I have received numerous calls from these people saying they are suing me for fraud and to hire a criminal attorney. The debt I owe was cleared through bankruptcy years ago. I was scared at first and called my attorney. She said let them serve you and we will take it from there. Then I did a search and found this site. Thanks everyone!! They are persistent. Warn everybody they call that they are a scam company. I did change the house phone number. I put blocks on both my cell phone and my boyfriends cell phone too!  I have warned work if they call hang up on them. I have also filed complaints with several government offices. So far nothing back! Will let you know when I find something out!

received this call also and was told they were going to serve me tomorrow unless I call this 877 number they gave me, been at this for a year now and they  must think people are stupid, if your going to serve someone you don't tell them and also you don't tell them to call another number to solve it, I dealt with this for along time they are all scammers, unless they send you a legit copy in writing of the debt you owe its fake, by law they have to send you a written copy of the debt document, I have went to lawyers for help but they can't since these people keep changing there name and number once it gets hot for them.
all I can say is don't let them get the upper hand they hate it when you tell them to go ahead or just WHATEVER them to deaf
also if I keep count of how many times I had them saying they were going to serve me I should have been in a Federal Prison by now

One of my clients just called because she has received multiple calls from this number and another number related to it threatening legal action against her, telling her that they are coming to her house and asking for her social security number. They have managed to obtain and call both her home and cellular phone numbers. I tried to call them to advise them to cease however they do not answer. I have advised my client to call the Florida Attorney General's Office and report them. My client appreciates this site and thanks everyone for their help.

Recieved a call today from them looking for my uncle and wanted to make sure someone was home to recieve legal documents for him. I asked the woman how she got this number and she replied that this was the number he listed as a point of contact. Weird but I wouldn't put that past him. I informed her that my uncle has never resided at my number or my address and I haven't spoken to him in almost a year. She appologized, said she remove my number so I wouldn't be bothered further. Something about it didn't seem right so decided to look up the number and I'm glad I did.

I've been getting these calls for about a month now, and I am fed up!!! First they called my home phone two to three times a day and I would let it ring. I don't answer calls that I don't recognize, so no problem. Then it started to get on my last nerves!!! They wouldn't say anything so I would just hang up. Now they have started calling my cell phone as well!!! I don't know how they got my number, I have no payday loans and I don't owe anyone. I guess I'll continue to answer and hang up since they don't say anything when I do answer. For their sake they wouldn't want to answer though, because if they do it won't be pretty!!!! STOP CALLING ME!!!!!!

So, they have taken to calling our number every day now. I have requested repeatedly that they stop calling as:

A: they are calling for a person who does not even live at our phone number.
B: We are on the Do Not Call list and we have asked them repeatedly to not call.
C: we KNOW it is a scam....the whole internet seems to be talking about this!

We have reported them to the FTC a couple of times, but they are not there to follow it up for us personally. But please, anyone getting called by these people should STILL report to the FTC. If enough people do then any action taken will have a better chance at success if there is a bigger case/complaint load to call on.

But the REAL people you should report them to is your State's Attorney. We have done this also. When they called and went through their standard "someone is coming to serve court documents tomorrow" script, I went into MY standard script and the woman on the end of the line, "Emma Allan", just kept responding with a slow "OK", like she had heard it all before. I explained that the person they claimed to be looking for did not use our phone number. I explained that I KNEW it is a scam. I told her that they need to stop calling and that I have reported them to the FTC. She just kept saying that same, slow "OK". As soon as I told her I had (and I certainly HAVE!) reported them to the State Attorney, she hung up on me.

We will see if they call again tomorrow and God help whoever it is on the end of the line if they do.

But everyone should report them to the FTC, the Do Not Call register and their State's Attorney. They are horrible people and need to be shut down.

These people keep calling looking for someone who does not live at this number. I keep telling them to not call but they ignore it. I have reported them to the FTC but I think they know that is next to meaningless. But still, anyone reading this, PLEASE report them. If enough do then something might come of it. The whole internet seems to be talking about this very number calling up posing as some kind of legitimate group. They referred to themselves on this most recent call as, "The Civil Proceedings Division".
But please people reading this, when they call tell them to not call and that you know it is a scam and that you have and will continue to report them. But don't just threaten, actually do it! Report them to the FTC, report them to your state's attorney, whatever it takes, we need to shut this down. The report does not take long and you do it all online. They are disgusting, shameless crooks and they need to be stopped. They are taking advantage of the sad, stupid, weak and desperate. How dare they. B*****ds.

