unsolicited call - They said they got my name from a reputable call list broker  

These knuckleheads have called every day this week, and twice today.  I just put the phone down on the sofa and let them do their spiel into it.

I then call Barbara Reid, Executive Director of CLF at 732 920-8860 and leave a message about what I think about being bothered by her illegal fundraisers.  She listed her number on page one of this thread, so I don't see anything wrong with giving it out here.

Let me make a suggestion:  Every time you get a call from these Bozos, call "Barb" at the above number and tell her what you think.  Don't be shy about calling.  She doesn't mind calling you.

This morning (before I had my first cup of coffee,) the phone rang and and a female asked for me by name (disturbing that this scum has my personal information.) While she neither clearly identified herself nor the organization she was representing, she launched into her spiel: a spiel that sounded oddly familiar! When asked if she could, "send me an envelope for a small donation," I responded, "sounds good" (by the way, NEVER say, "OK" or "Yes" when speaking to these rodents.)  She then continued on, with the excuse, "they make me ask this" and tried to elicit from me how large a donation I would be making, concluding with the comment, "the usual donation is 75 to 100 dollars." At that point, I said "Bye Bye."

After hanging up, I reviewed my records and discovered that a female had used this same spiel twice in the past two months: first incident representing "Breast Cancer" and the second incident, you guessed it, representing "Children's Leukemia."

OK, gang, time to go to work! Let's put these rodents in a cage where they belong.

Your company called my home. When I told them I was not the person they had asked for, she completely ignored me and called me by the wrong name anyway... as she laughed and said she was from the CLF. I told her immediately to take me off of the call list and not to call  - since they call here EVERY DAY - and again, she LAUGHED and then hung up without saying anything. Needless to say I have reported your company and I will NEVER give money to support your "cause".

I have had four calls this week, the fourth time time I answered.  The caller identified herself as from "Childhood Leukemia Foundation".  My number is a wireless number.  Caller ID says "UNAVAILABLE".  Telemarketers are required to display their phone number on caller IDs.  I think this violates multiple aspects of Federal law (Telephone Consumers Protection Act of 1991 and Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009).

Former employee you are full of it. I recieve non stop phone calls, and I do answer, and when I say that I can not donate at this time, I get hung up on, THAT is what I call rude. You people need to be investigated for fraud

I have received multiple phone calls from your organization from a man calling himself Greg. I have told this company I was no longer employed, and could not donate at this time. And instead of saying thankyou or goodluck, the a** hangs up on me, then calls back at 10-10:30 pm. I have logged all calls and plan to take it to the police to file harrassment chares. This company is a disgrace to leukemia foundations, and probably hurts the legitimate "Childrens Leukemia Foundation" Shame on you and your harrassment business!

I received my first call and agreed to donate but then received what looks like a bill with a due date and that got me upset.  If I want to donate to a charity I will do it on my time and send the amount I want, not what someone dictates to me.  After more research, I find this organization to be sub-standard.  I suggest Barb donate some of her $140,000.  I don't make a fraction of that.

well man you are just disgruntled as by law any and i mean ANY charity must put a minimum of 65% into the charity which means 35 percent goes towards expenses such as employees expenses such as electricity the building the phone service equipment such as phones computers paper pens ect... so 10 bucks puts 3.50 into the fund towards this now think about how many 10 dollar donations it takes to purchase a 100.00 multiline phone then how many to buy or lease that 50.00 dollar chair for the person to sit in and hell we arent even to the part where the person trying to earn a living is getting paid. so if this guy is pocketing more than that he will eventually be audited and lose everything to the government.

They keep calling bc your not answering. Ppl don't realize that these r ppl. U ppl yell and curse 1 guy even told me 2 die how can u say that 2 a person if we were face 2 face u wouldn't. We really care about helping the kids we get told no over 1000 times a day and we come back 6 days a wk 4 45 hrs. We get frustrated by rude ppl we don't remove u if your rude 4 no reason! If u r nice or don't curse we will but even if we do it doesn't stop other fundraisers! I'm so tired of hearing I'm on the do not call list so many ignorant ppl don't know that it does not stop fundraisers or campaigns if it did we couldn't call u!!

These folks keep calling to the point where they have simply worn me out.  There is nothing you can do.  I just give them money to leave me be for a while.  Its extortion, but it buys me a little peace.

That's not the point. Commercial fundraisers are simply telemarketers with a DNC exemption, which they exploit as a free ticket to carpet-bomb entire states with daily nuisance calls. Any savings you might claim over a campaign conducted by mail or by staffed volunteers in grocer parking lots are more than absorbed by the telemarketing firm itself as "overhead".

