Called my phone while I was in the shower...looked it up and found this thread. It sounds like they are grifting SSN's. Sadly I think it's going to catch a few people.

Received a call from this number about 2 hours ago.  I didn't answer.

I got this call last night, 26 hours ago, didn't answer. Oddly enough the call came thru when I was out for dinner with a friend, and the topic of conversation was automated calls in spanish!

I've got a call from this number 5 minutes ago with the same garbled sound.  I also got a call from a New Mexico number with the same exact garbled sound earlier this week.

Got this call a couple of minutes ago - Spanish recording followed by static. My wife got the exact same call a week or so ago - didn't notice the phone # of that call though. AT&T in NC.

didnt recognize the number so i didnt answer it

This number called me once, hung up, once i hung up, it immeditily called me again. i was so confused and i answered again then hung up on me again. i suggest if it was on a cell phone, contact it, then make it another ringtone so if it is them, ignore it. I hate telemarketers, they piss me off.

got this call last nite at 8 pm west coast. i was so asleep, how dare they. the 318 area code is from central/northere louisianna.

Came in last night,Oct 24th, around 8:30 pm, person talking spanish. We hung up.

Got this call 8:30 pst 10-24-08, some spanish gibberish. I have Verizon

Also my husband received the same call earlier in the day on 10-24-08 he has Altel and a out-of-state number

I just got a call on my cell phone. I didn't recognize the number (or area code), but I picked up seeing as how I got called from another random phone number yesterday. When I answered, there was a recording in spanish. I have no idea what it said, but this crap better stop. I don't feel like having to change my cell number. I just got my phone!

wierd as hell.  got this call twice in the last half hour.  hung up the first time, then it called back about 20 mintues later.  the recording playing when I answered it was in Spanish, but when I called it back, it was some garbage with what sounded like a British accent.  called me on my verizon cell phone

I got a call from this number on my US cell phone at 10:42 AM. I called it from my DR phone and it hung up after exactly 11 seconds. Very strange, I'm with Sprint. Apparently the number must be out of Louisiana since my phone shows that state when the number is typed in.

Just got a call from this number. Tried to call it back and it does not connect.

I also just got a phone call from that number.. it was in Spanish.  I do not speak it fluently but i do understand some of it, and from what I got it was asking something about my money!! what the hell?  sounds like some big scam.  I wonder how they got all these cell phone numbers

I got this call at 8:17pm on 10/27.  No message was left and I did not try to call back since I did not recognize the number.  Looks like someone is selling our cell phone information as they would have sold our land line info. to tele marketers in the past..grrrrrrrrr........  I have a Verizon phone.

The recording sounded English(British) to me!

when calling back it says "this is a travel related call. if you wish to receive more information we will contact you shortly.." WTF...... Also got a spam text message earlier in the day. already deleted it so not sure if it's related.

I have a business cell phone and since the first day of cell phone activation by T-Mobile, I've been recieving all types of sales calls.  I get so much spam calls on this T-mobile business phone that it makes me wonder how much privacy we have with our cell phones.
