I got the call about 1020pm. Its was obviously bogus. Said my account was locked and to reopen it I had to give them my account number. I troed to give them 12345678901234567 but they didn't like that much. Lol

Received multiple calls on my cell phone, whici is on the do not call registry.  I do not list my cell phone # on anything I can think of (like credit card applications etc), so not sure where scammers would get it.  Scary to think how easily our info can be found out there.
This is obviously more than a one-man scammer calling numbers at all times of the day to people all over the country, not a teenage prank.  Why isn't this somethign that can be legally shut down and investigated?  You figure for every one of us that posts on here, there's 100 that don't, and there HAS to be some people naive enough to fall for this.

Received a call at 9:00 am ET. Automated message that account was locked and to call security. Audio was broken and did not hear if that they gave a name or number.

I got a call yesterday from the La number they told me my bank account was locked and I needed to give them my numbers, passwords, and mothers maiden name. I was so deliriously tired because I work night shift I started laughing uncontrollably the person on the phone got mad at me and told me this is a serious issue and I am acting completely inappropriate. They eventually hung up on me haha!!

They called my cell at 10:30 p.m. A mechanical voice said my account had been lockedand tonreactivate, I needed to enter my 16-digit account number. I plugged in 16 utterly random numbers, hit pound and hung up. Hoping I at leastbwasted some of their time.

Both my fiance and I got calls from this number.one early in the am and one around 10pm. Neither one of us answered and no one left voicemail. After reading this, pretty sure its a scam.

I received a call at 9:00 pm and also showed it was from LA.  Had me a little freaked out because my husband is traveling and en route to Bogota, so I'm glad I googled the number and found this thread.

Got a call on my cell from this number @ 7 p.m. Showed call was from Los Angeles. Since I have relatives there I answer. It was a recorded message stating some account had been locked. I hung up.

Didn't recognize the number so I did not answer. I have been getting a lot of these calls since I started service with straight talk mobile. I am starting to wonder if they sell numbers because my sister has the same provider and the same scams call her as well.

Just got a call from this number. Accidentally hung up and tried to call it back and my cell phone company comes on to say my call can't be completed as dialed. So looked it up here. Glad I pushed the wrong button.

Got a call at 11:40 am, 5-15-14.  Said my account was locked and should press 1, The computer voice was hard to understand. I did not press 1, and hung up. I called back and the cell provider message came on and said the number was not valid and I would have to redial the number.

Call came in at 9:08 am. I do not answer calls from numbers I do not recognize, so I let it go. No message left. Googled the # like everyone else - figured it was a scam and I was right.

Got a call at 1:49 AM.  Did not answer.  Is there not some Federal Law against this?  If not there should be.

They just called me and woke me up actually. It rang for a short time and then hung up. I was baffled why Los Angeles was calling me at 1am in the morning and hesitated to answer. No message was left.

Got 4 missed calls at midnight this evening

Same thing, 12 midnight.  Your account is locked, dial 1.  Hung up.

Called me to report that my acct was locked and then wanted my acct number!

Called at 3:45PM Eastern time on a Wednesday.  Thankfully it wasn't early on a weekend.  Robot voice said my account with "Met" was locked (no idea what that is even supposed to be) and that I should press 1 to speak to a representative.  I pressed End Call instead.

Same thing here today @7 am.  Pressed 1 and then asked to enter 16 digit acct#.  Recording never said what account so I knew it was fishing.  I messed around with it a little more then hung up.  I guess if you entered an acct# it would have asked for the PIN.  Pretty amateur, but bold enough to work on a total sucker.

323-209-2090 called my 86 year old aunt at 5:00 p.m. on May 12, 2014.  My aunt suffers with a slight touch of dementia.  The female caller said she was from Verizon and needed my aunt's debit card number and pin number.  My aunt  said the lady seemed very official and would not take no for an answer.  My aunt gave the lady her debit card number and accompanying pin number.  This shows how easily the elderly can be swindled.  My aunt had enough wits about her to immediately call my husband and tell him what had just happened.  We quickly got in touch with the bank straightened out the problem.  I called Verizon and they told me that Verizon would NEVER call and ask for someone's  account number and pin number, even if they were calling a customer.  Please be aware of this phone number and these evil people that prey on the elderly.

Thanks for all the posts.  Just got a call -- same message, 'your account is locked, press 1' -- I did not respond, but looked it up here.  Ah, no surprise, a scam.

They just called me on Mother's Day, I was thinking that because it was a California call (which I was expecting from a new job soon) I answered. The said 'Sorry, your account has been locked, please press 1 to transfer to the security department", I did nothing, and they hung up. I am sure its a phishing scam and they would have asked for information.

Called at 7pm on a Sunday, hung up when I answered.
