Guy with an accent called and said he was from Microsoft (which is interesting, considering I have a MacBook and none of MS Office Suite) . He told me that my computer was at risk and that it has been getting viruses that I'm unaware of. I told him that this wasn't possible due to the fact that my computer has not even been on, let alone connected to the internet, in over a month, which is true because I need to replace the battery. He told me to go to hell and hung up. Nice guy.

Got a call from this no saying he was from Microsoft & there was a bug on my computer that he needed to fix. He said there was someone hacking into my computer right then & he needed me to go to my screen to fix it - I knew he was lying when I told him that I was not home & the computer was not on & he said he would have to call me back when I could get to my computer. I told him he could call me at 7p & he said that they would be closed by then so he would call back tomorrow. It's a scam.

I have gotten two calls from "Mike" from "Microsoft" today. I can't understand most of what he says, but he said my computer had been sending out signals for two weeks that there is a problem. I told him it hadn't been on in a week. He told me to turn it on. I told him it was at home and I was at work. He wanted to know when I'd be home. I asked for a phone number to call him back. It took several times of asking but he finally gave me a number. It was bogus. He called me back while I was still at work and I couldn't understand him and hung up.

A man with a heavy Indian accent who said his name is Allan D'Souza claimed that he was calling from Microsoft Windows Technical Support. He said there was a virus that attacked my computer without my knowledge and that he would walk me through the steps to get rid of it. I hung up on him.

Cannot take it anymore. I am getting at least 5 calls a day from this number (323.489.7474)....... this is a home office phone that they are coming in to. Same story as above. Can't speak English. Say they are from Microsoft. I told them I never called Microsoft and we have Apple computers in this home. Also said I would take legal action if they keep calling.

So you could have given him someone's card # and it may have been used under another name. It happens all the time. You know those card offers that come in other people's names to your address. That is how it is done. Don't mess with them, do not engage with them in any conversation. I got a call from someone in Los Angeles 323 489 7474 (sounded filipino) saying from I Tech and she had something to tell me about my Windows computer. I said No three times and hung up. This was approx an hour after a local call came in for my husband from I Tech, saying he would remove me from their call list if he couldn't contact my husband during reg business hours. I told him impossible as hubby is Senior Systems Engineer with a large co in SF Bay Area (true). Called him and he called the LA #. Haven't heard back.

I immediately identified this as a scam call (been getting a lot of them lately). When I told the guy to put me on his do not call list, he called me a "mother f*cker" and then threatened that he would call "again and again" unless I pay him "$100". Unbelievable.

Told me with a very heavy accent that he was calling from Microsoft. I said no, you're not and I'm reporting you.

We get these calls in spells. None for a few months, and then 3 or 4 in a week. I think Microsoft should sue these idiots or get them deported. Always the same ..... your computer has a virus. What.... I can't understand you since your English sucks..... and the conversation continues in this circle until I hang up.
I've told them I only run Cpm on a Osborn 8088 with a 1200 baud modem and the guy still wants me to turn it on and blah, blah, ....blah.
I have said that I am doing everything they want me to do.... pushing imaginary buttons.... playing like I really am concerned.... then after ten minutes or so tell them I was just playing games with them..... then hang up.
Still get the calls..... nothing works.

Very aggressive calling & recalling from 323 489 7474 heavily accented person claiming to be from Microsoft claiming they had received a " message that my computer had downloaded dangerous files from the internet." Caller requested that I open Safari & type www.remote123.org, which of course I did not. When I hang up they call again, angrily asking why I hung up. Twice more they rang. I stated that they were now harassing me and that I would report them, whereupon they hung up.

Received a call today from 323-489-7474. The person said he was from Microsoft and that a satellite showed my windows operating system had a virus. He asked if I was in front of my computer so that he could help me with this. I told him I didn't think his call was legitimate and asked for his name and phone number so that I could call him back. He told me his name is John Thomas and I could call him back at 435-625-1649. I have a full service contract on my computer with includes scanning for any malfunctions/virus/malware etc. I contacted the provider which did a remote check of my system and found nothing wrong. BEWARE!! This is a scam!!

I'm getting all the same story as the other users. Do not give these people any information. Block the call if you can. Don't see why Microsoft can't do something about the calls.

Well I got a call from this d****ead yesterday saying " I'm going to kidnap and kill your father if you don't give me $10,000". First started out with the dumbass saying he or she or whatever it is worked for Microsoft like a lot of you are having problems with well now it's elevated to this. Don't let this punk a** scammer scare you if they say this. I've reported this dick to the police after that little incident, so hopefully they find him and throw him and his phone off a bridge. End of rant, oh and my dads fine if you were wandering.

This guy called about a month ago with an unavailable number. He told my husband he needed to look at his computer. He said the computer had a virus in it. He asked for personal information, my husband hung up on him.
(Also has some foreign accent.)
He called again, but this number wasn't even possible it was like 16 numbers long. I'm assuming he called from a computer. He asked for my husband and told him about the Microsoft Virus.
Finally today, he called asked my husband by name. I told him he wasn't here right now. He kept talking over me. I was like uh huh, OK, I'll have him call you back. When my Husband first told me about the number, I told him that was a scam without a doubt. Now that he called my phone and I was able to type it in Google. I'm glad I found this page.

I received 12 calls on 4/10/2014 from this number (323) 489-7474 and i never answered and was worried of where this number was from? But, I Never answered the calls because i didn't recongnize the number? Therefore, it wasn't necessary to answer the calls and to have 12 calls in one day?? That i really questioned?

Ok to let everyone know some Indian dude is calling people saying he is from Microsoft support and saying that you're computer is sending serious error messages and did you know about it... Here's a good way to mess with him if he calls.. If he says he is from Microsoft tell him you use linux or that you use Apple products, He will backtrack and say "oh yes that's right we do that too".. Go ahead and tell him you use a TV with rabbit ears with a homemade keyboard you brought from Radio Shack... If he doesn't hang up then proceed to tell him about the alien you caught in your garden and what kind of weird sex acts you have planned for this alien once Bigfoot arrives. About this time he will be thoroughly confused, more than likely he will hang up. He's using some 323 area code(probably spoofed). By the slightest chance he is still on your phone tell him about the first time you had a stomach virus and how you couldn't get off the toilet but most importantly let him tell you his whole shcpeel and seem interested before you run this scenario. The guy who called me did try and call back later(he probably wanted the new guy in the scam to hear the funny s*** that just came out of my mouth)

I received this call today, around 4:30 in the afternoon. After the initial introduction, saying he was calling from Microsoft and that there was a problem with my computer, I told him I had been hearing about these calls, and I was excited to get one! He said, "You are excited to get a call telling you that there's a problem with your computer?" I replied, "Yes! I'm excited because now maybe we will be able to trace where these scammers are located!" He then replied, "You will never be able to trace us!" I asked, "We can't trace you?" His final reply, was, "No, you and your wife will never be able to trace us," and then he ended the call. Should I take that as a threat of some kind? :)

Guy claimed I had a problem with my computer and told me to log into Microsoft Windows. I have not had a computer with Windows since Vista was released. I tried to keep him on as long as possible. When he realized I was scamming him, he asked if I was fooling with him. Blocked the number after he hung up.

I've been receiving calls daily from this number. Several times it had an automated message about a free wal-mart or target gift card. Today I answered and an Indian sounding person said, "Hello *******" (my name), I cut him off and said "I know this is a fake company and a scam; please stop calling this number." He actually said, "Sorry", then hung up.
LOL
