I am also receiving the same offers against a laptop posted on Kijiji.ca. He is just trying to get my personal information whether the bank account or PayPal. I think wanna make some thing fraudulent.

I have an ad on Kijiji in Northern Canada. With 100 million iPhones for sale, I'm sure a buyer in LA could find one local. As Kijiji states, conduct face to face transaction only people!  And, consider where they are texting from....if they should be able to find it locally, they can. I wish people would stop getting scammed by these losers so they'd leave sellers alone!!

Sent me a text at 2am saying the exact same response for my gold rings. Not even gonna bother replying back. Seems like a fraud!

I was dealing with this last night when I posted an ad on Kijiji. It was an almost instant response from this number and said that exact same thing. I stopped responding and they texted me this morning with "Hey friend".

Someone should probably do something if possible so someone doesn't fall for this.

Yeah this is definitely a Fraud..Tried contacting me 5 minutes ago with the exact scripting above.

He kept referring me to as: "My Friend".

Please check my log. I got the same situation and don't think its worth the time and trouble.....

I got a reply from kijiji ad asking to pay with paypal and have it shipped for a friend, here is the conversation:

Buyer: Hello friend i saw your (name of product)  on kijiji, what is your best offer?

Me:You may give me a counter offer, if you find cheaper elsewhere, i may match it for you. Let me know.

Buyer: Okay I have no problem with the price and i will like to knowthe present condition of the tiem because am getting it for my friend, but am on a business trip right now and i will be happy if you can help me ship it to my friend i will pay you extra $120 for the shipping cost to my friend. THANKS

Me: No problem pass by my house and we shall discuss it. My (product name) is in very good condition.
Cash only please.

Buyer: I understand how you feel i promise if you can help me i will pay for the shipping including the item fees and any order charges and that is why i said we should use paypal for the payment cos paypalis save and secure for both sllers and buyers online fastest way to pay and 100%fraud free for more info log on to www.paypal.com please i'm really interested in this item i will not.

Me: I strongly recommended meeting in person, since it will be secure for both of us. But if you insist, please send a full payment with the 120$ to (Paypal account) and i shall ship it to you once the full payment as passed.

Most likely fraud, but I rather meet the person FACE TO FACE on kijiji.... THATS THE WAY IT SHOULD
BE!
If you want to use paypal, use EBAY, they protect you on both ends... Cheers!

This person replied to a kijiji ad I posted, offering to pay 120 for shipping.... Started off with wanting PayPal, agreed to do a bank transfer in the end. Waiting for a few more details before finishing the deal
