It's Verizon phone company.

keeps calling, no message, no answer when I call back. unless they leave me a message for a reason, I'm never answering again, and I'll report them.

Who is calling from this number.  Several calls and when I do call back, nothing happens, not even a ring!!!

i got a call 08/27/10- didn't leave a message. when i tried to call back, there was no ring tone, no answer- nothing. i have no clue who they are

I get a call from this number everyday at 9:32 am.......just air left on the voicemail......VERY ANNOYING!!! This has been happeing now for 5 days!

If the number they are dialing with this AUTODIALER is a cell phone, they are violating federal law.  Contact the FTC.  Be sure to mention that the also suck up (how many) seconds of recorded silence in your voicemail.

I HAVE JUST RECIEVED THIS CALL I ANSWERED  DEAD AIR  I SEE A REPLY ABOUT THIS IS VERIZON PHONE COMPANY  SO IF YOU GET CALLS YOUR PHONE BILL IS PROBABLY DUE.

This number called me and left a message about arranging payment and such and told me to call 8774629447 or go to the frontier website. I dont have any business with frontier or verzion.

Sorry. That should have said "to make payment arrangements". Don't think I could talk them into paying my bill, but it would be nice.

It's Frontier calling to make payments on my phone bill. They leave a voicemail with contact info.

Ya, Im getting the same deal. they call nothing, i call back nothing.  you can just have the number blocked.  Some people are just dumb s**** and their is nothing you can do about it.  Maybe they will grow up, maybe they won't but i would not sweat it too much.  This person(s) are just looking to get a reaction, just block them and move on with life.

Called for 2 days every 2 to 4 hours.  Thanks to all about the possible scam.

I agree, my prepaid account I cancelled service on 3/22/11 to be safe I closed my bank acct and got a new one to not have troubles with stopping autopays. Guess what, this joker started calling and leaving messages  about me needing to make payment arrangements, on what, an account that was prepaid and stopped at the end of that billing cycle.Not getting my info it is a scam.I have the cancellation notice dated from 3/3/11 for the service stop from frontier comm which is associated with verizon. Do not give your information out!

The problem with the "verizon" and "newcommu" explanation.... one - that's not how Verizon operates.  They use their own letterhead and caller ID.  If something changed or was outsourced -- you'd get your first notice from VERIZON itself, not this new entity.  two - land lines are with Frontier now.  Bills and website are via Frontier... not "verizon" or this mythical "newcommu".

I got a few calls last month from someone claiming to be "with Frontier" trying to "fix my long distance carrier assignment".  The longer the call went - the more it was clear this was some third party scoop attempt.  They didn't have the information that Verizon or Frontier would have had.

Always assume anyone cold-calling you is a liar or fraudulent.. that goes for vendors, utilities, collection agencies.  Legitimate attempts of contact for these kinds of matters are via letter with proper letterhead stationery, etc.

This is Frontier who took over FIOS from Verizon, billing stuff is still connected. They remind you a few times to pay and then shut it off.

My husband got this call today. It is a SCAM. It is someone claiming to be from Frontier Communications (formerly Verizon) asking him to update his credit card information. We have Verizon/Frontier internet service, but have never paid by credit card, and my husband's phone number is NOT on the account. I called Frontier (the number printed in the phone book) and they said these calls are a scam, the caller is phishing for our credit card number.

The phone number is NOT Verizon or Frontier. It is a SCAM. Do not give them your credit card information - or any personal information at all. Report them to whichever company they claim to represent. Use the phone number printed on your bill, or in the phone book. Be careful!

Dejavu - called repeatedly by 1-317-896-9193 - company name Frontier - which took over Verizon.
Says my credit card used for preauthorized payment is about to expire & I need to call back and update their records.
1st kicker - I don't own credit cards
2nd kicker - our "Frontier" FIOS bill is in my hubby's name
3rd kicker - calls cannot be returned - dead silence.

Has anyone gotten any resolve from Verizon/Frontier over this matter?  
When I called Frontier's Customer Support (1-877-462-8188) the operator I got tried the number and also got nothing, but couldn't say what/who the number was for...

No messages were left.

I've been getting calls from this number, first saying it was from Verizon (which I DO NOT have ANY service with), then from Frontier (who I DO NOT have ANY service with).........

They just keep calling and calling - I reported them to the Do Not Call website. Who knows if that will make any difference.

They are really "P******ing" me off!

Got a call this morning. Caller ID said North Central WC. I didn't answer. Ran the number 317-896-9193 on the computer. Intellius ad said it belonged to Jerry Brokaw, W.193 st., Westfield, IN, 46074

SCAM

Called after 9pm said it was Frontier my internet provider.  Frontier doesn't know it.

Frontier is not a collection. Frontier is a phone company. They took over part of Verizon's territory. Mine was part of that merge. I have to pay my bill to Frontier Communications now, so, Verizon did not turn you over to a collection agency. You made the transition, and now are a Frontier customer. Both will answer you call for a while, I'm told.

Got a call from North CTRL WC, Don't know who they are and calling @ 9:20pm WTH.....

We've had this call repeatedly come in, sometimes more than 1 time per day for several weeks now.  We are on the Do Not Call List, but with the volume of calls we've been having, given this economy, every scam artist or salesperson is out there.  If someone knows how to stop this, as there is only silence as cited above.  Last call was yesterday: 12/5/2010

They called me Dec. 3rd.
Don't know who they are.
