321-999-0000 called me and to tell that I had a hit on my Visa card for $700 from California on Amazon. The name he use was
Sanyo Braun. What caught me off guard was that I made a purchase 3 days earlier from Amazon using my Visa debit. Well I messed ups and gave him my debit card number not thinking I gave him the info. He also wanted my wife's info and told him to call in an hour. After I realized what I a stupid thing I just did I called my debit card service and had them cancel my card. In the meantime and hour later he called back with unknown caller id and hung up on him. A few seconds he call back and left a message on my phone recorder and called me a stupid m'fer. He was right I was stupid enough to give my information.

Man with a very thick accent, perhaps India or Pakistani, claimed his name was John Smith and was calling from Visa or MasterCard company about a $700 charge on my card from California.  I asked which card as I have both, he couldn't tell me.  I asked which bank, he couldn't tell me.  I hung up.  He called back asking why I hung up and I told him because I don't know why he is calling he again repeated that he was John Smith and he was calling about my Visa or MasterCard and to tell me about the $700 charge..... I asked again, which card and he couldn't tell me.  I asked which bank and he said "Uhh, Chase?"
He wanted me to approve the charge, I said no.  He wanted to verify my statement information and last payment and asked if I had my card, I said I didn't.  He said go get it.  I said I would need to go find it and asked for his phone number, he said he didn't have that information.  I said goodbye and hung up.

Same thing happened to me. Not thinking the guy Sanyo Braun got my debit card number. He told that a $700 purchase was made that day to Amazon account in California. What caught me is that I made purchase 2 days prior from Amazon. Of course like an idiot I gave him more info than I should have. I immediately called my debit card service and cancelled my card. Be aware Visa service will never ask for your card number because they already have it. What I did was very stupid. So be aware of these thieves.

Prank Call
My wife received a call from this number telling her that she had a delinquent payment on her card.  When she told them that she doesn't have any credit cards, the caller (whom she said sounded like he was from India) started asking about her preference in lingerie, cup size, nipple color, etc.

I have pretty  much the same story.  Phone rings, I answer, blah blah blah about lowering my interest rate.  When he asked me to "verify" my cc number, I told him I wouldn't give it to him & if he was calling from Card Services, he should already have my number (I knew he didn't).  He continued to pressure me so I said politely "No thank you" and hung up.  He IMMEDIATELY called me back and said "why did you hang up on me".  So I asked him if he would give me a lower rate if I did not give him my cc number.  He continued his sales speech, I asked him 4 more times and he wouldn't answer and was getting ticked off at me.  I kept saying this is a yes or no answer question and repeated my question.  He continued to talk about the deal but wouldn't answer the question so I finally hung up.  I am also on the do not call registry.  This company apparently doesn't have to abide by it.

I received a call - automated, saying to press 9 if I wanted to lower my APR. An Indian man answered and was very polite, until I refused to give him my credit card number.  I said I'm not comfortable giving that over the phone, and said goodbye and hung up. They immediately called back, asking why I hung up. I said I was not giving them any personal information. He said he wasn't going to ask for it, just needed my account information to give me a lower percentage rate. I then asked "Yes or No, you want me to give you my credit card number." He answered no, then yes. I again, said I wasn't giving him my numbers and told him I was on the National Do Not Call Registry. He then became argumentative, saying, just give me your information. I again said I wasn't giving him anything and I was hanging up. He said, "If you hang up, I will call you back, and keep calling you back". Then we got into a heated discussion, and he ended telling me to "f*** off, you f****ng bi***".  This is absolutely out of control.  Will someone please catch these people??????

So, I get these calls from Financial Services all the time.  This time was a little different.  Same Financial Services bs.  I hit the button to speak to a rep and requested to be removed from their call list (yeh, i know it's useless).  He (in an Indian accent) asked me to hold while he transfered me to that department.  After a bit on hold, he came back on the phone asking if I wanted to lower my interest rate.  My lunch was still cooking, so I had a few minutes to play.  So, I said, "Sure!"  Then he asked how much I owed.  I made up $1800.  Then he asked if it was visa or mastercard.  I claimed Visa.  He asked if I had it handy, and I said, 'No...Can you wait?. "  He said, "Sure!"  So I put the phone down and went to finish making lunch.  After about 5 minutes or so, I went back to the phone and he was still waiting.  I admitted I was just kidding and would not give a credit card # over the phone.  I know he's a scammer and I've kindly asked many times for them to quit calling me.  Then I hung up.  He called right back and used my name and asked me how old I was.  I refused to give any personal information to him but he pressed for my age.  So, I hung up.

