Received call at around 10:30 AM 1-14-12. Did not seem like a message was left untill I turned up the volume and listened to the male whispered voice saying "Bi*** you fu****g woke me up". Have no clue who this is or why the call came to my phone.  Auto Pro is also an extended car warranty seller with unclear plans and difficult to get refunds back on unused services. Turn up the volume on your answering machine and you may hear a muted  message.

I have been receiving these calls numerous times a day for at least a month. They called here SUNDAY morning and I finally answered it - no messages are ever left on my machine. I asked them if they were aware that in NY it is illegal to make telemarketer calls on Sundays and he told me "If that was true, we wouldn't be calling". Upon which I argued with him for about 30 seconds and he finally hung up. My 18 yr old son answered it once and he was extremely rude to him when told one of the parents would not come to the phone. Yes, he did identify himself as State Trooper donation. I've read so many newspaper articles stating that the NYS Troopers NEVER use the phone to solicit donations, so I know this is a scam. I really wish there was a way to block numbers on my land line as you can on a mobile.  I have marked "Non-profit Org" as this is how they present themselves.

Called on a Sunday.   I read other people who received a call from this number was for a donation to the police department.  I highly doubt it on a Sunday

I used to work for this place, called APM, for Automated Professional Marketing, they have offices in Elk Grove Village, Chicago, Elgin, and Dekalb.  They are professional fundraisers contracted by organizations like the Illinois Council of Police (which does exist; the sheriff's department had the name wrong) and the American Association of State Troopers, New York Members.  What they do is legal, but they keep most of the money.  The reason these unions agree to do business with them is because they don't have to do any fundraising, they just collect a check, granted only a small percentage of the actual funds raised.  Saying you are on the do not call list is meaningless; they fund raise for non-profit associations which are exempt from the do not call list.  Tell them you want to be permanently removed from the database for Safety Publications, which is the name they work under.  If you get a halfway decent person on the line they will do that for you.
Oh and Shelsea, i can tell that despite your passion you have no idea what you are talking about, so i'll help you out.  What the are calling for is not the New York State Troopers, but the American Association of State Troopers, New York Members.  The AAST is a nationwide organization of current and former police officers.  It does a lot of the things a union does, though it doesn't call itself a union.  This organization contracted APM (or Auto Pro Market) to fundraise for them.  So what they are doing is completely legal.  Saying that you "know" police don't call asking for money is sorta silly because police officers did in fact hire these people to call and ask for money, so it is basically the same thing.  What they DON'T tell you is that your donation probably will not be used locally in any way (there may not be members anywhere near your area, and this donation only benefits the members of the association).  Also that up to 99% of your donation may be kept by the fundraising company and not given to the non-profit.  And the 1% they do get they may use for things like lobbyists or political contributions which you may not agree with.  Basically, donating to one of these groups is like throwing money out the window of your car.  But what they are doing is not illegal.  Jesus, it amazes me how people form impassioned opinions without actually knowing anything.  That's it.

I receive calls from this number several times a day.  I don't answer and they do not leave a message.  Getting pretty tired of these constant calls!!  Caller ID says "AUTOPROMARKET."

I have also received a call from this num, Caller ID said Autopromarket. I have called to report it to my local police station but have not heard back from them.

I have heard that the police or any other department does NOT solicit over the phone and therefore any call I get like this I hang up when they ask for money.

I read in some of the comments that some folks are calling the number back, be careful doing that, there is another scam where when you call back they somehow charge you a ton (thousands per minute) of money. You don't know it until you get your phone bill.

Have received many calls from this number, caller id says "autopromarket" and phone number.  Husband and I both ignore these calls thanks to caller id.  Annoying yes.. many thanks to caller id.   The call on a Sunday at 8:20am was the most annoying!

Repeatedly calls, for weeks now, at least twice a day.  Leaves no message.

