Several calls a day.  Very annoying

The voicemail he left said he was from a collection agency calling for someone else, which is strange since I've had this cell number for over 3 years.

They've called me 3 times today.  Never leave a message.

Called the number back. Message stated they are called Total Solutions and does not apply to "do not call" lists.

This number called Las Vegas on 7/20/10 at 7:09PM with no one answering at the other end. It did not disconnect on its own either. I will simply block this number if they call again, with my carrier's designated feature. Do not care why they are calling, and 'do not call' registry is not something reliable anyway. If everyone decides to block these annoying calls, they'll eventually stop. We probably just need to .... 'get used to it'.....and move on.

I got a call from this number at 9PM PST on 6/4/2010.  What's interesting is I was watching a Starz preview on the Encore network at exactly the moment they called.  They identified themselves by first saying they wanted to thank me for being a "Loyal Cox Customer".  It was at least a half minute into the call before they tried to hustle Starz network.  I have received at least a half dozen such calls on "behalf" of Cox over the past couple of years, and it is always someone hustling the Starz network.  I have told Cox repeatedly I do not want such calls to come in, and they have promised repeatedly the calls will stop.  They don't.

I am concerned because it seems like too much of a coincidence that the call came in related to a preview to a service that I was watching at that moment in time.  Does this mean that the telemarketers are dialed in to what we are watching?  What does this mean to our right of privacy?

There's no good alternative to Cox in my area, because I depend on their Internet service and the Satellite TV providers are just as sleazy in their marketing practices.  But this baloney has to stop, and the only way to get it stopped is to target the advertisers that support the channels Cox carries.  We do have choices when we shop, and if Cox realizes it is going to lose revenue based on its sleazy marketing practice of selling its customers out to telemarketers, maybe they will quit bothering people.

I too am getting these calls.  I finally answered.  It is an outsourced telemarketing firm calling on "behalf" of Cox Communications.  The guy on the phone rattled on quite fast about all the features I had and what he is going to upgrade me to.  I then stopped him in mid-sentence and told him I had previously worked for Cox Communications for 5 years and he needn't explain any services further.  I also informed him that I am on the "Do Not Call" list with Cox.  It states as such right on my account.  He then became argumentative and stated that I had a business agreement with Cox and thus he has a right to call me.  I then told him the next call I made was going to be to Cox Communication to inform them that he was originally (and erroneously) identified himself as a Cox employee.

He then disconnected the call on me.

Finally answered this morning ... caller represents Cox Communications ... had my current features ... offered a special upgrade package.   I declined and called my local office.  They confirmed they do have outside sources doing these calls but they also agreed to remove my name from the calling list.

This number shows up as having called me several times a day.  But if it's that important, why don't they leave a message.  I use PhoneTray Free and have since blocked any future calls but wanted to report this.  My guess it's a new telemarketer working from home.

I got a call from this number tonight. I thought it was odd getting a call from Minoa, NY and having relatives in NY, I answered. It was some guy pushing a Showtime package for Cox Cable. I didn't trust it because a)  caller ID was NOT from Cox Cable and b) He did not have a business name on the caller ID.

Should be  Minoa NY

Let voice mail pickup, caller left no message.  Caller ID had only phone #.

Received a call from this number.  Showed up on called ID as "Minoa, NY".  I don't know anyone in NY, so I didn't answer it.

Came on here and see that a great number of the reports were related to Cox Cable.  I'm in CA and in my area we don't even have Cox.  We have another cable provider for our phone and internet and our TV service is satellite.

I live in Texas and got a call from this number.  No message either.  And we dont have any businesses by the name of Cox Communications here.

Received at 8:27 MST. Listed on Caller ID as Cox Comm.

When answered, there was no voice.

This is an outside party hired by Cox Communications to promote specials they have for their cable services.  I did not sign up with services (I do have Cox Communications) but I called and verified with the local Las Vegas Cox office that it was a legitimate call.  They are relentless with their calling and we have received as many as 25 calls in one week from this number!

This is a sales call.

Received numerous calls from this number, and I have Cox. However, I would never accept a call from Cox as legit if it came from outside my area code. Started reporting every call to the "Do Not Call Registry" and they reduced, then stopped completely. But, I reported these jokers EVERY time, and they eventually quit calling.

This number has called several times...luckly I have an attourny on hand so if anyone continues to get calls...you can have smeone look into it and when they press charges they will have prof. People track it and go further...im not f****ng w some dumb scam people

Two calls today from the same number today.  No message.  I'm a Cox subscriber.

Repeated calls all hours of day- no messages.  We don't answer unknown callers- this only shows the # and Minoa, NY.

I called Cox Communications the day after I received my call from NY. The Sales Rep for Cox did say that they did have that promotion and that it could have been a 3rd party vendor.He said that they being a 3rd party submit a request for the add on (ie. STARZ) and it takes longer than a direct call to Cox for the add on. I have til the rest of the day to see if it was added on because my call came yesterday and it was supposed to take 24 hours. The Cox rep didnt seemed concerned like it was a scam. Hope this helps. :)

Thanks for the info. This was really starting to bother me. I have Cox and have had nothing but trouble with them.

I've been getting hangups from this number for months.  Last night the person left heavy breathing on the machine!  Weirdos

did anyone here stay in NY just before they started receiving these calls? i am wondering if there is a common link, hotel maybe that is selling our phone numbers.  I stayed at the Four Points Sheraton -- Midtown 2 weeks before I started getting these calls.

As all the others before, I received calls without any voice message left.

I had this number on my caller ID for a couple of days when I was not home.  No message left on answering machine.  I have relatives in NY also.  I answered today and they asked for my by name.  I told them, "she was not her and I will take a message."   She just told me, "this was a courtesy call and she will call back later." She did not tell me what company she was from and she hung up too fast before I could ask her.

Just a loud buzz on the answering machine.

got a call from Minoa, NY today, no message, just an irritating sound on the message. Also a cox subscriber..

i have cox internet and phone, i.d. said minoa, ny, no message.
