I received an invoice in the mail for over $1200 for copier parts that I had not ordered. A total scam!

We received a bill from Ameristar for $1218.610 for 2 ? for a HP laserjet printer. The phone number on the invoice is 323.468.9258 and the fax number is 323.468.9159 with a Toronto address. I wrote them and told them this was fraud and that I was going to report them to the proper US authorities.

Received a bill today from Ameristar for $1218.60...must be the magic # huh. I sent a response to the fax # since no one wil pick up on the phone. Also filed a complaint with the US Postal Service in the fraud dept. Sent a second fax letting them know what I did and also told them "They were a piece of S*#T. Hope they like that!

Got an invoice from Ameristar - with the Canadian address.  The fax number listed matches what folks in here have stated.

We also received a phone call (same experience as you) & then few weeks later an invoice for $1218.60.  Same details you listed.  I'm tearing up their invoice & "Returning to Sender" - after I made a copy to await their follow-up call.  Sad....

They are now going by Ameristar.  I received a bill for printer cartridges we did not order, we don't even have the printer they are referencing.  When I called to dispute they gave me a credit code, but then called back and called me a liar.  Of course when they call back their phone number is blocked.  What a scam

The other day our office received a call from someone asking for "Accounts Payable." When I started asking them the particulars to leave a message they got belligerent and said I didn't understand because I was "obviously not in accounts payable."

Today I told one of our accounts payable people about it and we both figured it for a scam. We thought nothing of it until the mail came. She showed me an invoice and asked if this was the company that had called.

I called the number on the invoice, but it went straight to voice mail. The first message cut me off. The second try caught my full message.

Sadly, then I googled and found the ad for "get your virtual office" on the address listed and this nice board.

It is amazing how much information the scam artists can gather on a company unknowingly. It is also scary that some will pay this invoice.

As another responded mentioned we do not buy supplies from anyone other than two sites so this was a big flag. As was the fact that there was no sales tax listed.

I am posting this on our office refrigerator for all to see. Marked in HUGE red letters...SCAM!

We received a call from this company about a month ago, stating they were doing a follow-up on an issue we were having with our printer. This set off Alarm Bell-1, as I am the person who calls for issues with the copier.
Then when I told them that that particular machine was not having issues, they said it was for the Health & Safety Department. Alarm Bell-2, as that department is 1 person, and has no machine.
I basically let them play "tail-chase" through the office phones with people who would have no clue, and when the called back, I let it go to voicemail. They left none.

This was basically forgotten until I received an invoice from "AMERISTAR".

* This has no google-search results) for a nutty total (ironically while I was away on vacation, so it was a 50/50 chance that AP would have paid this while I was gone too. Scary thought)
*I didn't remember ordering supplies for that machine, and upon closer look, this company had no website listed on their "Invoice"... which is really strange for this age.
*In addition, there was no Sales Tax... and coming from "Ontario" .. that's pretty weird. Even to my province.
*The address is from a Virtual Office (the deuce?)
*The phone number and fax are not from the same local.
*Then I noted the "Attn: Health & Safety" line on the top.

*The cream of the whole mess was the statement that they "accept Paypal payments"
Ok unless you're on Etsy, or Amazon, or are a small, personal company.. no one takes Paypal for corporate purchases.

This is basically going into the file under "Misc" BS, and I am morbidly awaiting their follow-up phone call so I can mess with them. >:3

4501 printer but our supplies are provided by a local company. The next day I had a phone call looking for payment on this invoice. When I questioned the lady about the company she hung up on me. Looks like the same company as previously posted just with a different name.
THIS IS A SCAM.

We got email and phone call and fax from this company, they got our A/P information and send us opened invoice which we did not order at all( with unbelievable high price). Also promise to give the A/P 100 American Express Gift Card. Please watch this company, do not pay them a penny, they are cheater!

I work in the A/P dept for a large company.  We received an invoice from this IT Solutions company back in April.  I sent the invoice off for coding/approvals as I normally would and our team approved it for payment.  In order to pay a vendor here we have to have a W9.  I called It Solutions and left a message for them to send me a W9.  They sent it over and we ran it through the IRS website.  Everything seemed fine so we paid the first invoice.  This month we received another invoice (for double the amount of the first one) and I sent it off for coding/approvals again.  This time our team questioned the invoice and realized they didn't see the products they claimed they sent.  Also, we only order from OfficeMax.  I sent an email to "Tom Richards" and "Don Williams" at IT Solutions asking for proof of delivery and haven't heard anything back from them.  That's when I googled their address, phone, and fax # and I found my way to this page.  We definitely won't be paying this bogus company again.

Hold on to your hat folks....the Company name is again changing.   The new Company name is "Ameristar" with a bogus phone number at a virtual office address out of Toronto, Ontario Canada with a fax line it Central Los Angeles California.  They're calling to see if you got their invoice.  Funny thing....Last year at this same time the Company Name was "Advance Media" with the same Toronto Number and Los Angeles Fax

Yeah they call asking what kind of copiers you have and who they are speaking to.  IT Solutions is the worst.  We got an invoice with just a product number and Xerox supplies.  Said they shipped 2 of them.  We don't pay for our consumables so that's why I questioned it.  Haven't been able to get ahold of anyone and they called once wanting to know where payment was.  Not getting a dime from us.

I get phone calls, faxes and mail from IT Solutions.....just received a letter today from the Toronto address.  Coincidentally, my wife got a phone call from "Steve" today as well.  This time my wife called Steve a scammer, and he got all belligerent and told her to be quiet since he wasn't done talking, then she said "Later, scammer!" and hung up.

