I received the same call with the same loud noisy background and foreign accent. Saying  qualified for $7,000 only they told me my address and first and last name, they already knew it and was asking for confirmation, Scary!!!!

These idiots called me yesterday and today. Never answered and they don't leave a message. Google the number, read everyones posts (thank u). So added this number to my smartguard app on my blackberry which can block numbers you don't want to receive calls from. Very handy app!!!!!

Ok so I got this call and the person was saying how the U.S. sends these people $7000 grants every year and I could barely understand this guy so I got irritated and hung up way before they could get my account numbers... These people are ridiculous. Get a life!

They gave me the same number to call. I feel so dumb and dont know what to do now that everyone says it's a scam. I kept asking more question because it seemed like a fraud but I didnt want to pass it up if it was real. :(

I answered and said "Hello" twice - all I heard was a lot of background noise, then got hung up on.
Caller ID simply said "Louisiana".

Called and didn't answer, when I checked the number they said it was disconnected.  I get a lot of calls like this and usually tell them I will report them because I am on a no call list.  They usually hang up when confronted.

I too have gotten a call from this number!! Same story just like everyone else on here. I get a $7000 grant, hes calling from Washington with an Indian accent. He repeated the same story line 3 times!!! This money is to be used for school, bills, ect ect whatever you want. Do not use this money for anything such as drugs and other bad things!!! What government agency says something like that. So when he said I can transer the money in your bank account, ccredit card or something to that fact. He says how do you want your money? I had already realized it was a scam when he repeated the same script 3 times of what I can do with the money. So when I said mail it to me the man hangs up the phone. THIS IS TOTALLY A SCAM!!! There are other numbers that these people call from. I have yet to figure out how they got my number but they ALSO CALL FROM OTHER NUMBERS, I've received calls from them several times!!! Different numbers and soon as I say the F.B.I is monitoring my phone to catch you they hang up. Another way I knew it was a scam, they ALWAYS say they are calling from the Law Office of someone, I can't for the life of me remember the name, but it NEVER fails, they will say The Law office of. The man said that during this call as well. and when I called back it says the Verizon wireless customer you have reached is no longer available. I talked to my bank because they very first time I got a call from these people. He had the last four of my social and last four bank account number. I called my bank to close my account. The banker informed me that these people do this all the time!!! They are in different countries, I assume Indian because thats the accent I pick up from the man and woman who always call. But they sit in rooms with a list of numbers and call all day, making up stories trying to get you to believe you owe money and a lawyer is serving you and coming to your job, they had my job location and things of that nature I was SO upset angry and emotional because I didn't know what was going on. This is what they want to get you emotional to where you say here just take whatever I owe you! DONT FALL FOR THE SCAM. ANYTHING ABOUT GRANTS OR YOU OWE SOMETHING AND THEY HAVE AN ACCENT IS A SCAM. They don't have all you information as you may think, stand your guard don't fall for their BS!!!

To stop these calls, call the one who is selling you number. Call 1-800-345-5866 then press 3. Make sure you call them at least 10 times in one day. Company that is selling your number is Carol Wright Gifts. They need to know what it feel like getting these stupid phone calls and text messages all day long. As far as Scammers they are on the top of the list.

These folks must have just received a batch of GEORGIA telephone numbers.  They called me today, and thanks to THIS POST, I relaized who it was.  Had a bit of fun with them before I told them to go blow.

Never picked it up.  It is a cell phone number from verizon wireless that is not in use according to the message when you call it back.

Scam artist. Asking for my bank account numbers!!!

Called me today then started meowing on the phone.

The person leaving messages from this number - 318-433-3442-- is leaving a US government number (US Navy HQ) for people to call back to receive their "grants."  I receive at least two such calls every week.  I feel sorry for the people thinking they have grant money coming but this office does not issue grants and this phone traffic borders on harrassment.  I have turned this over to Security for investigation.  Please do not respond to any messages left by this number concerning grants.  I don't know what the scam is but it's definitely not a legitimate call.

just called me.... said there from the government, and said i can get 1000 grant money.. i asked if shes really from the government and she said yes and hung up, so i called back and it said *sorry this verizen wireless number you dialed has been disconnected* O_o ...... been getting pissed latly..  i have had 5 calls today... a few days ago, i had 9 in one day... so much for being on the no call list... been getting really pissy with them.. so i knwo how you feel chris and everyone else!! ugh, one called me and i said *if you dont want to pay my phone bill DONT CALL ME AGAIN!! and tell your other lil friends to do NOT call me..* going to call one of them back and bi*** them out for giving my info out.. i dont care which did it, one of them lil f*ckers will get an earful!

They have called me twice too. I just never answer the phone and no one leaves a message.

This is a massive scam. I picked it up just out curiousity but don't know this number. The lady on the the phone says she's a rep of government of United States & am qualified for $7000 grant because I have no bankruptcy etc. yet you can hear a massive loud background & she can't give a number to call back. She tells you that you can only use it for renovation etc. then specificially ask you what you'll use it for to get info and makes you say okay. She also said "Your grant money is in the Federal bank of New York & can get your money in 1 hr but you can only transfer it wiring bank to bank or through a credit card"  It will only cost me $110 to transfer to my checking account.  She wanted my account info but I said I would have to call her back with it.  She then wanted me to verify my info and I told her I wasn't interested and hung up.  They have been calling and I hadn't taken the call.
