Returned the call to this person who claimed to represent the law firm of Andrew Marshall.  Sounded very fishy to me.  He proceeded to tell me about a lawsuit being filed against me for a loa from Cash Advance.  I in turn told him that I have never had a loan with this company. He indicated that this was the parent company and they provide loans all over the country.  I asked him for the information regarding the original loan and asked him if he was aware that hi company was being listed as a scam site.  He said, yes he knew that and hung up the phone.  I am now in the pocess of filing an ic3, attorney general and FBI complaint against Mr. Marc Johnson.  He also represents himself as an attorney.  I would suggest that we all file reports and attempt to have this company shut down.

They are trying to wear your mother down into giving up sensitive information or send them money.  Make sure she does neither.

Don't worry because likely that is all the info they have.  They are trying to trick you into giving up more.  If they call again demand that they give you their name, company, phone number, street address and mailing address so your attorney can get in touch.  That is what I did and they haven't called me back since.

This is a scam.  The caller is trying to get you to give up sensitive information such as your social security number.  As soon as he--calling himself "Alan Carter"--said that I and my social security number were named in a lawsuit and tried to get me to tell him my number, I told him I would do no such thing and demanded he give me his name, mailing address and phone number so my attorney could call him back.  The phone number he gave did not match the one he called from on my phone's display screen and the address was phony.  Do not give this person the time of day.  Make him give up his contact info and tell him your attorney will be in touch and that will likely be the end of it.  This is a scam, nothing more.

As a precaution, I did put an alert on my credit card and banking account.

"Mark Johnson" swindled me out of $1300. I havecalled the local police, the DCI and the Attorney General. Rot in hell Mr Johnson!

I received the same call for two days in a row.  They told me I had to go and get a money gram and send it immediately or the sheriff would come get me for check fraud.  It scared me to death.  I went to our local sheriff's station and one of the deputies called the number.  The guy immediately hung up.

They r scammers tried to get 400 from me some payday loan witch i never had told me i was going to jail and court over 400 dollar unpaid loan .....they need to get busted

Called on 6 Jul and claimed to be a law office and there were criminal charges against someone with a similar name and totally different SSN from mine; I told him (the heavily accented male) that it sounded like a scam and they needed to provide some kind of legit data.  The guy repeated the name (not mine) and SSN (not mine) and I told him no such person or name here and he finally hung up.

Beware of 866 397 3091 also same ppl same scam they called my job for an hour non stop making threats trying to say I was going to jail if I didn't pay them and if I didn't pay them they were going to Sue me for. 12000 dollars on a loan that first was 792 dollars then 1900 then 972 I laughed and told him he was full of crap! He got mad and hung up but called back again and said I needed to pay this with a Walmart pre paid card! I told him he could go f**k himself! I researched this and ABC did a story on this and they have scammed ppl out of over 5 million dollars! They are from India although it shows to be in the united states they aren't! They have some kind of technology that can filter the number for it to look like its from the states! Don't let the jack***es intimidate any of you! If you piss them off enough they will stop! And when you try to call the number after a certain time it's no longer working and the other scam # is just a generic vm box!

They're calling from a call center in India, my husband was getting calls from 320-433-9430 and they were stating he owed money for a payday loan, which we have never gotten. We blocked the number on our cell phones and they started calling from a blocked or unknown number. They now are leaving messages saying that we are lower than beggers and have no self pride. ABC news did a story about these scams on June 7, 2012. I just recieved a call from 323-345-1343, he said his name was Ronny Cooper, and that if he didn't hear from me or my attorney the only thing he can do is wish me good luck. When my husband first started to recieve these calls we immediately changed our bank account information.

Got a call, said I need to call back and settle something or else. I called, he sadi I was being charged with wire fraud, false information, and so on. I asked him to get me proof, he mumbled something and hung up. If they were suing you, you wouldn't get a call, you'd get served a warrant in debt. Don't be pushed around by these nimrods.....