These very same people call me at least three times a week. The reason I laugh at them is I know they bought an old debt my daughter filed bankruptcy on....they will never collect and they are out that money for buying the old debt!!! They should research these things before they buy them. It is also illegal for them to try to collect on a bankrupted debt. They are going to lie to you folks, please do not fall for their scammer lies! They cannot send anyone to your house!! They cannot have you arrested!!  Always keep in mind there IS NOT a debters prison!! They are out money from the get go so they are going to try out landish claims to try to collect that debt. If you do think maybe you might owe something or are not sure if you owe something you have the right to ask for proof on paper of this debt. You have the right to contact the original company the debt is owed to to confirm the amounts owed if any. It is totally possible for these debt collectors to continue to try and collect debts already paid off. DONT BE TRICKED BY THIS SCAMMER!!! Report these people to your attorney general, FCC, FTC and many others. these are just a start. Some tv news commentators also like stories like this, call your local channels to warn the public but NEVER let these jerks scare you into paying anything without solid proof on paper. Believe me I do know my rights and your rights concerning these scammers. They have been telling me for a solid month they were sending someone out with papers, I even gave them the address and told them I would be waiting with coffee and cuffs!!  Havent seen them yet!!!  hahahahahah

I get calls from this number daily and have told them three times to remove me since they are looking for the previous owner of the phone.  Next time they call, I'm going to mess with them and have a little fun.

I have been getting calls (always during the daytime, thankfully) for the previous owner of my phone from all kinds of different numbers and private numbers intermittently for the last year, and I always ask to be removed, but never am.  They always "have paperwork to serve."  At first I though the last owner of the number was in legal trouble, but after seeing on here that it is just a scam, I know what I'm going to do next time they call! :-)

This number called me three times and the imposter debt collector was saying that they will serve legal papers to a lady I never heard of, I told her she was full of sh*t because I heard other people in the background almost saying the same thing. She called me back saying she was going to continue to call this number every single day until I was served. Funny thing is, I AM NOT THE PERSON THEY ASKED FOR!! This is definitely a scam. I had a phone call yesterday and today. I told them they had a wrong phone# and don't know the person they are trying to reach since I have had this phone # for less than a year. I asked her to remove my # from the list and got told by some B to shut up and listen and that she didn't have to remove my # from her list. I have reported it to the BBB and to the FCC.  If they call again I think I will just tell them okay serve the warranty or what ever and tell them good luck hope they find the person they are calling about. Maybe if it pisses them off they will stop calling.

Yep, same for us. Claiming that legal papers were going to be delivered to my address tomorrow for someone who does not even live here. I have no debt and never have. And why on Earth would some random company call, who has no caller ID, just a phone number and city, to announce that "someone" was going to serve legal papers? As annoying as it is I was glad to see so many other people getting these calls who are in the same position. It is great to know that anyone with an internet connection and warn others and share their experiences.
I am so sick of scammers calling. We have a home phone so we can make calls to and receive them from friends and family. It was our choice to pay for a home phone to be able to have a base contact for those we choose, not as a direct line into our home for crooks to hassle us and try to intimidate us. It is awful that they can do this and even worse that, to make it worth it, so many people must just sign over a bunch of money to them to make the fear go away. They prey on the stupid and desperate and it is disgusting. No wonder this country is such a mess. We are our own worst enemy.

Here's something they REALLY don't like people to do.  THEY want to intimidate, etc. and dominate the call.  It seems to really throw them off when YOU TAKE CONTROL of the call!  In fact, they generally hang up on you.  It's been over a month since I've heard from them.  Lol, I think the gal REALLY was trying to take my number off their call list ... and I was JUST beginning to have fun with them.  Oh well....

