Rings no body there

I did not receive a call from this number.  Suddenly, my phone spontaneously dialed this number!  I have no idea why?  I have pushbullet installed which popped up a notification on my PC (from my phone) informing me that my phone was dialing this number.  Seriously concerned now!

If you have an iPhone, press the home button twice and it will hang up without them getting to your voice mail. Then block the call.

Answered phone, silence on the other end. If I get a charge I will be furious! My phone is registered with state and federal Do Not Call list. I have no clue who this is. UGH!

i just got a call from this number again, its been a few months, i refuse to call it back

Left a message saying I won a luxury vacation. Pretty sure it's a scam - I never entered any such contest.

I got a call this morning also, didn't answer it and used the block function on my iPhone, getting way too  many of these types of calls as soon as I block the number they call from a new one

I also received a call this morning from them - no voicemail

WRT adding unknown callers who do not leave a message, I do the same.  

One difference being, over a period of several years I now have ?100 numbers in the reject call list.

Add your phone number to the national "Do not Call" register. Give it a couple of weeks and fewer calls will start coming in.  When they do, tell them you are on do not call list and will report them if the activity continues.

That doesn't make any sense.  Other than regular "minutes" if you have such a plan, you can't get charged for "answering" a long distance call.

Sometimes places just call to see if anyone answers or there is a message machine.  If there is they know it's a valid number that someone will answer and then they can sell that phone number to telemarketers.  If you don't recognize the number (especially if it's out of state) don't answer your phone at all!

Just got a call from this number. No voicemail left.

Received a call at 9:52 am EDT and there was no message.  I wouldn't call a number back especially not they did not leave a message.  Glad I came here!  Scammers!

And can you also be charged for the incoming call if your answering machine picks up the call?

I don't understand this at all.

How can Verizon charge you for an incoming call?  If you don't have Caller-ID, you can't check who is calling you *before*  you answer the phone.

And what about spoofed numbers?  Can you also be charged when the calling party uses a spoofed number?

Just got a call on my cell, I didn't answer and they didn't leave a voice mail.  Based on the other comments, glad I did not answer.
