big scam going on. I reported their numbers before and they keep getting new numbers. The company is located in some other country and get 800 and local numbers. Once they have your name, you will get called from all of their call center scam people. Most of the time it is a person that speaks very little English with a thick accent. When you ask for specifics of the company and dates or anything concerning the debt, they can't give it to you. If you ask for it to be mailed, they can't do this either. My attorney, and my bank, told me not to give them any personal or banking info,, as they, can clean out your acct. I don't owe anything but, these people have been fined and held into court, but, they just seem to pop up with another phone number. Just keep reporting them and don't give them any personal or banking info. Good Luck.

They have called several times. They are Lewis & MCCarthy and they use 866, 888 and 315 numbers so far to try and reach me. The recorded messages never state who they are looking for, or the company name. They have left the "you have received service of a packet" message twice about a week apart. In that message, they claim to have to talk to me about upcoming hearing appearences. I have yet to be served.

They have also left messages claiming "intent to defraud," and asking for someone legally able to speak on my behalf. Each message has violated the FDCPA several times, and there are several. I have sent them a cease and desist letter and they continue to call. I'm not even sure the call is for me, because they don't ever say who they are calling for.

I just called the NY Attorney General's Office Consumer Fraud Division about this number.  With me on the line, the Atty Genl employee called 315-410-9237 to see if they are a valid collection agency.  Speaking with a manager at the number, we verified that they <b>ARE A LEGITIMATE COLLECTION AGENCY in NY.</b>  I believe the man said his company was called Lewis & McCarthy (Lewis N McCarthy?).  From what he said, they seem to have a very large debt collecting operation, using 800 numbers with many varying apparent area code call-back phone numbers and area codes.  Asked by the Atty Genl employee if they were aware that their initial contact recording to me was one that did not provide the name of their company, he said, yes, he was aware of that.  They seem to be one of the "heavy handed" type collection agencies, starting right up front with threats to collect debts.  While the name of the person from whom they are seeking to collect a debt matched my name, the last 4 digits of the SSN he provided did not match, nor did the birth year he had match mine.  He politely said that he would remove my phone number from their calling list.

Got the calls several times this week both at work and on cell.  called back and told them they were scammers and not to call again.  Also told them I reported them to the Attorney Generals Office, which I did.  We'll see if that works!  They need to get a real job!!!

I just received a call from 315-410-9237 that was a repeating, recorded message.  "We will be debiting your bank account tomorrow unless we hear from you to resolve this issue."  Recording never actually claimed to be trying to collect a debt.  Maybe that comes if you call them back.  I'll be reporting this to the TX Attorney General and anyone appropriate I can find in NY, based on information on this site.  Thanks everyone.

I am receiving calls everyday from a Jonathan Adams at this number stating that he is sending something to my residence or place of employement.  He never identifies what it is in reference to.  Scam.  I actually was scared into paying something for over 1200.00 and it is all fraudulent.  You can tell them to stop calling an harassing and they are suppose to abide by it.

Ditto!  So annoying...... If you call them back and tell them you know they are a scam and that you will be reporting them to AG, they will hang up on you.

These people call everyday, from all kinda different phone #'s,  I have yet to receive a letter in the mail, at home or at the office, I have no idea what is on page 25 of the package, because in one months time they have not delivered.  It is very annoying with this jonnathan person,  same first name just changes the last name every day.  It has the same voice on the recording, and they will answer back "Litigation", what Law Office answers there phone like that, and what makes them think that a person will just call and give them their social security and personal information over the phone. Could they please go get a life.  Do your business right and you won't have to LITIGATE.

I have been getting calls from this number, and 877 & 716 numbers all talking about a "packet" they were sending me, having to go over page 15. This time is was a " Johnathan Adams" and he would be in and out of the office that when I call back his secretary Jennifer would help me. This "packet" they keep talking about sending me started sometime in December, you think I would have received it by now - LOL

I got the exact same message after they've called multiple times... yesterday morning they called and left a message stating that "due to the bank holiday and Martin Luther King day" they were giving an extra 24 hours... I have YET to call but I do not want them calling my work... I do 100% believe it's a scam!!

Glad to know it was not just me.  He must be mass dialing.  My message was exactly the same..word for word.  I am so getting sick of these scammers.

just received the exact same message with the same name and said sent pkg and needed to discuss pg 25 - makes me feel better to know this is definitely a hoax.  have gotten several calls in the past 2 weeks - different voice on one - same voice on 2 and different numbers for all - one from national process servers from someone name craig - couldn't understand last name - from 877-630-6348 x 110, one from 866-496-0113 and then this one today -
this happened to me about 6 months back already and I put my bank and credit bureau on alert.

They have called several times now and each time they tell me a packet has bene sent to my work and/or home.  They say to call them back so we can discuss page 25 of the packet, lol.  I have never gotten any "packet" and I will not be calling back.  I did call the attorney generals office though.  Because they are trying to collect on a payday loan which is illegal in the state of Arkansas.  I do hope the packet comes in the mail.  If it does the attorney general said we could sue them so I really do need something in writing, lol.  Educated yourself before you pay these scum bags.

Got a call on my work number from Jonathon Christ saying that they have been trying by mail to resolve an automatic debit from my checking account, and that they were giving people an extra 24 hrs to resolve this since it was the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and a bank holiday. Definitely a HOAX, but using a very bankerish lawyerish voice! The call back number was 315-410-9237.

Called a couple of times...said I have a debt from a place I lived a few years ago.  Not true!  Never been passed due on anything. lol what they don't know is its an open record state...you can check to see if there any thing outstanding.  Don't fall for it!

Just got a call from this number. He said it was for the bills I owe and he would give me a huge discount on paying what I owe if I call back immediately. Said numerous bills have been sent to me (not true) and that I can take care of them all with one phone call.  Sounds like they prey on people who do actually have lots of unpaid bills on their desk and some people probably actually fall for it and send them money. Do not call them back and for heaven's sake, don't send a dime to these fakes!

just got a message on my answer machine saying I'd written a bad check but I know I haven't. Told me to phone him back with my telephone number and driver's licence number at 315-410-9237. It's a scam

Received a call "recording" from 315-410-9237.  Caller on the recording said his name is Jason Chris and this is regarding a back check.  The caller mentioned a name of one of this company's employees.  I jotted down the call back number and spoke with a young man who said it is regarding a back check in our county and gave a case number.  He said this employee needs to call this attorney to stop further legal intervention.  I took down the case number and phone number and said I would pass it on.

HOWEVER.... a bell went off in my head because I remember a scam call I had received like this months agao... so I checked 800notes and behold... IT IS !!!!!!!!!

The call back number was 716-332-1629 supposedly an attorney called Craig Eudelle.  This is a New York area code.
