got a call, again, from this number. decided to answer this time. said they he was from windows and was calling about my windows computer. told him with a just as heavy accent that i do not have a windows computer. then the phone was silent. where did my new friend go?

Been gettng calls from this number for long time, do not know how to stop these scammers,they are not very nice.  Some one had listed the number 213-457-3846 as being one of these low lifes.  Maybe everyone that keeps getting calls from these low lifes should start calling them and see if they are interested in buying the  "Brooklyn Bridge"

They are scammer/extortionists located in India.  Nobody to complain to.   There's no way to stop these calls from being initiated, but you can protect yourself.  

(1) Get a call blocker.
(2) Do not answer call numbers you don't recognize.

They follow a set script trying to get into your computer and scam you out of money.   No Arabs involved.  Just scamming Indians.    Male callers will sometimes resort to sexually aggressive language when they are dealing with women.    It's part of Indian rape culture.  If you talk to them, that's what you can expect.  

Don't waste your time trying to call them back.   Half the time the numbers are blocked and most of the time they won't answer in any case.

A guy called me with thick, Arab accent.  He did not identify himself or his company from phone #323-489-7476.  He said he loved me and things that I cannot repeat. He would not let me talk to his manager.  I told him to take out number off of his list and not to call back.  He has proceeded to call me for 4 days in a row now.  When I call to complain, they say there is nobody there that would do such a thing.  The tell me they will pull the recordings and call me back after reviewing them.  No one calls back.  The next time I called they also said they would review the calls.  I asked them for their phone number to call them back for an update and they gave me a non working phone number.  How does this happen?  I am appaled that there is no one that will address this harrasment!  

If he had a thick  "Arab" accent then OBVIOUSLY he wasn't from Egypt dummy! SCREEN your calls from now on, if you don't recognize the number DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE! DUH!

I'm in the habit of not answering a call when the number isn't a friend or family or a known acquaintance, and I use the blocking feature on my mobile to block it before they call again. What is sad is there are people out their that fall victim to these scams and they are taken for a ride of their lives. Be smart and don't answer every call you get, and screen and let it go to VM, but most scammer don't leave a message, so block or just don't answer is the best advise I could give anyone.  

Called claiming virus in computer and they could fix it..... called 5 times in a row after I kept hanging up on them.

Got a call from 323 489 7476, was telling me that he is getting all the error ports reported at Microsoft and he is from Microsoft to help me. Was telling me that my computers are showing the error ports. When asked about my computer name, he fumbled and said that he cannot tell me that but someone from Microsoft other team will. Then was telling me that dont worry, I'm here to help you. Please follow my instructions.
I dropped the call  and he called back, I didn't picked it.

He was sounding like, someone from Middle East.

I don't know how they got my cell # - I'm on the DO NOT CALL list.  But yes, hard a very strong accent and claimed he was from Microsoft.  I told him to remove my number and that I knew they were a scam.  Then I hung up and blocked the number on my cell.

Just got a call from 1 323 489 7476, definitely a scam of some kind tried to get personal info claiming my computer has been hacked. Also he had a thick Arab accent, probably from Egypt judging the way he shifted his vowels when attempting to speak English.

Got a call from this number and the guy told me my computer was being hacked.  When I said no thank you he told me he hopes my computer crashes.  When I called the number back it was a scam to get a $100 WalMart gift card.

THIS PERSON CONTACTED ME VIA MY CELL PHONE. CLAIMED TO BE FROM MICROSOFT AND REQUESTED I GO AND TURN ON MY COMPUTER. I WAS SITTING AT MY COMPUTER AT THE TIME OF THE CALL . I TOLD HIM I DID NOT OWN A COMPUTER OR LAPTOP THE CLOSEST THING TO A COMPUTER I HAD WAS THIS CELL PHONE !! HE HUNG UP. THIS IS A SCAM TO GET INTO YOUR COMPUTER AND STEAL YOUR IDENTITY DON'T DO IT

Just received a call from this number at 11:20am on May 2, 2014. Sounded like he was outside because of the wind noise. In a thick accent, he claimed he was calling from Microsoft Technical Support. I have gotten similar calls, but this was the first time a valid number appeared in the caller id. Displayed as coming from California. I asked him if he was really going to try this scam, and he immediately hung up.

Received a call from this number saying they were from "MIcrosoft Technical Department" at 6:11pm on April 30th, 2014.

Funniest scan call EVER. When I asked him why his number wasn't an 1-800 number, he said he couldn't hear me and asked me to speak louder. Obviously a ploy to ignore my question. After that, he asked me to add him on facebook! Reason? My voice was as sweet as sugar. And then he proceeded to beg me to add him. I hung up on him not too long after and added the number to my Reject list.

I got a call from this number (323-489-7476). I could barely understand what the man was saying. There was a lot of back ground noise and he had a thick indian accent. He said that there were agents on the other line waiting to talk to me about my car insurance. I asked his name and what company he was from and his reason for calling but I could not understand anything he was saying. All I could make out was that it was something for car insurance and he said at one point that it was "from the USA, your country". I told him that I wanted to let him know that I was recording the call for legal purposes and he just said okay and kept talking so I hung up.

This number continues to call my phone.  I don't normally answer. But today I did. I was told the same as everyone else. That something was wrong with my Microsoft and blah blah blah...
I let the harsh Indian accented woman talk. Then I responded with "I don't even own a computer, or a laptop." She was a loss for words.  Then hung up on me. Hahahah!! Scam, scam SCAM!!!!!

Received this call thick Indian accent said he was my boyfriend. Told him I'm married to atop calling and hung up. Huge scam

Received call from this number - thick accent - insisting he was from Microsoft and needed to help me because they had gotten a report my computer had been hacked.  Got agitated when I asked questions or doubted him.  I hung up on him.  He called back and said I needed to turn on my computer so he could help "do his job".  He also indicated he was galled from the US government - when I mentioned that I thought he said Microsoft he stammered and I hung up.  He called back again, actually almost threatening (i.e. I would lose everything on my computer) if I didn't turn it on and let him fix it.  I said absolutely not and he nastily wished me luck and hung up.

IT IS A SCAM!!!!

This person called saying they were from Microsoft and that my computer has been hacked and now its "totally messed up." They said they got my number from when I registered on my Windows software. I couldn't get out of them what it was they actually wanted me to do, every time I asked he became really irate and trying to scare me. He said "the hackers have blocked your firewall", "your computer is totally messed up," etc. I also asked him what IP address my machine was on and he gave me a wrong IP.  I told him I won't do anything over the phone and I want a number to call back. He gave me 213-457-3846 ex 123.

I have been receiving calls from this number for the past few weeks now. This was the first time I actually spoke with someone, usually they just hang up. I have tried calling the number back, but it goes to a recording for a free Wal-Mart gift card offer.

Just received a call from 323-489-7476.  The recording was about a $100 Walmart  Gift Voucher Hotline.  I called back but only got the same recorded message.  I received a similar call from a New Jersey number on 4/18.  I called a real Walmart and was advised that they were not running this type of message or survey.  I also gave them the number 215-351-7745 that I received.

Don't fall for that scam. If you have some free time, waste theirs. That's all these people do is scam people, so if you take up their time, they get to scam less people. Put them on hold, they WILL wait if they think you're falling for it. Tell them you unplugged your router, that you need to reboot your computer, you have no IDEA what key they're talking about. They're trying to get you to agree to connect your computer to theirs so they can get your data.
