DIDN'T ANSWER

This number keeps calling me every day but I've nevered answered. I don't have any debt. Sounds like a scam or telemarketer but I'm on the Do Not Call registry. Any other ideas on why I am getting called?

Appears to be a computer dialed cold-calling operation.   When the answering machine picked up, it recorded music then dropped.   Called twice a day for several days the week of 9-20-2010.

Got same conditions with this caller.

Don't know what they want or trying to sell, but is it really annoying.  Need to find who is calling so I can report them for violation of do-not-call listing.   I have absolutely no debt and owe no one.  I will work as relentlessly as they do to get them penalized for violation the DNC.   Just another outrageous computer dialed scum.

Another call from CBE tryig to collect someones debt.   No details on what it may be about.  Hard to talk to auto dialer.  Pure a**hole collection company.

Sept. 8,   5:15 pm            Recieved call from this number.. no response, only music.  caller ID showed CBE Group...  Another one on log for legal action report.

I received a call from this number (319-833-1300) on my cell phone.  They called with an automatic voice that put me on hold.  When a live person answered they said they were looking for so and so. I told them I was so and so and they asked me asked me again.  I again told them I was.  They then asked a third time.  I finally told them to get to their point or I was hanging up.  
Their reply was that if I could affirm I was the person they were looking for they would have to hang up.  Several have said it is a collection agency, but if so they sure having crappy practices.  

I wouldn't trust them at all.

It is the CBE Group and it's a collection agency. Possibility of a scam.

This number called me today, 2 hours after missing my 9:30 am wake-up call from cbe. I have never talked to CBE as me, but I have told them that this is the wrong number & they have kept calling daily for over 3 months! Yesterday, I got calls from both this, & the regular CBE number that shows CBE as well as the number. They both come from Waterloo, Iowa, so I'm sure they are both CBE. It seems that their only intention in this world is to annoy people since they do not collect a dime. Perhaps they should list themselves as a non-proffit organization....LOL  :-)

I just received a call from this number for an ex contracted employee. I asked the name of the company 3 times and the girl Cathy would not give me that information. She said she would call back for the person and I said no you won't you will tell me the name of your company. Then she preceeded to say that it was a personal business matter. I told her she has the wrong number and she said she would note the information on the file. We will see if that happens. What gets me is whoever this is, possibly a collection agency, not the IRS because they do not use collection agencies, you would think they would look up the phone numbers they call first to see if its someone elses number other than who they are trying to find. They are not too intelligent.

The one above is correct - it is CBE, a collection agency which is annoying but not a 'scammer'.   I called the # back today & asked why they were calling  - they said they were trying to get in touch with ....man's name....I said they had the wrong #.  He said they'd remove it from their list.   and NO, they didn't ask & I didn't give  any info other than the phone # to remove.    I'll let ya know if it works.  I know some have said it didn't work but unless they are morons,  I can't imagine why any business  would want to waste time calling a # that they are going to >  A. get no money or results from  and/or  B. not sell anything to -   which is the only reasons why any business would want to call u.    So unless u r  really the person they r looking 4 & if u truly DON"T owe anyone $,  tell them it's a wrong #, that should take care of it.    Otherwise I thk they'll keep calling hoping to get their "man".    Bill collectors can be notoriously stubborn...which, if someone really owes money is understandable.

As for the person who mentioned Quest ......if you look at the reverse # look up...it shows the number is a landline and the carrier is Qwest (like ATT or Sprint, etc.).  That just shows who the get their phone service from.  just fyi -  The number is in Waterlou, IA      I may just grab my whistle and break their eardrum next time they call me...

Received 2 calls from this # - one on Sat. and one just now, both abround 8am.   I don't answer -  I have no debt of any kind either.    I am also on the DNC list, but not sure if it is time to renew that thing since you have to do it every so many yrs if I recall correctly.

I would suspect this is a scammer number that has somehow managed to get a call list. If you  are on the DNC list and get these calls for services, there is a problem.  Further, the IRS DOES NOT CALL YOU, they send letters.  Upon reading all the other posts and the numerous companies this number is supposedly associated with, I would suspect if this person/persons could be caught you would find some serious theft/fraud/ and other charges that could be brought against them.  I do not ever recommend answering this number and if you do....glean all the info you can and turn it in to the authorities.  319 area code is from Eastern Iowa....CBE does exist here in Iowa but no representing any of the companies that you all have listed above.  Keep reporting until these jerks are nailed.

This is a medical debt collector...for Quest Corporation, not the IRS...pay your medical bills and they will not be calling you.

I get a call form the same number,but I dont' answer it. I don't know who it is calling, but i am going to call the number back to see who it is, and I will post here. calling now!  Well it must be  debt collector because no one anounces a company name.

I'm also on the "do not call" registry and have received countless calls from this number - often as many as 5 times a day, between 8AM and 9PM. Since I don't pick up, I have no idea who's calling, but, as I have no debt, I doubt it's a debt collector.

I have been getting calls on my cell from this #.  I decided to answer it today and sat on hold for 15 mins listening to "Please hold while your call is being connected."  I wanted to talk to someone and chew their a**, but I got bored and hung up.

This number calls my cell phone before or after they call my house phone. Never leaves a message. But its from CBE Group. Which Im very sure that it is working for the IRS and want to talk about making a payment plan or something. I never answer, because I never gave them my number. Dont know you or the number..Im not talking to you.

these JACKHOLES call me at least 5 times a day... I never answer, and they never leave a message. they even call on sundays !!! I've called them back and have been put on hold, so today, I finally answered and put them on hold for 35 minutes then came back and told them that I was busy and if they could leave a message, they promptly hung up . I own my own business and don't have time for tese games. I suggest we give them a taste of thier own medicine ! like I said they're JACKHOLES !!!!

This isn't an actual collection agency, that if you had read anything that was written before this. It is some sort of scammer that tries to prey on the people that are already hard on money. So check your sources before you try to blast people. Some people have legitimate reasons for accidentally go in debt. So for everyone else on here, how about you stick to topics you actually know about, ok?

Hi, these people keep calling me asking for my boyfriend. But giving his old address. They call about 5 times a day, saying that he owes a verizon bill for 83 dollars. He does not. We have verizon service now, and we pay the bill every month and it's not even in his name. He has never had verizon service before. This has to be some kind of scam if they are identifying themselves as people from the IRS and VERIZON.. just thought it was weird. I yelled at them and told them never to call my phone again, so let's see if it happens.

ok so im kinda wondering if they clled u and didnt varify a piece of info like ur address or ssn and u have a name kike john smith,, they could be talking to just any one of course they ask u to varify they dont intend on calling u and not telliing u why they are not calling im sure u wouldnt want ur personal info just giving to the wrong john smith. its a yes or no question u either are the correct person or not. and also the collections calls by law are 8am and 9 pm. they can call u at 855 if they want, just pay the bills its not vey hard they work with u on arrangments 3 year old accts with out even 10 dollars is ur own fault and that just makes ur credit and life harder, they are doing there jobs how do u think companys make money if they didnt have collection agencies then no one would ever pay, things in life are not free they understand that times are hard but sitting on the sofa stating that u havent worked all year at ten am watch jerry springer is not a good life choice im sure they wont keep u on the phone u cant get blood from a turnip so they would prolly rather call the next person. i dont like when ppl put collectiosn down its sad. ya some places are horrible but now a days every thing is recoreded..come on mow grow up

This same group called a friend of mine's cell phone.  This one at least identified himself as Nate at 1-800-899-7051.  They must be inundated with calls, because I've been on hold 31 minutes so far.
