If you still have the form with your donorpoint.org login information (where you check the "wellness" section and view your donor points & such), log in to the site and click on "Donor Profile"
Under each Phone & Ext field here's an OPT OUT - choose "yes" for both Evening Phone and Daytime Phone. Click on the Submit button and now you should only have contact from IRBC on your terms.

I received call from this number on a military installation. The ladsy said she was from India and wanted to speak to John. I told her it was the wrong number and we were military. She apologized and hung up.

This is the Central Indiana Blood Donor Center. They did not leave me a message. Kind of odd they would call on a Sunday, unless they are trying to get donations scheduled for Monday morning.

This number calls me while I'm at work as well. It's really annoying that they never say anything. Now that I know it's the Indiana Blood Center, I'll just ignore it -- I schedule my blood donation online.

I too have been at work when getting this call from (317) 916-4343. I had no clue who it was until I called it back and got the IRBC call menu. Kinda shocked they would call and hang up when I answer. I do or have listed my work number as viable number for me to be reached but wow, to hang up is, well, unprofessional to say the least.

They are using a product that autodial's the numbers for the agents. It tries to detect if it's a machine or human that picked up the call. If it's working correctly, it will connect you to the agent. It likely thought you were an answering machine and disconnected the call. Those systems are usually pretty good at detection but is not perfect.

hang-up after hang-up, while I'm at work!! I fell like they are stalking me. I gave blood in May, and I probably would again if they would at least say "Hello."

These calls are almost borderline harassement. I have blocked the number on my cell. When I am ready to give blood I will contact them.

They bug you to donate and complain about shortages on TV yet they have in the past sent out internal e-mail messages from there CEO talking about throwing away blood units. I have a list of about 20 questions that local news media needs to have the blood centers CEO explain why they collect, test and then pitch these units after they have bugged you to donate. A copy of this e-mail is available to the public if needed.

Why is an Indiana Blood Center calling someone in Florida? There have been too many calls to count over the past few months.I do not bother answering calls from people/numbers that I do not recognize, nonetheless the calls are annoying and need to stop. I have never been to Indiana and have never given blood. I have an unlisted and unpublished number also.

This Indianapolis phone number (317 916-4343) belongs to the Indiana Blood Center located on North Meridian. I will agree that they are a persistent bunch.
FYI: The Blood Center representative doesn't really hang up when you say "Hello," but their old computer dialing system has an awkward delay built in before you can hear anyone. Give them a full 10 or 12 seconds, and they'll finally acknowledge that you have picked up. I know... very strange indeed.
They they do their asking thing.

...what is your point in coming here and posting now. Sounds like you're frustrated about something.

I called the number back (instead of going through all the trouble to find this site, log in, and post my frustrations over who this may be...novel idea i know)It is the Indiana Blood Center, you may call 317-916-5150 and they will be happy to remove your name from their calling...and you wont have to worry being reminded to donate.

Yep, Once you give they don't leave you alone. We got calls yesterday (Sunday) and 3 today! I'm sure I haven't received the last one for the day. I understand the need but good grief!!!

Glad to know who it is, although every time I answer there's nobody on the other end - like they hung up before I picked up.
Now I know what's up. I give blood regularly so maybe they'll go away if I stop piking up.
Thanks to all.

Caller hung up when our answering machine answered., Fri, 1 Aug 2008, 1:19 pm EDT.
Some reports here say this is Indiana Blood Center. This is quite plausible as they call us frequently.

If it is solicitation, I want to be taken off the call list. I can not give blood, wish I could though.
| Yup....another annoyed donor 2008-07-30 00:45:35 Unknown |
It's true - that's the number for the IN blood center.

This is the Indiana Blood Center. If you ever give blood they will call & call & call & call & call asking you to come back.

Has anyone been receiving calls from 317-916-4343? I get them on Sundays between 4 - 6 p.m.
