I got a call from someone who said was collecting money for hernando co.frat of police the money was to keep  drugs off the streets of herando co. I said no, then a demanding voice you are not going support us? I said was not giving money to help people that usually deserve it when icalled the sheriffs office it was hard find anyone that  wanted to talk about this, looks like legal fraud  call come from  321 635 8388    trust me letters will going  several offices in state capital in coming days  any body that endorses this kind of tele-marketing is a crook

Today, WFTV channel 9 what do you guys do for a living? Still nothing about the closed down calling room in Rockledge, Fla for FOP District 7 The room was open for 20 years bus. and res. and under mysterious circumstances closed in the middle of the shift 4 weeks ago! aybe the Chinese know!

Let's UPDATE what is going on! The calling office in BREVARD co. for FOP D7... HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN! The stock ans. was that paper-work had not been submitted..and this WAS A TEMPORARY PROBLEM!! That was 3 weeks ago!!! I, and a # of people would like to get a STRAIGHT answer!!!!

Disgusting, they call the day before Officer Pill's funeral, no doubt hoping to take advantage of people's sympathy. I'll gladly donate in person to my local L.E.O.s, but these calls are nothing but shady.

I have received these calls many times with ID "Brevard County" and the 635-8388 number.  I do not even pick up the phone & they never leave a message.  On Feb 29th (2 days ago) @ 7:08 p.m. they called again & I did NOT pick up the phone since I refuse to deal with a known solicitation.  Anyhow, today (2 days later) I received a packet from them indicating "my pledge" of $20 along with the time of call (7:11 p.m.) & "Chuck E" as the guy I spoke with.  This is the 2nd time over the last 2 years this has happened (many phone calls, no messages, and then my so-called "pledge").  They even made up a totally different last name for me on the packet.  Maybe "Chuck E" is getting paid for getting contribution promises whether he actually made contact with anyone or not.  This speaks volumes to me as to what REALLY is going on there!!!

You people talking outta your azz need to get a life.

1. Being on the National "Do Not Call" list will not stop legitimate charities and political phone calls. They are EXEMPT.

2. Calling the Better Business Bureau or Chamber of Commerce... won't do a damn thing. They have NO policing power.

3. Calling the FBI won't do a thing either, the call is NO illegal and doesn't fall under anything the FBI deals with.

CALL THE FLORIDA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION AND FILE A COMPLAINT.,

if it is the Fraternal Order of Police calling, find another number for them and DEMAND they stop.

bob. i do work for them. tell me this, if there not a legit organization how have they been around for 40 years? Why would you make your check out to the county you live in? Why would deputies willing give there badge number to verify that our organization is legit? Im sure you cant answer those questions so feel free to come in and talk to mark, he is the boss. our address is 566 barton blvd #8 it is in rockledge and its in the barton plaza. I keep getting calls from Brevard County Fraternal of police and told them tonight I have reported them to the police department...mabey they will quit!  This is a scam!

They called my house and my partner picked the they asked for a donation my girlfriend told them to get a life. they never called again. Thank You.

It is legitimate, they are based out of each county, they are a non-profit.  Ask them to mail you their package instead of giving it over the phone.  They will send a bill for whatever donation you agreed to, a decal for your car and usually 2 tickets to a local police event (this year we got tickets to the 5th annual Law Enforcement Comedy Show in Orlando).  We have been supporting them for many, many years.

That's hardly fair to the local police who have nothing to do with scam. At least know what your talking about before you slam law enforcement!

the same thing is happening to me

I am receiving calls at night from this number first time they rang only 2x the 2nd time I picked up voice was low and muffled and then they hung up. bad connection also. I called back no answer only recording

Sorry.   Your sleazy reputation precedes you.   Play all the games you want, but the vast majority of the funds go to admin costs for either fund raising or FOB  expenses, paying for FOP operations-- including the of hotel bills for FOB administrators-- and political donations to FOP friendly politicians.   You are not a charity, you are a political action committee and posing as anything else is pure deception.    Most unions, professional organizations and PACs derive their financing from their membership; the FOP is the only organization I know of that poses as a "charity" in order to solicit the general public for funds to finance their political and professional agendas, not to mention perks for their leadership.   The fact that thy are cops makes it doubly shameful.

Called at 5:43pm on 10/6/11.   Didn't leave a message on my answering machine.  Only thing on the caller ID was the word "county," so they are back to disguising who they really are-which I believe is illegal.      It's the FOP District 7 (I know from past calls)  and wouldn't give these creeps a nickel.   They pose as FOP employees and have even told me the contributions are tax deductible--both totally false.   And they keep over 75% of donations, going to "administrative costs."     It's a new FOP number for me so it got past my call blocking, but they are on the list now.

I'm betting you are part of this scam pretending to be regular person who has been called. Do you have no shame you cumbag.

An accountant friend of mine told me that she was once hired by an organization that served to collect donations for the FOP. She stated that although some of the monies collected do go to the FOP, it is an extremely small amount. Her perception was that it was simply a way for a scam organization to function legitimately. She quit as soon as she learned how they operated.
