Same call on 9/25/13. Scared me to death. Missed 2 hours of work. When Western Union was brought up, I drove to nearest police station. Had an officer attempt to talk to the lady and she hung up immediately. I was shaking I was so terrified. What an awful person!

>"I proceeded to tell her that it was actually not for me, but that I run an organization called "Hard On's for the Homeless"
That, my friend, is priceless. Good work.

I called her back and told her that I purchased a bulk package of Cialis. She told me that I violated federal law, then I proceeded to tell her that it was actually not for me, but that I run an organization called "Hard on's for the Homeless". More back and forth about title such and such section here and there - I kept it up for as long as I could before she caught on and hung up on me - but not before telling me that authorities were on their way.

I also received a call just like the ones above but I also called the local DEA and DHEC and the law. I gave them all the information I have found out about this caller

I too received a phone call from this lady on 9/23/13. She gave me the same story about being from the DEA and that the agents were standing by with a warrant for my arrest. She became rude and angry when I told her to send the agents to search my home and arrest me. She became really upset when I asked her if this was a joke and demanded that I let her explain that I am looking at 5-7 years in prison. When I laughed and told her she was crazy, she responded by telling me that the agents would be at my house within minutes to execute the search warrant and take me into custody then hung up. It's Wednesday and I'm still waiting. Don't let these people intimidate you. These criminals are looking to make a living from good, hard working people. Don't be a victim! :)

My co-worker got a voicemail last week from Lynn Taylor, ext. 1824 @ this #, claiming to be with the DEA. Same story as above: Demanding she call due to a drug package she ordered. Said they had a search warrant for her home, warrant for her arrest and agents were on their way. When my friend called to suggest they had the wrong #, Ms. Taylor referred to an old address where my friend lived some 8 years ago. Ms. Taylor was very rude and kept insisting the agents' were on their way.
My co-worker was so upset she missed a day of work, called the sheriff to question this call and was consulting a lawyer's office. Her sister left a message requesting a badge # and subsequently was hung up on several times when she tried to call back.

ALERT - EXTORTION SCAM - ALERT
DEA Warns Public of Extortion Scam by
DEA Special Agent Impersonators
The Drug Enforcement Administration is warning the public about criminals posing as DEA special agents or other law enforcement personnel as part of an international extortion scheme.
The criminals call the victims (who in most cases previously purchased drugs over the lnternet or by telephone) and identify themselves as DEA agents or law enforcement officials from other agencies. The impersonators inform their victims that purchasing drugs over the lnternet or by telephone is illegal, and that enforcement action will be taken against them unless they pay a fine. In most cases, the impersonators instruct their victims to pay the "fine" via wire transfer to a designated location, usually overseas. If victims refuse to send money, the impersonators often threaten to arrest them or search their property. Some victims who purchased their drugs using a credit card also reported fraudulent use of their credit cards.
Impersonating a federal agent is a violation of federal law. The public should be aware that no DEA agent will ever contact members of the public by telephone to demand money or any other form of payment.
The DEA reminds the public to use caution when purchasing controlled substance pharmaceuticals by telephone or through the Internet. It is illegal to purchase controlled substance pharmaceuticals online or by telephone unless very stringent requirements are met. And, all pharmacies that dispense controlled substance pharmaceuticals by means of the lnternet must be registered with DEA. By ordering any pharmaceutical medications online or by telephone from unknown entities, members of the public risk receiving unsafe, counterfeit, and/or ineffective drugs from criminals who operate outside the law. In addition, personal and financial information could be compromised.
Anyone receiving a telephone call from a person purporting to be a DEA special agent or other law enforcement official seeking money should refuse the demand and report the threat.

Just got same message on my voicemail. Demanded I call due to a drug package I ordered. Said they had a search warrant for my home and warrant for my arrest. Probably did not realize I am a lawyer who knows that DEA would never leave that kind of message - not to mention fact I never ordered a drug package. I am going to call her now to play with her a bit and then let her know am turning her in! Someone pays that phone bill and impersonating law enforcement alone is a crime. Will post result of call. :)

| Deeta 2013-09-09 19:56:39 Unknown |
This person (a woman) claimed to be a DEA agent and claimed my case was being investigated for illegal internet pharmaceutical sales from a few years ago. Told me agents were standing on ready to come to my business with a search warrant and arrest me if I didn't pay 7500.00 in fines!! Wouldn't let me get off phone to contact husband as this would implicate him as well. Wanted me to go to Western Union and wire money to offshore account. Thank god I googled DEA scams before I sent money off. She was very convincing and had me in tears. People should be arrested for scaring people like that! My mother would have fell for that one!
