Dear Sallie mae, when I get money/job with that Bull S*** 2 year degree , I will pay. Until then, stop calling and hanging up. Here's an idea, Give me a job you f****! Then I could pay you! You have my application.... Get on it. It's only been 4 years...
workingmom 2013-11-28 00:34:59 Unknown
I get calls at all hours from them. They've called me at 1am, 3am, 5am all the way up through 11pm, its driving me nuts and I'm in deferment because of financials with two kids and the only one working it drives me nuts

Got a call from this number. They call me every 3 days, like clockwork. I am seriously at my wits end. This is annoying not only me, but my family and roommate as well. They never leave a message. I have answered in the past, and only once has somebody been on the other end. They began demanding by SSN #. When I asked who they were and how they got my number, I was told that it wasn't my concern and they hung up. I beg to differ. It IS my business how somebody got an unlisted number.

I get this message about a change to my Sallie Mae account constantly, even after i have taken care of everything. It has gotten to where I get it 5-6 times a DAY.
This is ridiculous. I have had numerous other problems with the company's services outright FAILING TO WORK (i.e. Forbearance, Payments...etc)...I don't want to get started on all of that though.

I've gotten calls from Sallie Mae before and they've always left a message asking me to call them back or to go to the website to take care of whatever issue they are calling about. The 317 number is not the same as the one they use, and they never leave a message! Don't even bother calling them back!
unfreakinreal 2013-10-07 22:20:29 Unknown
I am not behind on anything. i have a deferment due to being in school and I still get calls and emails non-stop. I feel as if I am being harassed.
I just called them again and they say I will not get any more calls...but we will see.
They are extremely disorganized like many federal organizations. (I've noticed)
unfreakinreal 2013-10-07 22:16:22 Debt Collector
wth?
why would sallie mae loans be different from department of ed loans? when i am deferred due to being in school for one, wouldn't that automatically work for the other?
they never stop. they email, they call, they torture and make me anxious! I am trying to work on my master's degree and they still call and enail non-stop. They are extremely disorganized.
I am getting really P'O'd!

I get a call from this and several others, multiple times a day, at all hours of the day and night! I get calls before 8 AM and well after 9 PM! (try more like 1145 PM) The automated recording says its Sallie Mae, and yes, I do know I have student loans that I have not been able to pay on, due to me becoming disabled and not working for over 2 years now. I've applied for forbearance and deferment 4 times this year alone and have been told each time that it was accepted and I was good to go. Obviously, I'm not if I keep getting these calls! I also get calls from the schools I have attended in the past as well, saying my loans are past due. Sallie Mae is the most disorganized company EVER! Not to mention, the whole outfit has pretty much been outsourced to India/Middle East, as much of the call center work has. Having had my identity stolen and finding out the beginning of this year that whoever did that, also filed a federal tax return under my name, I refuse to give my SSN # to anyone, unless I am absolutely sure I know the company I'm talking to, that they actually need that information, and I CALL THEM! If you're smart, you'd do the same.

They don't!!! I am in the process of transfering my loan from them because I have spent 5 months trying to get them to send me forebearance paperwork. They are the worst

Keep getting calls on an unpublished number from 317-595-1242. I have NO LOANS, AM NOT IN SCHOOL, and HAVE NOT ASKED for info. So, these calls are just scams trying to get your info so they can steal from you. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!!
No Student Loans 2013-08-20 18:22:23 Unknown
I'm getting them calling, already today, three times. I'm 60 years old and don't have anything to do with student loans. They let the phone ring until the answering system picks up and then they hang up. This is very aggravating!
freewriterguy 2013-08-19 14:18:03 Debt Collector
Im not even in debt to them, never have been and they call me every morning to harrass me because someone used me as a reference. I told them I would never help them find their person mainly because they are in cahoots with the government charging ridiculous fees off of our poor students in this country its become like a ponzi scheme. The other reason is I don't do other peoples job without compensation.

Keep missing there call. So I called back. It is the loan place but wanted all my digit to my social security number. I siad no. so apparently they could not help me stop the calls. Even if I give them my phone number thsy have been calling to. That I need to wait till they call me again. Cause with out my social they can't help. Sounds like a big scam.
J W 2013-08-08 01:26:16 Unknown
Although they be trying to collect legitimate debts, they (apparently) do not exercise due diligence in keeping track of, or in tracking down, debtors. Like a lot of "collection agencies", they simply run down published telephone directories and call any and all names that remotely resemble the debtor in their system. (yep, my 90 + year old mother has had same phone number at her residence for over 40 years, and is just in the directory with last name and first initial ------ been getting lot of strange collection calls.)

I know I owe on some student loans and have not addressed the problem lately due to drugs/alcohol/mental illness but why did I get a voicemail from some dude using my first name saying "Hey ****, I'm at your house, give me a call back." ? Uh what? I don't own a house or apartment for that matter. I know my loans are in ruins much like my sobriety, but what the hell was that?
jamey 2013-08-01 19:53:00 Unknown
I received a call from this number. When I returned the call, the person said it was from Harrison Middleton University, and asked if I would like to leave a message. How strange since they called me. ALso, it was an answering service. SOme of you have said that it is Sallie Mae. If this is true, then this is subterfuge in attempting to call about overdue student loans.

They don't necessarily call me too many times a day, but it is at all friggin hours several times a week. They've called anywhere from like 7 AM to 9PM so I'm kinda of the opinion of "REALLY???"

usually automated... I set up a payment plan, that's an automatic withdraw from my account, still get these calls... even get letters too. believe the company to be very unorganized. when I talk to someone on the phone, I usually get someone who wont help, but when I did... I got their direct line, even she said everything is ok, just to ignore it... i would prefer her to say, it will stop after the 90 days when the computer accepts the plan... no such luck. this is my only regret in life, college, its one large debt that does not seem to go away

I THINK IT IS A SCAM. THEY STARTED WITH TWICE A DAY, SO I
FINALLY GOT AN ANSWER WHEN I CALLED. IN THEIR ANSWER TO
THE CALL THEY WANTED YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. I WAS
NOT DUMB ENOUGH TO COMPLY BUT INSTEAD ASKED THAT MY
NUMBER BE REMOVED.

I AM 86 YRS. OLD. IT IS DIFFICULT FOR ME TO ANSWER PHONE.

I JUST WISH IT WOULD STOP. IT IS HARRASMENT.

I got a call from them today and I did not get the automated first so I did not know for sure that it was Sallie Mae. I politely told the guy that I would not give him my info until I knew for sure, he offered his boss to verify (not good enough for me, I know that a company that lies often does it all the way up. I wanted them to say call us back at the number on the website/mail that you have gotten but he hung up on me :( not professional IMHO I have worked call centers and I always say "it might take a transfer or 2 but call us back at our published number and you will get someone who can help you"