IF you choose to speak to these people, here are some suggestions:

They call, you recognize the # (probably to say "legal documents to deliver")?You answer the phone, they ask for the person (maybe) ?BEFORE THEY HAVE TIME TO SAY ANYTHING ELSE you tell them the information you REQUIRE:
You: What is the
1-Company name,
2-Company address
3-Local telephone number of your company AND
4-Name of company?s CEO/President's name
5-What is your CCA#

Them: "Well, we don't give that out for 'security reasons.'  "
You: "I'm sure you will appreciate that, FOR SECURITY REASONS, until I AM GIVEN THE INFORMATION I REQUIRE, NOTHING you say is of ANY interest to me.  Good bye." and hang up
****

They call, you recognize the #, this one is probably a "call from an attorney's office":
1-Name of Attorney's office
2-Address of Attorney office
3-Local phone number of Attorney office
4-Name of Lead Attorney on the case
5-Bar # and State the Attorney is licensed in.
*************

They call, apparently from a 1-000-000-0000 or PRIVATE number ? this one seems to be the ?Agent ---? to tell you there is a FEDERAL warrant for your arrest UNLESS you pay RIGHT NOW?if you do, then they can pull the warrant.  [Yeah, right.]
The information you REQUIRE:
1-Name, rank, BADGE number
2-Name of Law Enforcement entity they?re with
3-Unit/Department/Division of the Law Enforcement entity they?re with
4-Address and main switchboard number of that entity
5-Name of Head of the Unit/Department/Division they?re calling from
So you can call the person back AFTER verifying ALL the information given, and they can continue the conversation.  (roflol, as you can imagine, they?re not going to give ANY of that info out either ? probably ?for security reasons.?)
*****

***********Their history is to say, "We don't give that out for 'security reasons.'  "  [Now, mind you, WHO is 'in love' with the IRS?  But they give out their address!]
You:  [chuckle] "Well, then you will understand why I don't speak to anyone calling my number that won't FULLY AND PROFESSIONALLY identify themselves ... FOR SECURITY REASONS!  Good day!" and hang up!

If they call back, answer the phone with: "Are you ready to provide me with the INFORMATION I REQUIRE?"
If they start saying ANYTHING other than the information YOU REQUIRE, HANG UP.

This may be a situation of "shampoo, rinse, repeat" a few times, until they figure out YOU MEAN BUSINESS AND NO MEANS NO!

These people are so ignorant. You can not put someone in jail for not paying a debt. If you could half of America would be in jail. Unfortunate a lot of people don't know that. They called me and I stated to them this fact, and also told them that I was recording the call. The lady said that I could not legally do it, I said well you should know because you cant legally do what you are doing. She got upset and hanged up. Get this about 2 hours later another call, same outcome.

I received a call today at home which my mother answered, they didnt state a name just asked if she would be home between 3 and 5 to have papers served...she said who are you calling for and they asked her if she was framiliar with me. She just replied you have the wrong number and hung up. This company proceeded to call the second line in my home and my mother stated the same thing to them. Legit process servers dont call ahead of time, they would never get people to serve. They just arrive! I had a problem with a similiar ccompany a couple months ago, some payday loan that they said I took out. They said funds were depostied into my bank account and I never re-paid the loan. They are collecting on it now and I can either pay the 762.00 I owe now with a credit or debit card or they are prepared to have me arrested and take me to court. I told them I did not take out a loan and no money went into my account. I also stated that even thought that account is now closed I have all bank statements for it and can prove no money was ever deposited into that account. I will not give you one dime, take me to court as bank statements to do lie. They became very angry and told me to grab a toothbrush and a clean pair of underwear I would be arrested by 5 and it would be a long weekend for me. I said its Monday, a long weekend? I told them the call was being recorded and they said on our end too...I said awesome so we can both prove you just broke about 5 FCC regulations! And I can now sue you for threats and harrassment and I am sure my attorney can think up a few more charges. They hung up on me. Guess they have moved me to another company who will start the same thing with me. I really dont understand how they get away with this. What does out government do all day? What does the Attorney General do all day? I am certain we are not the only ones who receive calls like this on a regular basis and I am certain that they have been reported several times. When will something be done to shut these companies down? They are thieves and need to be dealt with by the law. If I get another call I am going to report them to several different agencies and not stop until I have some kind of legal action taken towards this company. I cant even imange making a living like this...must be big bucks in it for people to stoop this low.

LOL, I'm VERY familiar with these folks.  Here ya go:

There are complaints about them all over the internet for harassing people that do not owe the debt, threatening to arrest people for a debt, telling people the only way they'll stop calling is to pay "court costs" on an alleged suit they filed, etc.  According to some of the MANY complaint pages and numbers they've called using, it seems they call about debts that are 5-10 years old, don't care if they were paid or not because they want money.  There are people who have fallen for this, and stated that they paid, and are STILL waiting on getting the documentation of the debt from them.  Of course, their story is that they sent it out ... yeah, right.
What's laughable is one page on their website that says they follow the law during collection attempts.  OBVIOUSLY, NOT!  THEY have an F rating with the FL BBB (see below).

