This number shows up on caller ID as Salvation Army, they don't leave a message on my answering machine.  Very annoying. I blocked them out.

I just received the same call and the same mesage from salvation army it will be true?

Man caller identified himself as police....fund for children of slain officers...once a year call...can he send me an envelope and count on my plege...
I receive this same call many times a year from various numbers, and spoke with a genuine officer only once, who declared your caller ID will read State Police, or the like, if the caller is for real.

Ostensibly from Salvation Army, calling to confirm a pickup -- they had my address correct, but I never called to ask for a pickup, so I don't know how they got my number.  Of course they could find my address by googling my home phone number (boo!), but still
