The calls are from Angies List. They are calling to gather feedback from you, to make the service better.
Usually, the calls are quicker than requiring you to go online, and spend 5-10 minutes type it all out.
As has been stated above, change your preferences if you don't want these calls. It's not 'Telemarketing" though, since they aren't soliciting.
Also, for people who get mad about the calls, or where the calls are going to (your cell phone, for example) when you signed up, and the box was there asking for your phone number, as a CONTACT number, and you PUT IT IN. Hmmmmmmmmm...
"Unknown Name". Who are they?
Had several calls from 317-396-9164, no one on the other end.
calling my cell phone
Awesome info, thanks! :)
Received phone call and did not pick up. Googled it and got the link to your website. Sent e-mail to Angie's list to ask about phone call, and inserted pdf created from this webpage.
We got a call from this number this morning: No message. No company name in caller ID.
We just updated our Angie's List preferences (which already said we didn't want phone calls), and we'll not be renewing our membership. Thanks to those who posted the identity behind this number.
I typically ignore unknown callers, but I have to agree that I didn't sign up to be pestered by another company. Anyway, I am going to be canceling from Angie's as well. As a suggestion for those that DO like Angie's List but not the calls, update your preferences on your account.

Agree... I find Yelp much more useful. It covers many more businesses and has a lot more reviews than Angie's list and it's Free !!! I will not be renewing my subscription to Angie's list.
That number originates from angieslist.com. They are doing the usual harassment under the guise of "checking in" and they want you to write more reviews for their paid website. Please be aware that if you write a negative review they tell the business your private information and that business can contact you. AWFUL people, angie's list.
