Called this number back and was prompted to join or create a conference. ....
Does not matter
What do you mean federal or state?
Can you elaborate?
They called my cell phone. I didn't answer it because it looked like a fake number. It only rang twice and then they hung up. 316 is a Wichita, Kansas area code. I then received a text message from the same number saying, "Sorry, I'm busy. Call back later." I never called them back to warrant a text with that message. It's got to be a scam. Just a heads up for people who are getting calls and stuff like this on their smart phones, your phone can get viruses too. So be careful answering phone calls and texts from numbers like this.
They called spewing some automated voice message about credit card services. I just hung up on them.
They called my cell phone today saying they were from cardmember services. I hung up on them.
I answered, they hung up. Tried to call back several times, nothing.
Just got a call from this number. Claimed to be testing lines.
This ia a federal or state call ,they use to track you or get some information ,anyway ,never answer your phone if you do not know who is ,let them leave a msg ...if not do not worry..
This has to be some kind of scam or line tracter or they are dialing looking for computers to hack!
316 area code is Kansas the whole number is 316-000-0000
They claim to be testing your line.
I received 2 phone calls from this number 20 mins apart. As others have stated CallerID says Kansas. 1st-call there are 3 tones and then a man's voice recording saying "We are testing your phone lines. Your lines are OK." I hung up at that point. 2nd call-There are 3 tones and then a man's voice recording saying "This is an automatic call. Your phone lines are being tested. Please don't be alarmed. We are sorry for any inconvience this may cause." I hung up right about then. I then called my phone company, Verizon, which (after switching me from dept to dept 3 times and then losing me) finally told me they do not have any repair dept from Kansas. They did check to make sure it wasn't some kind of way to put in an order for us to switch our phone company. It wasn't. And there was no report of trouble in our area. At this point it seems like it is just a crank call.
Got the call. Picked it up. Immediantly heard a dialing, like a fax machine. Before it could get through a full number, I hung up.
Called 10:28 am, caller id said KANSAS, got several tones then a recording saying "please hold, we are checking your phone lines" and started to repeat when I hung up. Also called my phone company, Qwest, who does not operate in Kansas. They said they do not do anything like that, but couldn't trace the call. They said I would have to report it to the police & then go to their security dept, but would only do that if my life was threatened. I asked them to make a note in my account of this call in case there was any fraudulent activity-guess we'll have to wait and see.
Call at 12:33 a. m. said they were checking our phone lines. Our phone company said they do not do this.
