This guy keeps calling saying he is collecting for troopers. They should be helping the poor not the other way around. He has called every day.

Phone number keeps calling my home.  I do not answer

Got call today - Warren, Ohio.  I just called back and got a recording with their hours, and they are either helping other patrons, etc.... or closed.  They are open till 9:00 pm Eastern time, and some times of the year till 11:00pm.  It is 7:50 pm, so someone should have answered.  They asked for me to "call back during these times".  IT IS DURING THESE TIMES!!!  If they happen to call again when I am home, I will answer and see what happens.  Till then, they are flipping idiots, and scammers.

This is why I love this website so much!  I did not answer the call from this number last evening because I was busy at the time.  Now, if they call back, I'll be prepared.  Thanks to all you posters for alerting us to what this is about and especially thanks to the poster who included the link to the article in the Columbus Dispatch.  Valuable information!

I live in OH and just got just got a call from this number on 1/14/14 at 3 PM. It said Warren, OH on the caller ID. I didn't answer because I don't know anyone in that area. I checked here to see what was up and read all your comments. Some time back, maybe 6 months to a year ago, I got a call exactly as described here. It was a very aggressive male calling for donations for either the State Troopers or Vets, I don't remember which. He wouldn't take no for an answer. He talked over me and was very forceful. I finally hung up on him. Sounds like this could be the same caller/situation.

That's a 6 year old reference to CDG LLC, that does not mean that they are not now working under the same disguise as a charity same, similiar name. Yes, how generous of them to give 6% to the charity. Lesson learned, never, ever, give money, to a telemarketer. If he's calling he's lying!

Called me at around 3pm, left no message...

This number just called me back! They will not stop. They call back every single day! I have answered and no one says a word.  

They called without my permission and appear to be giving a spiel to try and coax some money out of you by trying to convince you that any funds raised will go to support your local Ohio State Troopers.

This telemarketer needs to stop call how do I get that done?

The name of the company at the root of this is, " Civic Development Group, LLC ".  They are based in New Jersey and are a professional fundraising company.  THE PROBLEM IS that they KEEP 94% OF ALL MONEY RAISED.  So, if you give them a dollar, for the Ohio Troopers Coalition or for disabled veterans(their OTHER cause), then ONLY 6 pennies will go to the troopers or the vets, and 94 pennies goes DIRECTLY INTO THIER POCKETS.

This person has called me as well.  He is aggressive.  If you find more information, please post what you know.

It is a phony "state troopers charity" scam.  This man has called several times.. All that I have found out, is the location is warren, ohio.  He has an authoritative tone, and is aggressive.  If someone can find more information, pleas post it.

It another number for the phony State Troopers charity scam. Big, long speech that tries to sound like a real person is speaking with asking "can we cound on your support" and other sophisticated tech. Seems like phony charities will be the thing this year. Haven't had a credit card call in a long time.

Called again today, cannot recognize this number. How did they get my supposedly unlisted number?

I called HIM back and he better f****n stop it, a***ipe. I heard his voice, he sounds like an outdoorsman.

I also just got a call from this number. No idea who it is. Did not pick up. They have called here a few other times.

This caller called at 7 p.m. and did not leave a message. Suspicious...
