Got a call this morning saying he was my mother's nephew. When asked his name he kept repeating my mother's name. When he was told my mother has no nephews he quickly hung up

My parents got a call saying can I talk to your husband and my mom said to give him her his name but he just said let me talk to my too because he was going to give him a surprise and from there my mom said I'm going to call the cops and he said I don't care call the cops or the FBI and then my mom hung up.

These guys actually got money from my dad pretending to be his nephew calling my dad uncle

This just happened to my mom yesterday. They knew a lot of information about our family even down to the detail of my moms recent leg wound. Vary weird, not sure how they got the info. They called claiming to be a nephew, and they were flying in from Texas and asked for money after a few minutes saying he needed money for the plane ticket. When asked more questions the person became nervous and mad and hung up.

They just called and was speaking Spanish to me, even knew my first name.  I handed the phone to my husband and after a brief conversation the guy hung up.

These guys did the samething to me pretending to know my family and stuff and wanting money be careful guys!!!

Yo tambien recibi una llamada desde el mismo numero, lo que pude notar es que se puso nervioso, y pude oir que hacia muchas preguntas a alguien mas que estaba ahi. Creo sin temor a equivocarme que se trata de una rata de 2 patas, cuidense esas muerden muy duro. Un amigo me dio un consejo y se los comparto: Nunca digas en una llamada que tu no la hiciste las siguientes palabras:   Si, Yes o yo soy, porque pueden estar grabando y luego te pueden estafar o te hacen comprar algo que no quieres y hasta tu identidad te pueden robar.

My parents just got a call from this number 331-080-6144 and it's a complete fraud. Be careful who you give addititional information.

These people actually got money from my mom.
They were pretending to be my cousin from mexico.
They knew a lot if info.

The guy was hispanic because he spoke to my father. Also he asked for a money order to the name of "Carlos Gomez Avila". More info as i find out more.

yeah i just received the call too. but the person had a lot of our info and knew my family very well. so they are getting better at getting peoples info. i will keep you guys updated on what happens

I received a call yesterday also claiming to be my nephew, said he was flying out to la n needed me to pick him up .but when I asked who's your father and grandfather. He seemed a little upset n said I thought I was welcomed at your house. I haven't seen my family in a long time thats why I was confused. He didnt answer my question n said ill leave in 30 minutes n hung. I havent recieved anymore calls. So always question them n dont give out names.

i had the same issue yesterday i recommend that u file a police report so the more people file the more pressed the police are to find him be very careful its weird how much info these crooks know

We got a call from this number a while ago. The caller ID read "Illinois 331-080-6144 ". I answered and he told us that he was from the "[mylastname] family". I don't really know much of my relatives so I thought it was just one of my relatives from Illinois (we have a lot of family there).

I gave the phone to my mom and he told her that his name was "Ricardo" and that he was a family relative of one of our close relatives. And at one point he asked for our address and my mom gave it to him. He said he was the son of [otherrelativename]. And that's when my moms concerns were starting to spark. Because [otherrelativename] didn't have a son named Ricardo. My mom started asking him questions. After 2 minutes of asking him questions he was clearly getting irritated and agitated, He hung up after a short while.

My mom then called the person that "Ricardo" had mentioned he was part of the family, to make sure she herself wasn't mistaken. After speaking with our [otherrelativename] they said they didn't know a person named Ricardo.

So be extremely careful to who you give your address to. I don't know what's going to happen to us because we gave him our address. Should we make a report to the police? Does this happen a lot? I don't know.
