This phone # came up as "Lower Taxes" in our caller ID. We do not answer nor return calls from unrecognized phone numbers unless they leave a message stating who they are and the reason for the call; which of course they did not.

I received the IRS call, too.  It shows Mt Vernon, IA, as location.  When I checked out the Do Not Call List, it is closed due to the government shut-down.  I believe that is why these calls are leaking through.

I have recently retired and I cannot believe that amount of these stupid robo calls I get a day.  The do-not-call list is useless!

Got a call from this number and looked it up. Says that it's from Iowa city or Cedar Rapids. They did not say anything and when I called back the same thing happened.

Got the call 5 mins ago.  I only picked it up because it was from my area code.  I should have left it go.  It was a tax settlement robot call.

You know when its a robot call it a scam

Robo message saying that Obama has requested the IRS to settle my outstanding tax debt. Last I knew, I wasn't in tax debt with captain O-merica. Just another number added to the blocked call feature on the iPhone.