I think I'm gonna have some fun with these guys.....with fake credit card #s, monopoly money, additional postage that they will have to pay for when they receive it "payments" in the mail, and other time and money wasters.  There is a site called 419eater.com that I will go to so I can come up with other scambaiting ideas.

They are still at it. IT Solutions asked for accounts payable. Judy left me a message. No one answers when I call. Got suspicious (we're Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and we don't order supplies from California) and found this thread. Not getting my money, that's for sure.

Keep your eyes on the news channel. Everyone that has been scammed by these thiefs

About a year ago I got a call asking the model # of our copier, a few days later i received an invoice from Advanced Data, for $1218.60. We never paid this invoice. Today I got a call from Judy Ross, asking if I'd received the IT Solutions invoice. I didn't connect the 2 as our IT department has been ordering a lot of supplies lately. They asked my email address and I received an invoice, totalling $1218.60. Our Receptionist name was on the invoice as the person who had ordered, however we have a contract with our copier company so we don't order from anyone else. Later today an invoice arrived in the mail along with an offer of a $100 gift card upon receipt of payment. The owner of my company called, but got a voice message, so he left his name asking that they call him back..........I doubt they ever will call. Please be on the alert for any invoice related to toner, printer supplies, etc. and double check to make sure it's not this scam. It's been going on for over year now!!!! DON'T PAY THESE INVOICES

I received the exact same invoice. These pricks call all the time saying they are customer service and just want to check our serial number. As soon as you ask a question they hang up.

Just wanted to follow up with this thread.

Received a call from "Cindy" last week, decided to do a little digging and came across this site. Afterwards, I contacted the Canadian BBB, the Competition Bureau & the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (our office is in Toronto). I actually left a message for "Cindy" to let her know that I would be reporting her to these agencies and that if she had a problem, she could contact me at her convenience.

About 5 minutes later she calls back, asking me for the invoice number, blah blah blah - just like many of you, our company services have been contracted out to Ricoh, therefore we don't require an outside vendor for any of our supplies. I called her out, suggested she get ready for the backlash, expressed my distaste of her behaviour and suggested that with her skill set, she could get a genuine telemarketing job and make commission. She began lashing out and yelling, to which I told her to not call me at work and speak to me with that tone. She ended up hanging up the phone.

Yesterday, I received a response from 2 of the agencies, letting me know that they were looking into the matter. I know it's not much, but I'm hoping that they take this seriously, as there are disenfranchised people who may get suckered into this scam.

I'll keep you posted with the outcome.

We too have recieved an invoice (via email) and a call from "Cindy Adams" with IT Solutions asking about the payment status on a past due invoice, that we had never received.  After confirming that we never ordered the product... it 'smelled' a lot like a similar scam by Canada Servco.  I Googled the phone number and ended up here.  I did have 'Cindys' email address though and advised her we wouldn't be paying for this and to close our account as we'd never be ordering from them.

IT Solutions they called themselves, asking for the model # of your printer. They offer a $100 prepaid credit card and then mail you an invoice for large amounts of money. They do not send you any products or anything, just an invoice. The business is not BBB Accredited and when you call their number you do not get to talk to anyone or leave a message. They also give you a phony website to try. SCAM ALERT!!!!!

We also received and invoice and a  polite phone message  for 2 @$598 with the wonderful Amex offer.  I registered a mail fraud complaint thru the us postal service.  It's easy to do...just complete an online form.  They are committing a felony!

Cindy from IT Solutions has been calling me for months.  The best part is I haven't even received one invoice from this company.  But she calls with an invoice number.  I knew it was a scam from the beginning because of how ridiculous they are, plus I take my toner to get refilled or buy it at Costco.  

Today, 2/21/13 she called and I told her I spoke with her months ago and her company is a scam and we have never ordered toner from them.  I then hung up.  She called back.  I hung up.  She called back.  To humor her I gave her our fax number to refax the invoice which she hasn't done.  I have not once ever seen an invoice from this company, but they call ever couple months telling me I owe them money for invoice #3434.

I even let her "leave a message" for our Accounts Payable (my sister) and she just hangs up.  It actually makes me laugh how serious and angry she gets at me.  She knows I know she's a scam, you'd think she'd just give up.

We received the same thing. Got a call asking if we had received the invocie. I said no and they were to email me a copy. The very next day she called again and asked if we had the invoice. I told we had talked the day before and that she was supposed to email me a copy of the invoice. Still hadn't received it yet. Oh I didn't mark that down in my notes. Received the invoice in the mail today. Totally bogus. Never ordered this product that they don't even properly list what they sent. It just says xerox workcenter (our machine number) supplies @ 2 for 598.00 each. We have a contract with xerox, so we wouldn't order from someone else.
This is the second time they have tried this. Went through the person calling saying they are goint to take us to collections and so forth. It was a different name but same ploy.

Same as Anita though the amount is a little higher - $1,218.60.  Tried to call the number on the invoice and no one was available to take my call.  I checked the website and there's none.  TOTAL SCAM!!!  

I hope there's agency who will do something to stop this.

I received a call and then an invoice about mid january 2013.  I was extremely confused as we had just purchased a large printer and was still getting to know who I was dealing with at Canon.  
But now that I have had time to do some digging I see that I am not ever going to pay their horrendous bill for product I did not receive!!  Tried calling to no avail.  I too was charged $1035.81 for 2 toner cartridges.

Obviously if you are on this page, you know this is a fake invoice, with a fake company. However, what steps can we take to get this to stop? People have said that they have reported this to the BBB and the attorney general, but these posts, with these same names and phone numbers have been around for 5 years now. Is there really nothing that can be done?
