My phone rings, I do not answer. Individual does not leave a message. I do not have caller ID; hence I hit star 69 to identify caller. I call the number and have friends call the number -- no one ever answers. Something strange about that scenerio!!!!!!!!!

I received a call from this number this evening. Person identified herself as being from the Obama campaign. She wanted the max amount of money $2300.00 from me (I have contributed to Obama before). I told her that I would contribute, but would go online as I had in the past. She then asked if I could do $1100.00 at this time over the phone. I said no. She then asked for any amount so that she could "prove" that we had this phone call. I am not sure if she was really from the Obama campaign or not, but would not give any money to someone that I cannot verify. I WILL however go online and contribute again. Go Obama/Biden!

This is apparently the Obama campaign's California office
michelp 2011-06-06 20:46:16 Unknown
No voice mail. I agree, contribute online, this could very well be a scam as there is no way to really verify the caller is from Obama.
jill 2011-06-06 20:46:16 Unknown
I've received a few calls from this number over the past few days. Usually when the Obama campaign calls me they leave a message, but not this number.
Not to mention, I was suspicious that they were calling me from Los Angeles when I live in CHICAGO, I could walk to his national headquarters for crying out loud. Other posts on the actual Obama site say it's a scam. Do not give them money! Stick with donating online. IMHO.
Nikki 2011-06-06 20:46:16 Unknown
Sounds like a scam, never give out your CC# over the phone, if you want to give to obama do it online on his website and you'll know for sure that it goes to the right place.
kelly 2011-06-06 20:46:16 Unknown
it's the obama campaign
SA 2011-06-06 20:46:16 Unknown
Bill Richardson with Obama 08 just called (4:51 CT 9/13/08). When he learned my vote would be Republican, he said he hopes I suffer an accident on the way to my place of voting. Classy.
sickoftelemarketers 2011-06-06 20:46:16 Unknown
Thanks, All. It is fishy that they don't leave any voice mails. I definitely wouldn't contribute to anyone (even charities) over the phone. If I need to, I would do it online after being sure the site is safe.
Lauren 2011-06-06 20:46:16 Unknown
I've had the same experience - they hang up too quickly for me to even answer the phone. If it was truly the Obama campaign, I'd love to donate... just give me a chance to pick up!
Emmy 2011-06-06 20:46:16 Unknown
And yet another call from this number. That makes at least 10 in the last week. The phone rings for a nano-second which doesn't give one a chance to even pick up the phone.
If this is legitimately Obama's campaign, then they need to train these people better.

I don't think this is Obama's LA headquarters. I sense that it is a fake organization that is not really pro-Obama. I got a very jarring recording with no words -- two days in a row from this number. I definitely think it is anti-Obama and/or up to no good. I'm very PRO-Obama, btw. No question, as far as I'm concerned he's the best candidte running. Hope he picks Hilary as running-mate.

I was able to look here while on the phone. The guy seemed very polite. I gave them money by credit card. I hope the call was really from the Obama campaign.
Karen 2011-06-06 20:46:16 Unknown
I wish they'd leave voicemail instead of just hanging up when no one answers.
Bob 2011-06-06 20:46:16 Unknown
Nice phone call from the Obama Campaign...and, of course, I have them money! Go Obama!
Jennifer 2011-06-06 20:46:16 Unknown
Very polite caller identified himself as representative for Obama campaign. We had a polite, no-pressure conversation about donating to the campaign. I told caller I will give it some thought and if I decide to donate I will do it online. Conversation ended politely.

Claiming to be from the Obama campaign; seems to be a scam.
Called twice in the last 2 days.

I received a call from Obama too! The woman was pretty positive, but didn't understand about donating to Obama's personal fund raisers on his website, so she insisted it could not be done. I will donate when I can but I hope she gets a little more training in the mean time.

323-330-1462 have received about 5 calls from this number in 2 days, no messages left.
I support Obama, but this is my private cell phone number and it's annoying.

Just got the call from this number. Message was negative against Mcain/palin - no words of inspiration about Obama team - just negative dish on Mcain. Obama needs to evaluate this tactic fast. Not working.

I have been receiving several calls during the work day ove the last 2 weeks from what appears to be the Obama Campaign.
alidina 2008-09-06 03:36:10 Unknown
i also believe its a scam...i left the official obama campaign number a voicemail about it a few minutes ago and once i get the reply i will post it here..they call 3 times a week and never leave a message...looks fishy
Cklin 2008-08-01 22:53:03 Unknown
I;ve been getting these calls once every other day for two weeks i never answer and they never leave messages which i find odd because when i get campaign calls from my local (Portland, OR) office if i don't answer they always leave messages... maybe it's a scam...
Jace 2008-07-30 21:18:17 Unknown
I've gotten a phone call a day for the past 3-4 days. Very annoying. I don't answer calls from strange phone numbers, especially when I don't recognize the area code. I assumed it was a telemarketer/bill collector, and to find out that it was the Obama campaign is a little disappointing. I would have eagerly called them back or answered the next time if they had left a message saying, "This is the Obama campaign, we appreciate your donation and we'd like to speak with you about what you can do to help Obama in the future." Instead, I get no message or, even worse, messages that don't contain anything except background noise and muffled chatting.
Bad idea.
mikey 2008-07-30 04:40:26 Unknown
I've received 12 calls to my cell phone in the past week, no messages left. So this is what i get for donating to Obama? I'll never make another donation to his campaign, nor will i vote for him. Well, maybe i'll still vote for him, but it is really annoying!
Christen 2008-07-30 03:54:04 Unknown
Phone solicitation lists are built from voter registration records and things like that. You can ask to be taken off the call list, they are pretty good about it. They really should be leaving messages though, how odd. I do phones for the campaign and if it's pretty easy to get your number off ;)
chip 2008-07-29 19:55:08 Unknown
I've gotten phone calls, at least 3x a day, including weekends, at night, etc. I thought this was some debt collection agency, so I didn't answer it. Man, I can't believe this is Obama! I donated already man! I'll do so again but chill with the phone solicitation!
JC 2008-07-29 19:10:29 Political Call
So annoying. I dontated once and am now called several times per day. I called and told them to never call me again. We'll see if that works. I want him to win, but if it does not stop but by election day I might just be too annoyed to vote for him.
richt 2008-07-28 17:11:04 Unknown
Same things as others. 2 calls on Friday. 2 on Saturday. 3 on Sunday.
Jamie 2008-07-28 12:06:08 Political Call
They just keep calling. I have had 4 calls since Friday evening, one Saturday and two on Sunday. Damn Barack-- I am voting for you and donating to the cause- if your going to use volunteers, get them organized and stop bugging the people who do support you and go after the ones who dont!