Received calls the last 2 days from this number. First time I let it ring through. Today I answered it  and the person started asking for money for troopers. I said put me on your DO NOT CALL list and hung up.

i keep getting these phone calls from this number all the time.  if i do not want or do not recognize the number i just do not answer it.

I have been called by this number three times since last week.  The time I answered, a man with an accent, asked for a name than sounded 'similar' to my husbands
When I said nobody by that name is here, the caller abruptly hung up.  We are on the do not call list, so I have no idea how these callers are are getting away with their harassing behavior!

I talked to a NYS Trooper. They do not solicit donations over the phone or any other way. It's a scam !

I finally blocked the phone number and have not received a call in about a week now!

Caller told me they represented the Police Benevolent Society and were taking pledges for charitable projects. I said "Sorry, I have to hang up. I can't accept this kind of call." And I hung up. But they continue to call--mornings (early) and afternoons (late). They never leave a message, of course. Grrrr.

received call at appx 545PM on Sunday from the 315 number. No message. I did not try to call back.

I've been getting phone calls from AUTOPROMARKET day and night.  I finally answered this past Sunday morning when they called at 9:20am.  I told them I am on a Do Not Call list and not to call again.  I didn't even give them a chance to speak further.  Then the calls started coming again during the week.  I would answer and they would hang up.  This is becoming so annoying!!!

Just got a call from the same number; same message about NY State Troopers.  When I told him we would not be making a donation he didn't even try another line like any reputable telemarketer would do, he just hung up on me.

I received a call on a Wednesday evening.  A male stated he was with the American Association of State Troopers New York Members.  It smelled scam all over it.  I also called back the number but was unable to leave message as mailbox was full.  Again, pretty scammy smelling.

I've been getting calls from these people a couple of times a week for several weeks. My caller ID shows up on the TV so I just don't answer.

"Don't call list" will not help.

This caller is a PITA

I have been receiving calls from these creeps for the longest time. They call morning, noon and nite weekends and holidays...
The caller Id lists them as AUTOPROMARKET. When I call the number back, 1315-679-4603, I get a voicemail message stating there is no one to answer my call and to leave a message, however, the mailbox is always full.
They are creepy, pushy scammers and Time Warner, my phone carrier, will do nothing to stop them. I even registered with the do-not-call list but they still call. Time Warner will charge me $100 to change my phone number unless I get a letter from the police stating I am getting harassing calls.
Any suggestions? I don't want to change my number.

This number hit both our digital and hard wire phone today @ the same time.
didn't answer either and after 4-5 rings they went away.

SALINE COUNTY ? The Saline County Sheriff's Office is warning residents of a phone solicitation scam.

Residents are receiving calls from a company identifying themsleves as Auto Pro Market, according to a release from the sheriff's department.

The callers are soliciting funds for the "Illinois State Police Council," which doesn?t exist. The number that will show up on caller I.D. is 217-953-0055. But if the caller returns the call, the number reaches an automated voice mail that is full.

In researching this phone number, there have been several complaints state wide about this scam. They also seem to target women more than men. More than likely if a male answers the phone, they will hang up, according to the release.

The sheriff's department asks people who wish to donate money to do so locally so they know that their money is being used in their own community.

I HAVE BEEN GETTING THESE CALLS FOR ABOUT A WEEK NOW. EVERY DAY AT 9:30 AM AND NO ONE IS ON THE OTHER END. I REPORTED TO DO NOT CALL. I ALSO COMPLAINED TO THEM THAT THIS IS REDICULOUS BECAUSE WE REPORT THE NUMBERS AND THE CALLS DO NOT STOP.

I finally answered the phone after getting an unbelievable amount of calls from this number day and night and on the weekend.  
Gentleman states he is collecting money on behalf of the state troopers fund.. and wanted $20.
Don't know if it is a scam or not..
Hopefully they wont call anymore.

I told him i did not want to donate, so of course they have a special spot for small donors,,,,i told him that i am on the do not call list, and that if i want to donate to a charity, i'll contact them, he hung up on me.
