CBE group (a collections agency) called me up from this number looking for an acquaintance of mine (I have **no clue** how they connected me with her).

This # will not stop calling me! I bought a new cell and recieved a new # with it. The previous owner of this # must have been a real dead beat (and porn star, judging by the messages I recieve) one message I saved reads like this; Miss China I watched one of your videos and would like to film you. Miss China, you need to contact these people and give them your new #!!!

This phone number is from The CBE group which is a collection agency who acts on the behalf of the U.S. Department of Education to collect student loans that have gone into default. My fiance' is currently making payments to them to get caught up on a student loan he owes on. At first we thought that they were an independet agency trying to collect personal information by using the DOE as a front but they are legit and can be very agressive and sometimes rude when trying to conduct their business. Bottom line is if they have been employed by the DOE to collect a student loan from you then that means your loan is in default and they have the authority to garnish your wages if you don't cooperate or continue to ignore their calls. I know because it almost happened to us. No one like bill collectors but the best option you have is to work out a paymemt arrangment with them to avoid having a huge chunk or your check being garnished.

This # keeps calling even though I've basically told them to f**k off. I have a new cell and # and would think the people trying to contact the previous owner of this # would get a hint that it no longer belongs to them.

they already knew my info... they rep the US dept of education, they were after my old school loans

These people have called me about 12 times now at all hours of the day or night I work nights and they continually wake me up and they have a very bad attitude and i have told them to stop calling and they keep calling me anyway.

They have called me at least 6 times even though I have them blocked.

Have received numerous calls from this number, no messages. Luckily my cell phone has a block feature so they are now blocked.
