carpet cleaning scammers / telemarketing spammers.  number doesn't accept incoming calls. is anyone enforcing the law on dnc violators?

This number appeared on my called ID. They didn't leave a message.

I just got a phone call from this person... was this a casting Director?

Got several calls from this number - some of them were the automated message trying to sell carpet cleaning, the others were just silence.

Received call on cell around 2pm, no message.  Upon dialling number, got same message as others:  "number not in use".

Received a call on my DNC mobile phone from 323-967-5462 (spoofed number).

Pressed '1' to speak to somebody. Asked for name and number of company and rep said they had no idea as they were an outbound call center.

I advised that what they were doing was illegal and I needed to speak to a supervisor to find out who contracted them.
After 5 minutes some lazy-voiced guy kept challenging me saying they have no idea who they're working for.

This has got to stop.

I'd like to schedule a carpet cleaning appt. only to punch the person right in the grill when they show up!

I got a recorded message call from this number regarding a cleaning service, very annoying. This caller need to be stopped and reported with action taken.

Got a call from this number at 11:08am.  Missed the call, no VM, and I don't call back numbers I don't know.  I am also on the DNC list.

Unrecognized call to my cell.  Did not leave message.

I am not on the "do not call list" as those lists are sold to business' and many of them (I suspect) may use them to find your number. I've given my cell number only to friends and family and my work. I've had this particular number for 5 years with only 4 telemarketers calling me. Much better when I had my other number that I registered with Do not Call Registry and received tons of telemarketers. Since that time, I've created a contact named "blocked" and the telemarketers number added to it and a silent sound attached to the ringer for that number. Works out pretty good.

I don't believe any phone company would provide a block service for your cell, it's goes against their $$$interest to burn your minutes.

Receieved a call this morning but I wasnt home, they left no message but the caller ID read J2 Global Commun. I called it back and the message said not in use. I did a reverse lookup and its a unavailable landline number. I am also on the DNC (do not call) marketing list. Thanks to the yellowpages pulling up this website, now I know who to avoid or fuss at if they keep harrassing my phone.

I have also filed a complaint with DoNotCall.gov.  I would encourage all of you to go to the website and file complaints of your own.

I just got a call too. No VM. But what is this in the previous comment about collection agencies trying to verify where you live?
I have no reason to have a collection agency after me so now I am concerned.

2:34pm received call from this number to my cellphone. I am also on the "Do Not Call" list. I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number. I just typed in the number into Google, and it brought up this site. If they call again, I am proposing to answer so I can get the name of the carpet company (as mentioned on this site) and then call them and give them a piece of my mind!

Just got a call from this number on my cell phone which is on the DNC list.  when I tried to call it back on my landline it said "this number is not in use".  Weird!

Same story here... Recording from Dan, The Carpet Man, or something like that.  Called back... non-working number (I didn't want to "press 1" as the recording suggested, to speak to anyone in case it was an auto-dialer that might not call my number back, unless I press 1 and actually send it to them.) I'm on all the DNC lists, but worse, I have to pay for the call coming into my cell phone!

I received two calls from these jerks at around 1:20 pm EST today 7/8/09.

I didn't answer so they went to voicemail. The caller didn't leave a VM but also didn't hang up before it started.

They just left two SILENT/NO TALKING messages & then hung up, filling up my VM box.

I also just received this call about the Carpet Cleaning. Out of curiosity, was anyone that received this call in or around Huntington Beach, CA this weekend?

these scumbags are a carpet cleaning service. the do not call list is a joke, it never works. i've had all my phone numbers on it since it first launched and i regularly update it to make sure they are still on there. companies still sell their lists of numbers to telemarketers and no one pays any attention to do not call. it's just as bad as it ever was. the tragedy here is that cell phone providers don't allow you to block people from calling your phone. i've taken to not answering unless the person calling is in my address book. f-ck the scumbags.
