I got the same call as pier off is did, almost the exact same one.  What u need to do is contact the attorney general office for your state & report them.  It may take a while but trust me, getting the law involved in it is worth it.

I need help. I paid off an old payday Loan back in 2010 thru another collection agency. I received a call 323-799-9773 which is Smith and Rosenberg Law Firm they were telling me I still owe the money and I sent the paid in full letter from the other company and they said it was not an legitimate letter and wants me to pay it again or they will take me to court. How do I know that the current compant is not a fraud. Should I just let them take me to court and bring the letter and take my chances because they say that I will have to pay more in court and it will be do right then and there.

this number called me stated a collection for bad check over 2000.00 dollars and the wanted me to pay with a walmart prepaid card. This sounds like a scam.
