Had a Greg Martinez call me today stating just about what the rest of the posts have said...As Petula said..Thank God for Google.  Typed in "DEA calling me" and the DEA page link was there explaining this scam.  Scared the heck out of me at first then told the shmuck "Nice Scam!" and hung up.  They/He called back 3 times before giving up since I didn't answer and then tried calling on another number.

I also just received this same call. When I called back to follow up, they said there is a warrant for my arrest. They told me if I didn't want to be arrested they could find out if I could be given a fine instead. They came back on the line and said I could pay $7500 in payments or $4500 up front. I asked her the name of her agency and she responded...DEA,  DRUG ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. I asked for her name and she hung up on me. I went to my local police station where they verified I have no warrant for arrest and this is a scam.

I knew something was fishy the minute "Officer Lynn Taylor" started telling me I could not talk to anyone else about this, or they would face jail time too. She had me going up until that point though, I was terrified, she had my name and address and said there was an agent in the vicinity waiting for her call to proceed with my arrest.
She told me to be ready with a paper and pen while she got the Dominican Republic DEA on the other line to find out how much my "fine" would be.  I took that opportunity to tell her to hang on a minute while I went to find paper. Thank God for Google, is all I can say. Typed in DEA Dominican Republic and hit the scam jackpot.
I came back to the phone and she said it would cost me $7900 to avoid arrest and jail time and clear my record of the felony. I told her I had a friend in the government and I wanted to talk to her about all this before I did anything. She said she would give the word to have me arrested immediately and hung up!!!
I called the number back and only got a totally bogus sounding recording, still claiming to be the DEA. I can't believe people can get away with this.

Ditto on all the messages above.  Now there is a Javier Martinez, Jose Perez and Lynn Taylor.  Lynn must have passed the clown class 100% and is now the coach.  I called back and left the message that they had been reported to the local police departments, newspapers, radio stations and local news media.

Could you include in your "Call Type" list - DUMB A**?

Received a call from this number stating he was Gregory Martinez with the DEA and I had to call him back immediately.  No mention of being an agent so no "impersonation" (must have gotten an understanding of how bad impersonating an officer is).  No search threat and no package waiting for me (wow... I guess I did not get any gifts!) just an guy calling from the DEA with an urgent call to return the call immediately.

Impersonating a Federal Agent/Agency is a Federal Crime.

Report this number to the FBI.

Prank Call
I received a call on my answer phone from Gregory Martinez DEA Agent.  I needed to call him back immediately.  When I called, I received a recorded message stating that they were out of the office. Please leave a message with the agent that had called me and he would return my call.  Something needs to be done to stop these people.

This was on our answering machine. Transcript: "Hello Samm, this is Lt. Lynn Taylor, how are you? ...have a package confiscated with your name on it. We have a search warrant for your premises and an arrest warrant for yourself". The alleged Lt. asked that I call her back at the calling number, but with the extension 1824. Hmmm... I have no incoming packaged mail from anyone that I know of (unless it's yet another calculator from a charity), nor have I ever heard of any officer asking "how are you?", then being so stupid as to advertise future action. If I was a person of interest, wouldn't I hide the goods and skip town? It's either the stupidest DEA officer ever or a scam. I'm almost tempted to call her back and connect her with my cousin, who actually IS in the DEA.