Received a call from this number, very rude man with a heavy accent stating he was a Mike Carter and that either myself or my attorney need to call him b/c there was a complaint filed against me and my social security number. He left the last four digits of my soc on my vm. He told me if I didn't return the call good luck as the situation unfolds on me. I've rec'd three similar calls like this this morning. They are scam artists and they steal peoples identity when they are on the internet. They steal your soc sec number, your drivers license number, your bank account info. Never apply online for a payday loan b/c this is how they steal your info. They put a virus on your computer that mimicks your keystrokes so they can see everything you do. I'm at the point where I need to call the police and report these idiots to the FBI.

Got a call as well. Same situation. They even went as far as to try and call me from a fake number that shows up as the local police station. These guys are good.

I have recieve 21 calls from this number in the last 5 days and today 5 with in an hour. I am not going to give him the time of day because i have all my debits lined out. How can you block a cell so these calls stop coming in. He is calling my work Cell Phone. He said his name is Randy Cooper but has a India accent.

I just received a threatening call from them as well.  I do not even know how they got my number.  They are calling my home, cell phone, and work phone.  I am going to the police station after work to file a complaint

the person that called was very nasty to me.

I got same call today. Very nasty threatening voicemails. Total scam.

i got a call today from that mark guy and he told me my LAST 4 of my ss#/.. thats kinda scarey..

Hopefully !! This same guy threatened me! He said hopefully you have a great day and stay safe !! On My Voicemail !! He also threatened me stating I would get arrested. This is just so crazy. Can you please keep me updated on your family, and what is going on with this loser .

The only thing we can do regarding these numbers is to contact our stated attorney general's office. Fill out a paper and wait. I have been waiting quite some time. Ive been harrassed and told I was going to be "served" with criminal charges and that they needed my lawyers information now or they will arrest me today ! As if. I went on to say I had never applied for a payday loan online and that I do not have one. He verified my social and I asked what is it needed for. This is truly scarey and It is horrible to think that people would do this to others.

Got two calls back to back from them.  He said his name was William Brown on the voicemail. I did not give him the time of day.  I called back to the number that was given to me on the voicemail, which was 323-761-9109.  I told him that the person they were looking for isn't at this number.  He continued to go on and ask about the last four digits of my social security, which was correct, but I told him that I had no idea because I was not the person they were looking for.  He said that they wouldn't call me number any more.  I doubt that.  My identity was stolen which is how I think they got my old info. My bank account is on "restricted" so nothing can be taken out of it without me first authorizing it.  I was nervous when I first heard the phone call, which by the way, I could barely understand from the heavy-accented man.  Clearly, he was reading a script and not doing a good job at it.  Harrassing phone calls are annoying and need to end!  Not to mention, any well-respected law firm of any sort, would have someone who can articulate and speak clearly on the issues at hand.

I'll post again if they call again, if not, I would go with telling them they have the wrong number.

Awesome good for u I received the same call today on my job, I was very intimidated . I decided to do some research about ,this number, it didnt sound right.. Soooooooo I to called and left numerous messages, and called  the police..  Thanku!!!!!!!

this guy is INSANE and will stop and nothing!! he calls my elderly mother CONSTANTLY!! 4:30 AM, 6:30 AM...  all he really does is scream. there is never any effort to even gouge us for $... guess he's waiting till he REALLY wears us down.  this CAN'T be legal. has anyone figured out a way to MAKE THIS STOP???

He called my husbands cell & work #'s both told him that he had criminal charges against him from some check to cash place, we've never used one so we knew is was'nt true, we were concerned that someone had stolen our identity, when I called him back he was very rude and would not answer any questions, he also would'nt stay on the line very long.  I then searched him on line and found this, I then called him back and told him what I found then I hung up on him.  A friend with Federal connections is looking into this for us, hopefully he can get this jerk, and then the sheriff will be on his way to pick him up.mark

I got a call from this number and was given a second number to call 323-761-9109, I got two different names one was Mark Johnson and the second name was Adam Garcey.  When I originally called the second number they gave me one amount that needed to be paid then when I called a second time to get more information they gave me an amount $100.  They informed me that I needed to go buy something called green dot moneypac, which sounds like a prefunded card from what I have read.  The Attorney "Mark Johnson" said that if I did not pay them I would have a sheriff at my place of employment in 1 hour.
