Just keep getting calls from this number and will report this number to the Kansas Complaint Dept. in hopes that it helps.

I live in enterprise is and I got the call from the same number as everyone else.  I feel it is a scam but not sure

also just received call from the "Local" call with number 1-316-665-6559.  Glad I didn't answer the call after reading the posts.

I did not appreciate this call and if in the past I have donated to this cause I will not donate in the future as I feel these types of calls are not welcome and deserving of my time and money.  It invades my privacy.

When I answered, they hung up.  I called the number back and got a recorded message: "Thank you for calling the information line for the association of chief of police."  That's right, the chief of police is prank calling me.

To whom does one report these people?  I would gladly make the call, but have no idea to whom.  I receive multiple calls from this number and at all times of day and night.  9:30 pm today.

Mine showed "local" on the caller ID too. I'm suspicious of a charity that does that. Will more people really answer  and be excited about donating if they see "local" instead of the real name of the charity? It didn't make me answer and I doubt that many people would either.

sure tough to take a nap with some of these calls all day long-even when we don't answer them.

Would they give you money for your retirement ?  NO ... !!!    Says Kansas call. They can't give a name ?

I have received this call 3 times in the past 3days, will not leave message.

I just got an email telling me to call this number to find out who is calling me. If this IS a legitimate "charity", why are they being so underhanded in their attempts to raise money. I live on a pension; why do they (police) think that because they have to live on a pension, I should share my pension with them? That's assuming this operation really is raising money for police who live on very limited retirement funds. I have known a couple of law enforcement officers who went on to other careers after retiring. I don't get why police need to have their pensions augmented anymore than anyone else.

They have been calling several times a day for weeks! Ridiculous!

This call came in at 18:26 hours on Thursday, 4-24-06 originating from Level 3 Communications in Wichita, KS. Caller ID said "Local". Another site identifies this as the Kansas Association Of Police Chiefs. Now the Caller ID made sense, it isn't a local phone call, it's Local as in labor union. This outfit, of course, can duck the Do Not Call registry.

They have been calling me for 2 weeks now, but I never answer a call if I don't recognize the number--they never leave a message so I know it is not important..

I purchased a Digitone call blocker. After I installed it the number of calls coming in started going down. It has a blocked list that can hold 80 numbers and it will block anonymous calls without any programming. It is for landlines only.

Received a call from this number on 2-20-11. No message.

I have received several calls from some representing themselves as the police union or something similar. They want money for tickets and make a hard pitch for money, even when I told them I have no money. When I answer now and they announce themselves, I just hang up.
I received a call from the posted number today and answered it because it is local...and the caller hung up after I said hello twice. I won't answer it anymore!

The above number keeps calling once in the morning and once in the evening....who do we contact since do not call does nothing.

Got a call from this number at 7:32 PM on Thursday, 21 October 2010.  I am located just south of Topeka in the 785 area..  No one would speak when I answered.  Just some noise before the line was disconnected.

Received a call from this number at 4pm on Oct. 20th, 2010.
It said 'Unknown Number' and when i answered it, there was nobody on the line, just silence.

received call from 316-665-6559 I answered, they said nothing got static I hung up
I'm currently in the market for some donations myself.

I have gotten calls like this in the past. I have learned that all I have to say is I just filed for bankruptcy and they don't bug me anymore.

I receivem this cll regularly.  I do not answer a call I do not recognize and they do not leave a message.  I am glad to notice the conclusons from others.  It is unfortunate that solicitating for charities can not be on the DO NOT CALL list.

Got a call from this number, with Local on the caller ID.  I figure since it's an out of town area code, then it's not local.  Didn't answer and after reading the above messages, I'm glad I didn't.

wish this number wud quit calling if its the chuefs of police theyll never get my hard earned money. its a bad practice for them

We have received numerous phonecalls from this number.  I have not answered the phone as I don't recognize the number.  We are in a 913 area code and don't know anyone from the Whicita area where 316 is the area code.  There have been no voicemails left from the person calling.