By the way, it would seem to me that, IF you had a bad debt, it would show on your credit report (if still eligible to be reported).  IF you do have a bad debt on your credit report, you might want to consult an attorney and/or the original creditor, rather than these folks who obviously could care less about the law.  [I am NOT an attorney, nor do I profess to be one.  I am NOT dispensing ?legal advice,? simply giving my opinion!]

IF they were calling about a legitimate debt, they would NOT be calling to see if you'll be home all day on certain day to "deliver legal documents" or "subpeona."  A legit collector CANNOT discuss your bill with anyone else OR threaten to arrest you and/or send you to debtor's prison, etc.

Make yourself aware of the rules in the FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT.--http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/fdcpact.shtm
Here is more info on it from the FTC Consumer information -- http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection
It's glaringly apparent that these folks enjoy breaking most of these rules.

Hope this helps someone!

[NOTE: As far as I?m personally concerned, the behavior of these companies IS a form of domestic terrorism, although the FBI may not.]

It also occurs to me that, particularly on the GreenDot/Prepaid card ?payments,? since they are apparently difficult to trace, I seriously doubt they are reporting these funds on their income taxes === tax evasion.  (That?s the way they finally got Al Capone!)  The IRS has forms for reporting suspected evasion, and even a reward form you can complete for if you help them catch the folks!
http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/How-Do-You-Rep ... aud-Activity%3F   (I?m 99% sure it?s the Form 3949-A that you?ll want to complete if you?ve been swindled by these folks.)    It looks like Form 211 is to claim a reward!

http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f211.pdf  -- Reward form

I personally don?t care WHICH branch of the government goes after these people, as long as THEY get REAL FEDERAL ARREST WARRANTS out on them!!  So, if you?ve been taken in by these folks, besides filing with the above, don?t forget the IRS!  (You KNOW they like going after money!!!)

It may not help, but it certainly wouldn?t hurt to fill the mailboxes at the White House with letters about these folks.  If the President wants to get involved with courts and everyday peoples? lives, then he needs to get involved in THIS!

SUGGESTIONS (again, I am NOT an attorney and am NOT attempting to dispense legal advice.  These are my PERSONAL suggestions)
1-IF you decide to answer one of their MANY calls from about 50 different telephone numbers (no, I?m not exaggerating), give them NO INFORMATION.  In fact, YOU MAKE THEM ANSWER QUESTIONS, and if they don?t, hang up on them!   I don?t know anything about spoofing/masking numbers, but there have been comments that they are VOIP?ing the majority of the numbers they?re calling from.  I do not doubt this, as a person said the number showing on her phone was that of the local police department.
2-Keep a running log of the date, time, telephone number, person calling and note of conversation to file with your complaints.  (Or, try to record the call, BUT they usually hang up when they?re told they?re being recorded.  ROFLOL, now how many LEGITIMATE collection agencies would do that?  NONE that I?ve ever heard!
3-Look up your state?s Statute of Limitations on debts that can be pursued in court (that you can still be sued for).  It seems to vary from 3-15years.
4-DO NOT allow them to intimidate or frighten you.  These idiots have even called the numbers attorneys, police officers, etc. with this scam.  Intelligent, they are NOT.

USUAL PLOYS:
1-call friends, neighbors, relatives, employers, and you trying to intimidate you into paying JUST to make the calls stop (but, from looking online, they don?t stop?they just demand more). ? Ask these folks to also keep a log of the calls, give them this internet page to check.  Ask them to do a search for ANY of these company names.  They?ll soon realize it that these people are nothing but SCAMMERS.
2-??have important legal documents (or summons) to deliver, will you be home ---(day) from 8:30 to 4:30 to accept it??
3-?There?s a warrant out for your arrest UNLESS you send us $xxx TODAY?  -- they seem to prefer asking for the ?Green Dot? prepaid card and want you to call back with the numbers on back ? harder to trace where to $ goes, apparently.

COMPANY NAMES:
Goodman and Stern LLC, aka GSA Recovery, aka GSA Management Orlando, FL  ? AND/OR ? EIESNBURG, WHITMAN & ASSOCIATES LLC, Rubin and Weizman, LLC.

TYPE OF CALL:
SCAM AND/OR EXTORTION BY A DISREPUTABLE LICENSED COLLECTION AGENCY

By the way, in case you haven?t seen it, complaining DOES help!
