Direct tv and dish network are affiliated at some level (i've been told).
They, dish, claim that I owe 15.00.  
I have already placed a letter of dispute-as i was told one story by the company one day and another story another day. (What kind of training do they give their minimum wage staff?)  And they left their eyesore dish on my roof for me to remove!
My credit card company stopped payment on them or else they would have gotten the tiny disputed amount along time ago.  How much man hours do they waste on this kind of stuff?  I know some have large bills that should take some kind of responsibility as our country is carrying a lot of people who might be able to work but don't.  Others have real problems and need help.  Wow, what a mess.

This # called me quit a few times and never answered. Last night I finally talked to Ashly and she had more information anbout me then anyone hasd the right to have. (excpt me of course.) She kept asking me to verify my information to her. When I refused she stated that the phone conversation was over. I called her back 5 minutes later and chewed her out. I also told her she was never to call my # again. We will see how long it will take her to call me back. This # needs to be investigated.

I made the mistake of answering a call that showed only an unfamiliar number on the caller ID.  "Teresa" asked for me or my husband (not by name) and said she was calling for the "CVC" Group  (turns out to be a lie) on a "business matter" and expected me to give her my mailing address.  When I refused to give personal information without knowing the business she was conducting, she got very rude.  I again refused to give her my mailing address and she became threating, stating that she had my name, address, social security number, birth date and place of employment and she said "I WILL FIND YOU WHERE EVER YOU ARE"  She clearly means to terrorize me with threats of stalking and worse.  She lied about her company, what other lies are there.  I do not have a Direct TV account, and I certainly never will now.

I got a phone call from this number as well. Apparantely it's a supposed "collections agency" by the name of CVC for DirectTV. Before I continue, let me just say NEVER CHOOSE DIRECT TV AS YOUR CABLE PROVIDER. I moved and canceled my services with them after 5 or 6 months; well now I get a bill stating that I owe them $250 early cancellation fee and $463.30 transfer balance from another account (I've never had a DIRECTV account before this so that's really fishy). I didn't even know (and don't even remember) I signed a contract; so when I talked to Sara on the phone and asked for documentation stating that I had indeed signed this contract she tells me "oh, it wasn't a written agreement but a verbal one". WHAT!!!! I've never heard of such from a utility company; the only agreements I've ever had with a utility company is I pay my bill and they keep me in service. Needless to say, I've called my attorney to get a handle on this matter. But in the future, I would advise everyone NOT to go with DIRECTV b/c they are full of it and need to be forced out of business or forced to change their ways. I guess they have to try and force their customers to stay with them not by their good service but by trying to force a contract on you. DON'T DO IT!!!!

This so called "Scott West from DirecTV" should first learn how to spell and then learn how to type.  Secondly, DirecTV is a rip off!  I had DirecTV and after a bad hail storm my satellite was damaged and when I called about it they all of a sudden tell me that I have to pay for the repairs and labor as I had no maintenance agreement and wasn't paying them 5.99 a month extra.  This is a bunch of crap and I've heard these lies being told to many other people.   Funny how the DISH Network doesn't do this! Please!  If DirecTV didn't screw people like this they WOULD pay their bills!  And on time!  Don't be a jack***!

Seems to me like this "Scott West" fool works for CBE!  I can't imagine a large company like DirecTV dealing with a company who screams, yells and threatens people!  That's highly unprofessional and would hardly get them further business from new customers!  I

I would love to be around old "Scott" when he comes upon hard times and can't pay his bills on time!  He'd probably be the biggest whiner around.

"jack***" huh? It's funny that you say someone needs to learn how to type , maybe you should proof read before YOU submit. Does any body realize that satellite companies have to pay an installer to set up the system , that is why there is a contract. If they didn't they would loose a great deal of money , since most people are to ignorant to take a minute and learn how to use the system. They give up and go back to what they know.

They have called me non stop, every day, in about 8AM.
I never answere cause it is from a recorder. May be they set up the recorder to call.

Do they every stop. I had a disputed amount (because the medical filers could not get the code right) go to CBE. It is less than $100 and was more than 4 years ago. I am NOT giving or verifying any personal info just because someone asks for it. I do not trust CBE or what they would do with my personal info in the future.

WOW!  I just spoke with Billy from CBE and he had entirely too much personal information on me!  I then called direct tv to ask why they had so much personal information and they couldn't tell me!  Don't send CBE any money or such because it isn't worth ruining your credit over!!

I just called the number and very directly told them to remove my number from their database, mentioned that it was a work cell phone as well.  They asked if I was a certain individual and I said no and I had no idea who the person was.  If they call again I'm going to report them to the FCC.

Don't pick up the phone when they call....it's better if you call them when your ready to talk.. I believe there are two different departments that handle incoming and outgoing calls. Of course the people handling the outgoing attempts are going to be more aggressive since that is their specialty. When I called back, I spoke to a nice young lady who helped me with my transaction. It's better to follow-up on your terms, but I also advise, don't ignore them either. If you owe money to anyone, credit cards, mortgage, car note...never ignore the creditor, they'll be more than happy to try and arrange some type of deal so they can get paid. Communication is key. And also as a side note.....never get DirecTv, I've had such horrible experience with them and I absolutely hate the fact that you have to sign a yearly service contract. My thoughts and expectation are that DirecTv will have to loosen their terms and conditions or business will continue to plummet as competitors become offer more flexible services to meet our needs.

These people call me 2 to 3 times a day.  I refuse to verify my address over the phone, then they ask me if my ss# would be better, duh,  if I won't verify my address, what makes them think I will verify my ss #.  If they would tell me what they want, I will talk to them, but I refuse to verify any information on me.  If they have it already, why ask me?

I absolutely agree with everyone who has said NOT to get DirecTV service...EVER!  I don't answer any number I don't recognize, and I have never received a voice message from this phone number, so I guess they can just keep trying to call me as much as they want and I will continue to not answer!  DirecTV automatically withdrew nearly all the money that was in my checking account without ANY notice at all...leaving me nearly starving for two weeks before my next paycheck was deposited, and after this extremely horrible experience, I have vowed NEVER to deal with DirecTV again, and have warned them NEVER to contact me again.  And I have the bill that they sent me that states I don't owe them anything to prove that they shouldn't be contacting me!

It only took me about two weeks after I signed up for DirecTV to realize that it was a huge mistake, and even though I'd only signed up two weeks earlier and was completely disatisfied with the DirecTV, I was already locked into a 2-yr. contract and would have had to pay $350 to cancel the service that I had only had for 2 weeks!  I understand the idea of a company asking for a contract, but when a customer is blind-sided by fees they were not notified of when signing up for the service, and receives absolutely ZERO service when they contact the company, this should be adequate grounds for terminating the contract without early cancellation fees.  If the customer's reasonable expectations of the service are not met, they should not be trapped into paying the company several thousands of dollars over the life of the contract for circumstances that would be impossible to foresee at the time they signed up for the contract!

I don't owe DirecTV money...have never used them, because of bad reviews from a friend of mine (who is a DirecTV installer, if that says anything!).

This number has called me 6 times today, and they never let it ring long enough for me to even get to the phone, much less answer it and see who it is and what they want. It stops ringing after 3 rings every time.