Last year the Childhood Leukemia Foundation managed to burn 27% of its income on the cost of fundraising, meaning you and your boss. You as middlemen are the ones "taking money from children".

This is how it works, I know cause I use to work there. It is an auto dialer, the calls have a delay so when you dont hear any one is because they are just hanging up on the last call and the number has all ready been dialed. Another thing is when you call and request your number taken off the list what will happen is they take you off 1 list when you could be on several other list. Also some employees there think its funny to have some one else call them back when they where asked to be removed they put them on redial. They also use 317-788-2605. The main guy Lou that runs the Indianapolis location is very disrespectful, he shortens peoples pay, threaten the employess that he will fire them if they dont bring in good donations and is a liar. Him and his seceratary steals the employees bonuses buy saying we didnt earn it. This place is a SCAM dont give money to them.

You just want to fatten yours, Lou and Barbs wallet. I have never seen you help any of these kids. And the very few letters you have in the office is old. You might help very few to be leagit but the rest of the money is put in yalls pocket. You treat your employees like crap, make them stay over and not pay them cause your to stupid to figure out how to calculate minutes, also shorten there paychecks and not want to pay them. Lou has no respect for any one but his favorites, many times we where threaten by him. How could they have some heartless PIG in charge trying to help out these poor kids. Believe me I will tell everyone and visit every website and leave a bad comment.

No they buy the phone list out of the donation money. Also Target gives them gift cards for the kids and what do they do, give the employees one for Christmas and Lou took the left over ones and spent it on him and his family. No you dont, you have teens working there that think its funny to put the calls back on redial and make the people mad. I know cause I worked there. Your nothing but a scam taking the money out of peoples pockets includeing the EMPLOYEES, make them promises and bonus and then turn around and take it from them with some stupid excuse so you can pocket the money and yes I mean LOU AND JENIFFER, BUNCH of crooks. ya let me explain something here 100% of mailings go out only 27% come back does that sound like a good system to you? Now if we call people personally and they say no well we dont send it out and we dont take $ away ffrom the children see? only mailings that go out is if people say yes and i promise you even alot of those dont come back so people have to look at the bigger picture here!

ok so everyone is clear on this we are a real fundraiser for the childhood leukimia foundation and if you look up the do not cal list, we are a non profit organazation so we are allowed to call and we dont qualify for the do not call list as well as politition calls. So get it straight. Only sales people qualify for that list...look it up! As to people calling back the phone number is to a machine anyone see "wargames" ok so thats why it gives you an error message. We don't mean any harm by calling but we're just trying to raise money for kids with cancer. If your child had cancer wouldn't you want me to work my hardest to get a donation for your child? I know alot of people are broke but we dont know that calling and if anything a $15 donation goes a long way. And it's honest work and i'm trying to support my family while doing a great dead. Call the charity itself and ask what our raising $ has done for these kids. So next time a charity calls have a little more sympothy and just think what a $15 donation can do for these kids!!

I donated to this organization in March, and they have continued calling me several times a week. I've asked three people to take my name off the phone list. This is harassment! Today the young woman who called me for the second time, laughed and said, "Oh, some people won't take your name off if you don't listen to the whole message." I told her I ALREADY donated, and she said, "Since you're being so nice, I'll take your name off."

How disgusting is this? To solicit money for a worthy cause and then harass your donors! I read online today this charity has one of the worst ratings for giving the least money to its cause. Shame on YOU!

Thats a bunch of bull they have several list they call from and the number could appear on another list and due to there crappy program it doesnt remove the number always. Some of the people wont put you on the list they just mark it as a re-dial, they have so many young adults working there and are way far from professional.

They some times will remove you but if you get nasty with them they put you back on the redial list.

You are so true. Tim St John dont work there any more. Seeing this make me all most beleive he was fired over this. He hasnt worked there for awhile now. Seems like one of there games they play, They do there employees wrong, exsecpt for the favorites they have picked out. They treat every one like crap, hire in criminals and dont do a background check. They even got rob by one of ther supervisor. Lou is the worst heartless BA**ards he is so mean and hateful, no one like hims besides the A** kissers.

An unknown caller ID showed up on my caller ID and requested a donation for clf4kids? I think people will use this as a check up name to see if you are home? I told the guy what's your website and I'll decide if I will donate? UNKNOWN CALLER ID, WOW!

CLF calls me every single day.  Usually some pert teenage sounding girl telemarketer.  I tell her not to call me and she calls again, every single day.  I think they simply want to wear down people so that they give up and donate.  No doubt, once you donate, they will call again every month and ask for more money. Its outrageous.
