Caller ID just showed California Call as if it was a wireless number.

Since you're not a rocket scientist, I'll share a little information with you.

These calls are done with the use of autodialers.  Because pretty much every phone number in the US is in use, they only have to set their machine to randomly dial numbers within each area code and they will be reaching a number that is in use.

If you answer, they know it's in use.  They can either screw with you, or sell your number to a scammer who will call you, know that it is a valid number.

The phone service providers currently do not have the techonlogy or bandwidth (that mens the ability and resources) required to stop these people from doing this. By the time they identify where they are actually calling from (because technology often allows them to place a false caller-ID on the display) they just move to another number after they get shut down.

This has nothing to do with NSA, or Obama, or Bush or the government.

Just got a mystery call from one Brian Katz --- 323-395-3534 as well. No message, didn't pick up anyway.

Guy with raspy voice who sounded like he was on drugs asked for me.  I told him I thought he had the wrong number and asked who was calling.  He started to talk and hung up in the middle of the first word. Caller ID said "wireless caller".

They called twice today, twice yesterday.  B****eads do not know when to quit, so had to make room on my Call Block list for them.  Bunch of bloody w**kers!

Caller I.D. said "Brian E. Katz" - didn't answer and no message left. After reading this site, blocked the number on my phone.

lots of background noise - male voice said "no problems Bill, that's the way I like it."

CALLED ONCE  THEN CALLED BACK AGAIN . THEY ARE AMERICAN FEDS WHO ONLY KNOW ENGLISH AND DO NOT UNDERSTAND MY ANSWERING MACHINE MESSAGE GIVEN IN RUSSIAN   OR SPANISH . " HE SAID YOU HAVE TO SPEAK ENGLISH TO ME. " I ONLY LISTENED TO ANSWERING MACHINE " AND DID NOT ANSWER STUPID AMERICAN  MAN !

Caller ID just said "wireless caller."  No message left.

These people keep calling and calling!!!!  They tell me I need to schedule an appointment to receive my "already paid for" medical alert device.  It is a recorded message, so I can't tell them to "shove it"!!!  I also am on the no-call list, and I'm tired of people not being fined or jailed for violating it!!!

There not going to stop those calls!!  I ate them and I don't answer them!

This no. keeps calling even tho I am on no call list...Needs to be stopped.

Got a call regarding selling a shower install.  Keep getting these calls every time it is a different phone number.  Am on the no call list but that doesn't seem to stop these calls.  Need to be reported to someone that can fine the people for doing these calls.

Dinner time.  The caller I.D. said "Brian E. Katz".  I usually don't answer calls from numbers I don't know, but I did answer this time.  Mistake!  It was a sweet sounding young lady from "Security Bath and Shower".  Before I hung up I could hear that she was calling from a boiler room.  Typical scam operation preying on the older folks in our society.  I blocked the number, reported the "Do not call violation" to both state and federal authorities and tomorrow I will call my Congressman's office once again to complain about the lack of enforceable laws to protect us from these crooks.

wow, what a kook.  Some guy (who sounds like he's on drugs) (lots of background noise as well) says

323-395-3534 is a bogus number.  They are trying to analyze your phone calls.  Probably NSA again.  Nothing to fear here.  After all, they're from the Government and are here to help you.
