This company has been calling for months.  They call early in the morning, and late at night.  Obviously they are trying to catch someone, but for the many, many MANY innocent people they are calling, a late night call wakes the house up and causes your heart to race thinking it's an emergency.  They give the information so quickly that of course you can't even hear the call back number.  Today they left a 9 rather than 10 digit number when I picked up this morning.

I blame AT&T as well.  They offer no way to block harassing calls without police or costly measures.  Best to cancel the phone - they make you pay to be unlisted rather than listed and that's a scam in itself.  Just because you have a phone, why does that give them license to publish the number publicly?  This leads to this type of harassment repeatedly.

Collection companies, finance and insurance companies can often disregard the Do Not Call lists - arguing that they have related business if they've bought the information from your bank, etc. They are then deemed affiliates.  Likewise debt collectors use that logic to disregard.  They use many different numbers in case you block one of them.

Today thanks to this list I found a number to return the call to the company.  At first they said they were not calling my number, but then the woman (who was very nice -- they must get yelled at all day) transferred me to someone who did know why they were calling.  It was some name that I'd never heard before.  I've had this number for over 20 years - so obviously their screening process is substandard.

However, a  call to 1-888-887-5430 did bring resolution, or so they've represented.  Time will tell.  If it does not I am canceling my phone and transferring the service to another provider.  The agents, however, were very nice to deal with and wish I'd found this site sooner.  Thank you to all who posted.

I probably have received "OUT OF THE AREA" pre-recorded calls (woman's voice) in excess of 50 times over the past several weeks. One time I picked up the phone to speak to a human being and there was none to speak to. I want to report these SOB's.

Collection agency trying to recover a Diret TV debt that Direct TV tried to recover 7 years after the fact once a new tenant plugged in the old receiver. These collection agencies need to understand dialing my phone is never going to recover a debt that should have never been applied to my account anyway. That is why I will never subscribe to DirecTV ever again.

Calls constantly. Never leaves a message. Other reports say this is a debt collector, but I do not have debts. Extremely annoying.

After owning my new cellphone (but a previously owned phone number) for several
months, today I received two phone calls from this number. I didn't answer and no
message was left. I then checked here at 800notes.com and realized that the unwanted
phone calls would probably continue indefinitely unless I took action. I dialed this
number and after navigating a menu that's too long, I spoke with a pleasant employee
and explained the problem to her. She said she'd have my phone number removed
from the debtor's account. It's now been three hours since the last call. Time will tell
if the unwanted calls have ended.

They do not leave messages at all. It is annoying and they call and do not leave messages. If it's so important, they would leave messages and identify themselves.

I don't have time to deal with 3-4 calls a day from this number. I never answer and they never leave a message. I have no debts.

My minor sister got a call from this number. No mesage left and she didnt answer. Hasn't had phone long enough to give number out to all of her friends. This is unacceptable.

They have called (12) times in the last three days, (0700 to 2200Hrs)

It doesn't matter. They call everybody with the last name that matches who they are looking for. Also, it is possible the phone number you have at one time belonged to the debtor as phone numbers get recycled. It's also possible a deadbeat used your number as a contact. There lots of ways it could happen, I just wish there was a good way to make the calls stop.

Called my number at 12:01 pm. 02/19/2014.  I did not recognize the Iowa #, & I answered real quick & hung up real quick.  I don't want to be bother with this type of call.  I am on a "do not call list"!  I wished these people would stop bothering on their private cell phones!  

This is a new pre pay number, you are burning my minutes, dont have any debt, dont have DTV so stop calling me. They dont leave a message, have no idea who called. reading this post here is that I figure is.

They are trying to collect a debt from the person that had my phone number previosly.  I called them at 319-432-7619 and spoke to a customer service representative.  I told her who I was and that this was my new number.  I then asked her to remove my number from her call list - she immediately said she would do so.  So I would suggest calling them back if you don't owe a debt.  Then they will not bother you anymore.  

EVERY DAY THE PHONE RINGS LEAVES NO MESSAGES FROM EARLY IN THE MORNING TO LATE AT NIGHT. IF YOU ANSWER IT, THERE AN ANSWERING MACHINE TO AND WANTS YOU TO REMAIN ON LINE FOR A LONG TIME. WHO EVER IT IS NEEDS TO STOP!!!!!

This computer calls my number 2-3times a week at 8:00 am. When it leaves a message, it says to call a certain number. When I called, the number is not in service. These are nothing but nuisance calls. I'm having that number blocked.

This number calls my cell phone every day twice a day. There is never anyone at the other end of the line when I've answered.
