THIS IS A SCAM.  I had the misfortune to fall prey to these people. I gave them my credit card information and they charged my credit card $995.00 U.S ($1100.00 Cnd).  When I called to ask to speak to Sylvia Lepin, what a surprise, no answer.

Please do not fall victim as I did.

These people have been calling us incessantly since June.  It's especially frustrating to my Mother and Step-Father who are both Elderly and find it hard to rush to their phone only to find someone is acting like a Child playing games.
I finally got so frustrated I dialed *69, wrote down the number and used my computer at work to investigate into who these people were.  Since it wasn't an 800 number I thought it would be some bored Kid using their Cell phone to bother people.
They've called twice in the last three hours.  This time I'm reporting them to BBB and other Authorities.

They're still calling.  I have seen this regularly.  Next time I'll make a point of speaking to the rep. and I'll tell them that they can go * themselves.  (Use your creativity here, folks.)

Received a call @ 12:58 p.m.

No message left on answering machine when I didn't pick-up.

From the comments above, that was probably a good thing.

TIP NUMBER ONE

ACCELERATED SAVINGS, INC. of FL and UK
OFFERING LOWER CREDIT CARD RATES WITH COLD CALLS

Accelerated Savings, Inc.

Website : http://acceleratedsavings.com/index.php

(321) 409-9095
(321) 735-9689
(321) 735-9688
Melbourne, Florida 32901

BBB has been receiving inquiries from consumers regarding the above-mentioned company that is cold calling people offering to lower their credit card rates by simply joining in a 3-way call to each of your credit card companies and negotiating lower interest rates with you by way of phone.  The business stays on the phone while the consumer confirms all security measures taken by the credit card companies to confirm the identity of the caller and then they proceed to talk to the CC company while the customer sits by and listens.

BBB ADVICE

There are many red flags to this approach to debt reduction offers via phone. RED FLAG #1: You don?t know who exactly you are dealing with when an offer cold calls you like this. When do you get time to do research to make sure it is a valid offer? RED FLAG #2: You have to confirm or verify personal information over the phone without knowing who you are dealing with. RED FLAG #3: You don?t get a chance to read a contract, or understand terms and conditions of the offer. RED FLAG#4: Your negotiations can end up merely verbal, with nothing in writing.

BBB offers the following advice for consumers who receive calls from companies offering to lower their interest rate:

? Never give personal information, including Social Security, bank or credit card numbers, over the phone to an unknown telemarketer. Always research the company first by reviewing its Reliability Report at www.bbb.org.
? When considering any company offering any type of financial assistance, insist on getting a contract in which all terms and conditions are clearly explained before signing up or providing credit card or other payment information.

First time they called, I asked for the "conditions" of their offer after asking for the lady's name - the name she gave could have been anything under the sun.

She continued with her yakking until I asked again, "what the conditions were".  Big blank and then she hung up.

Now, whenever they call, I put them on the speakerphone without answering to tie up their lines.

Just got all call, all above would be true and should be followed. Please note they don't stop calling, at least once every few weeks, you think they would get the hint when you hang up. Too bad it just says Florida on my caller ID otherwise I would not pick it up but I do and it is the same recorded voice for card holder services.

I just received a call (long distance ring) from Accelerated Savings Inc. I picked up. The greeting seemed to be pre recorded. There was an option to speak to a live operator which I used (press 1). The representative did not introduce herself nor did she mention the company name or her first name. She merely said, "I understand you pressed 1 to discuss lowering your credit card interest rate." I said,  "I pressed 1 because I have a few questions on the nature of this call." I proceeded to ask her who specifically in my houselhold they were trying to reach. She replied the person who's name would be appear on the phone bill. Sensing a scam, I also asked her which credit card(s) this assistance covered. She said Master Card and Visa. I proceeded to ask for the company name. She said she represented Accelerated Savings Inc. When I pressed for a website address, she sounded like she couldn't hear me and hung up.

I realize that people are desperate both the cons and the conned. Please be reminded that business is still best conducted face to face. DO NOT give your personal info over the phone or internet. I have the advantage of a sales background and know some of the tricks and persuasive arguments/tactics people (cons) can use. One is phony familiarity; they may already have a few general pieces of info about you which they may use to goad you into believing you've done business with them before or that they came by your information from a trusted source. Dont buy it.

Stay alert!
