I think it's time to flood the FCC with complaints about these calls. I sometimes get calls from a 1-000-000-0000. Phone company has no idea how they come up with a number like that.

These are literally CRIMINALS who are phishing for credit card numbers.  They are faking their caller ID.  The FTC is working on nabbing them.  Talking to them or asking them to stop calling is pointless (if anything it will get you put on a 'live person' list so you will receive even more calls).  If you feel compelled to fight back, pretend to be genuinely interested but give them fake credit card numbers to pollute their list.

Criminals like these would be much easier to track down if it was harder to fake the caller ID.  Search for the "truth in caller ID" act of 2010 to learn more.

If you are with Bresnan Communications and getting these calls, one of their phone techs told me you can press STAR 60, wait for a confirmation message, then put in the 10-digit harrassing number, and you'll get a message that the number has been added to a blocked list of numbers. You can do this for up to 12 numbers. Well, I'm certainly going to try this!

Yes, I just got the same call from St. Cloud, MN ... same message and I just hang up. Went to the No Call list to file a complain. Last week I called my phone carrier and they supposedly put a privacy block on my number which, obviously, does not work ... or with the Saint Cloud, MN on my caller I.D., the block doesn't recognize it. The other robocalls were from a consumer service with a different number.

the number that displays tracks back to a civic organization in St. Cloud, MN which probably has nothing to do with these scumpuppets. The phone company needs to do something about these people's ability to spoof the caller ID to display a different number.
I just hit one now, wait for them to come on the line, and scream as loudly as I can - if you don't have the voice for it, keep a referee's whistle next to the phone. send them home from work with a bleeding eardrum. I don't have a credit card, they don't have the ability to hear out of one ear.

We get calls from these spoofed numbers several times a week, generally waking us up. We HAVE no credit cards. The "googled" number on the caller ID tracks back to a Tentmakers civic/social organization who I'm sure has nothing to do with the calls.
Since asking them to quit calling doesn't work, I push "1" and when the person comes on the phone i either scream as loudly as I can, rendering the person deaf in one ear, or just begin shouting the foulest obscenities I can imagine. Doesn't get me off the list, but makes me feel better.

I don't have a credit card problem and yet they want to fix it? Sounds like phishing and I hope my IP address isn't compromised by responding here! I can dump my OS and reload clean anyday. Hope I don't need to - if reporting to the FCC does nothing, well, I'm guessing that's what this site is about. If so. screw you b*****ds - I'll shove a telephone pole or cell tower up your a** when I find you!

have received a number of calls from this number. The are making a claim that they can reduce the interest rate on my credit card. Only problem is that I do not own a credit card. When I request to speak to a manager the person on the line claims to be a manager and once i start complaining they hang up

Just called me.  I pickup and dial 1 to lower my credit card rates.  Problem is I have no credit cards, or debt, for that matter.  So I get the guy on the phone and he states I need a minimum of 3500 dollars in credit card debt to qualify.  I tell him I have $17,000 in debt between 5 cards.  He want's the card number for the highest interest rate so I ask him to please hold while I get the card.  I then place the phone next to the tv and 10 minutes later pick it up.  He's still on the line!  I then hang up.

He calls me back and says we accidentally got disconnected.  I told him it was no accident.  I don't own credit cards and I'm tired of them calling all the time so I decided to string you out for awhile since you never honor my requests to no longer call my number.  He got mad and hung up!

I do this everytime they call and the frequency with which they call has decreased dramatically.

Actually, it does no good to go to the national no-call site or the FCC, FTC, state AG, etc, since these are often "spoof" numbers and without being able to really ID the caller, there is nothing they can do -- I know this because I have tried all agencies about these calls.

I got this call and when I heard the message, I listened up to the point to where he asked for an account number.  I said hold on a minute while I get my credit card, then I put the phone down and never picked  it up again.  This will eventually get them to quit calling me  --  I hope.

I called the number back and got a recording saying it was not a working number.

Usually everyone in the house hangs up on these calls but our daughter got a real call from her credit card company after her account had been hacked and we almost missed it thinking it was these people again.

I got a call from the automated 'Bridget' also.  The economy is in the tubes and we are all getting calls like this (I have NO credit debt!) and calls from the so-called charities.  I don't give out any info to calls or money to charities not on my list.  I normally don't pick up any number I do not know, but we expecting one from a friend traveling in MN.  I will once again put a number on the Do Not Call list.  This is getting very old.

I also have no credit card debt and have never filed bankruptcy. I'm getting these same calls from several different numbers. It doesn't help to press 3 and be taken off the list, so I press 1 to talk to an operator. However, no matter how nice I try to be they always hang up when I ask them not to call!
