Scumbag scamers calling from multiple numbers - each the same gimmick. All of which if you try to return the call you get a disconnected message.
"You have been chosen to receive better interest rates on your credit card - this is a limited time offer, press one to speak with a customer service representative."
Afterwards it rings through and they either immediately hang up or someone answers.
The information I have been able to get from them:
As to the specific banks they are working with "Oh we work with numerous to get you the best rates."
As to which credit card company they are representing "We represent all major credit card companies."
After being informed that I was on the do-not call list, that soliciting a cellphone is against the law, to take me off their list, they have either hung up immediately or as the gentleman on the other side of the line I was apparently a 'f**got' for labeling them scamers.
Associated phone numbers:

I got a call from (330) 876-7410 about lowering my credit card interest rate. Same line to "stuff" everyone else has reported on. Only problem with the call I received was that I was in Germany on business. The call came in at 12:30 in the morning, and it cost me $1.29 per minute to answer the call.

I have rec'd a call from this system a number of times. The first time I just hung up. The second time I used option #3 to be removed from the calling list. The 3rd time I used option #1 and asked them directly to be removed from their calling list. Now today I rec'd another call, this time option #1 and spoke with a Jason. I asked who they represent, he asked why and I told him so I can report them to the Better Business Bureau.
Jason responded with the use of the N-Word multiple times, I was appalled. This practice is a full scam and would not answer their calls.

If we really want these calls to stop, the answer is really simple. Contact your congressmen about changing the law. Currently the FCC and FTC can fine these companies but the problem is, the owners and operators are protected as the company is an LLC. So the company gets the fines and the fact is, when they get caught, they will just shut the company down and thus the FCC and FTC don?t see a dime and even if they do, it won?t be much anyway. The owners and operators have already made their money and will just start a new company tomorrow and continue to make money. Until the law is changed, this cycle will just repeat itself. What needs to be done is that the law needs to be changed to make what they do from a civil infraction to a criminal. This way the owners and operators of these companies cannot just close the doors and walk away, they will be on the hook for the fines and they will also serve time in jail. This would be the biggest threat to them; their financials and their liberty is at risk for running a telemarketing company like they do. The issue still comes to finding them, but when they are caught, it is not just a slap on the wrist. The owners, operators and employees all need to be brought to justice for their crimes. So ask your representatives to change the law and make illegal telemarketing truly illegal and punishable by fines and prison time. You should also contact people on the telecommunication committee that can actually write the law for it to be voted on. When they get sick of hearing the complaints, maybe something will be done about it.

Credit Card Services to lower interest rate if owing over $2000. Hung up immediately after I said "remove me from your calling list". Called back to receive a "this number no longer in service" message. I'm also on a "do not call" list.

Report them to the FCC each time they call.

Maybe eventually the DOJ will catch up with them

They are not exempt! The DNC can not protect you from the illegal calls from telemarketers, nor the scammers, frauds and extortionist scammers out there. What you can do is turn them in. Eventually these guy's get caught! Most likely that was a spoofed number also. They often use numbers no longer in service or not in use though the scammers have been known to use legitimate names & numbers.

I never take the calls but thought I'd look the number up. Then, I tried calling it back from my landline where I can (*67) block my number (as to not get calls on that line, too). I find it interesting that the number they just called me from (listed above) is "no longer in service". That's quick. If only I could get my phone shut off that fast. It's a "bot" dialing random numbers. Why are they exempt from the Do Not Call List? Can anyone answer that question?

I go overseas for work frequently and gets these calls in the middle of the night which really makes me angry. Usually, I am either sound asleep or out for the night at a bar/resturant/ on my way back from the afore mentioned places. I usually play along with the game telling them I have debt between 1 and 3 million bucks or that I need to get my cc debt down so I can order more porn. Also, when asked for an address, I usually go with Cell block C, level 4, Huntsville, Texas State Penatentary. Just last night, I got a lady on the line, who said, "oh, s*&t, it is you again." I got a little bit of satisfaction out of it and went back to sleep. Another good line to use is to say you are a teenager who needs a CC to buy (pick your vice). They will then ask you how old you are and if a parent will approve. This can lead in many directions......

If you answer the call don't say a word. Total silence. After about 10 seconds the call will just disconnect. I think when you say hello that activates it. Otherwise do this. Just scream "OK IT'S DONE BUT THERE'S BLOOD EVERYWHERE!" and then hang up. It's really fun.

F****ng scammers calling from 'card holder services'.
When asked who they represent as far as what credit card company the guy on the phone said that they represent over 500 banks and after a few calls he can transfer me to someone to see if I am eligible for new credit cards.
Scum of the earth.
tomcat 2013-10-23 16:17:07 Unknown
Receive these 2-3 times weekly - no one speaks, i just hit the answer button and don't say anything, then it disconnects. Even if I do say hello, it disconnects. scam - no make that scum
K-Man 2013-10-23 15:08:07 Unknown
There is a solution, well at least something that gives some short term satisfaction......tell them you don't want to be called again (which will happen) and blow a whistle into the phone.......

I won't deal with anyone who won't leave a message and provide me with a number for me to call them back. Just another big con game, the gov't should lock these guys up for violating the do not call list. If I get their call I will have some choice words for them
me 2013-10-22 18:52:49 Telemarketer
I get these calls all the time. It is a scam, I tell them to hold on I will go get the cards then sit the phone down and listen to them say...hello?..are you there?...or I blow a whistle in the phone. Sometimes I just ask them to repeat what they said I tell them I am hard of hearing and old. They will repeat themselves 2 or more times, then when I start laughing they hang up.