I report this to the FTC and my state's attorney general, but I have yet to hear of anyone who has gotten an iota of assistance.  Wish we could put the kabosh on these yahoos.

I received same kind of call from clay mathews from financial services.  After I gave them all my info to lower interest rates I felt a horrible urgency of regret.  I told them to cancel everything, called by bank and they put a block on my charge and is sending me a new card...different #.  I am very upset and don't know what to do.

My parents got that wonderful call, from a guy who said he is with Visa/Mastercard wanting to lower their interest. I live next door and luck would have it I happened to go over at the right time. However when my father gave me the phone to speak to them, I asked what is the name of the company all he would say is V/M - no bank name. Finally he said  Bank of America - and I told him they did not have a BOA cc- he said ATT and then the guy verbally screamed at me - cursing - calling me a F****ng B**** Wh*** Sl** and so on, I just want to lower their rate for a one time fee of $600+.  Of course being the hot blooded Italian that I am, I gave it it right back to him and he hung up.  I immediatley called the CC company - they did not authorize such a call and we cancelled their CC.  So, since they are not the first to receive such a phone call - what can be done about this?

Rec'd a call from Financial Services - the original number was from 813-999-0000 pressed 9 got hold of a Hillary Watson (didn't sound american) she said she was in the Phillippines they already had info about me info you could get from the credit bureau.  When we were done talking sent me to another   number to confirm and to setttle up the "low interest rate process"  these guys were suppose to be in Orlando Florida.  When I asked for their phone number so that I could call back because I wanted to verify with Credit Card Companies that they were legit there was a lot of fast talking about there was no call back number and that if I didn't finish up with them at this time would not be able to safe me money on my interest rates.  Hung up and that was when Hillary called on the 321-999-0000 number came across.  I then proceeded to change all my card numbers and put in a fraud alert with the credit bureau

SCAMMERS! Someone calling to verify credit card information, (that the company should already have) and says they want to take about "lowering interest rates." Called credit card company to double check and no surprise, it was not them. DO NOT give out your info to these scammers. They are targeting the elderly as well. They call every hour and do not seem to get the message.

same as all the above. First call was from 567-248-4400. After asking my wife for our acct number I took the phone and started asking them questions. Looong story short I told them I wouldn't be interested, thanked them and hung up. Two return call hang ups 321-999-0000 and 176-753-9440, then the 176 again and they almost demanded to know why I didn't want their deal. I hung up. My wife as we speak is on the phone with Chase. Run screaming!!!!

Got a call from this number and a woman asked me for my age, I would not give the infromation because the person they were asking for was not me. They would not take my number off the list although I'm on the do not call list. After repeatedly asking her to please take me off the list and refusing to provide an age she said "Just give me your age what does it f**king matter" I asked to speak to a supervisor and got a guy named David who "promised" to take my name off the list and handle the matter. Yea sure... I'll get another call tomorrow. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY INFORMATION!!

I too received a call about the same thing as Mosey.  However, the first call was from 408-490-2920, and led me to believe at first they were from Chase.  After a few questions of my own I realized that this was a gimick and they were really not from Chase.  I told the man on the other end that I was all set and was not interested but thank you anyway and goodbye.  Then they called back two more times  from various numbers ie: 321-999-0000 and another one that came up unknown name and number....BEWARE this is not right.

I received a call from this number saying they were from CardMember services and could lower my interest rate on my Chase and Bank of America Cards for a fee $779.  The next man who came on said he was from EDR.  I listened for a while then hung up and called the phone number on my Chase card. They said it was fraud.ulent call. These people are able to tell me my balance, interest rate, last payment amount and date and next payment due and date due. I am more furious with the fact that the credit card companies have not secured finacial information than for the fact that someone is trying to defraud me. This info is supposed to be secure and protected. I blame the credit card co.
