Aunt received call telling her it was me, How caller got my name and related to my aunt, and indicating I had been involved in an accident, having hit a child. Caller asked for money directing aunt to go to Walmart and send money. They make it so believable. Crooks.

The scammer may speak Spanish, and may target Hispanics in the USA. He attempts to convince the called person that he is a relative, and will be visiting for a few days. If the called party expresses any interest, the scammer promises to call back. When the scammer calls back, he tells the called party that something happened - he ran out of gas, or was stopped by the police, or is being held at the airport, or needs money for some other reason -- he wants you to wire the money to him immediately.

If you send money, it will disappear, along with the "relative".

GOT A CALL TODAY 04/24/14 FROM THIS NUMBER !!!! TOLD MY GRANDMA IT WAS HER NEPHEW THAT HE GOT INTO WRECK COMING FROM DALLAS TX AND ASKED HER IF SHE HAD EATEN CAUSE HE WANTED TO TAKE HER OUT, HE ASKED IF SHE KNEW WHO HE WAS AND MY GRANDMA IS 74 SHE DOESNT REALLY REMEMBER ANYONE SO SHE OF COURSE SAID ONE OF HER NEPHEWS NAMES OF COURSE HE SAID YES! ASKED HER FOR HER BANK ACCT! OR IF SHE CAN SEND HIM MONEY.SAID HE WOULD CALL BACK LATER!!! WE CALLED IT BACK AND ITS NOT WORKING.

My Mom just got a call from this number and They called her saying that our cousins from Mexico were trying to cross at the border in Laredo and they were stopped cause he didn't report $23,000 so they were asking her to send $1,000.00 via Western Union for heaven knows what. Good thing my brother Tom listened in on the other phone and we all had to convince her that it was someone trying to scam her out of $1,000.00. She called the real cousins in San Luis and they were home.
So please DONT SEND  MONEY! Or give your personal information out!!!!!

This number called saying they were my nephew and he got in a car accident said his name was Freddy and to send him 1300 from michocana in San Antonio,tx do not give no money

this number called my mom in san antonio, texas. he said he was her cousin. he called twice. 1st time my sister answered and he got angry from the questions and cussed my sister. he called again, my mom answered, he knew her name and her home address. he implied he was a cousin coming to visit her and got angry when she said she started to insist on names...

My mother received a call from a man claiming to be her nephew saying that he was in an accident and he needed to have wired $1500 to two different lawyers in Guad, Mexico, but once I asked who his father was, he hung up

(331)381-5131 is still at it.They called me saying that my nephew was in Mexico trying to board a plane and he was stopped because he didn't report $28,000 and even put an alleged Mexican government official on his phone that asked me to send $1,000 to two different lawyers in Mexico via Western Union. When asked what his wife's name was he tried to play the you don't trust me card and couldn't name her. Hung up never got another call.

They called me saying that my cousin was in Mexico trying to board a plane and he was stopped bc he didn't report $28,000 so they were asking me to send $900 to a Giorgina Torres Jimenez, and another $900 to a Lorena Ruelas Orozco via Western Union and they also gave me these other names Pedro Figueroa Diaz and Miguel Angel Lopez also wanting $900 each send to Guanajuato , Jalisco Mexico then they started saying that he was arrested bc he had accidentally  bumped into a girl and she had rolled down the airport stairs and was in critical condition and they also wanted $1400 to pay the girls fees, at the end of it all I told him that if he didn't stop calling me I would report him and he stopped . So please DONT SEND NO MONEY! Or give your personal information.

My parents, both in their 80's, received a call from a Spanish speaking man who claimed to be their nephew. He knew my parents first name and exact address.  He told my mother that he was on his way to visit her and that on his way he was in a car accident. He asked my mother for $5,000.00. He said it was to pay the other driver cash out right to avoid involving the insurance company. Luckily, my mother caught on and realized this was not her nephew but a true scam. It's scary to know that he had correct names of our family members and addresses.  We tried calling the number back but this number does not receive calls. Please beware for this is a terrible scam.

I just received a phone call from this number 331-3815131stating he was my "nephew". Asking for 500.00. That he was in mexico,DF AND HAD A LITTLE PROBLEM GETTING on the PLANE. He needed money to pay for taxes because he dint report the money he had with him. I did put the money by wester nunion under KARLA ZERME?O RODRIGURZ in IRAPUATO,GUANAJUATO. thank God I never gave the pin. This is a another number they gave me 333-359-9380. Scary to know all the information they have about me and my family..

i got a call from this number and the guy told me (in spanish) that he was my nephew but never gave his name. He knew some of my personal information. I knew immediately that the man was a fraud because my nephews do not speak spanish. DO NOT ANSWER THIS CALL AND DO NOT EVER SEND THEM MONEY

I got a called from the same number (331) 381-5131,,,,  saying that he was my nephew and that he was at the airport having trouble to get in the plane, so I send him $6,000 dollars in 6 different payment methods. But my surprise was that it was a fraud because I later on called my nephew and he  Please do not answer any called from this freaking number.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND MONEY TO ANYONE asking for help in Mexico....

I rec''d a phone call and wanted to know how I was and stated I was his Uncle and he was from the Valley.  Strange thing is that he asked for direction on how to get to San Antonio.  He the called my wife and when she asked further questions he hang up on her.  I am going to contact the San Antonio Police Dept to file a report.

This is a type of "grandparent scam" in a way.. only insert a relative, and substitute they conveniently have a accident or some such incident that requires money to be sent..

This number has been calling claiming to be my nephew but can never say who he is. All he wants to do is scam you. Be careful.

Thanks for this site! We just got this number calling us too just a few minutes ago, and I went looking for something on the internet. They refused to give us their names, but claimed they were relatives from the suburbs. What was scary was that they knew our names. We tried calling bk the number, but it was not a working number! Any advice on what to do or how to get this reported?

If this Bum calls again just star 68 the phone number to stop him from calling you on this number again.I hope this helps and makes this Bum look for a job instead of scamming.

my wife rescived a call from 331 -381 -5131 and someone called lic miguel angel saying that my cusin was coming from mexico to illinois and that needed 1400 dollars because he had problemssince hadn't reported the money he had .So we needed tosend the 1400 dolars to reynosa Taumalipas a biendo casa paisano in the name of Ana graciela

This person called asking if I remembered him. Cousin from Mexico, kept asking for names. I didn't provide any info and then he just hung up.

Called me and the guy knew my last name. He kept claiming he was a cousin, but couldn't say exacally what one. He kept on asking for more names of family members. I didn't want to give him any information, because he sounded way to suspecisous, and he said he'll call back.

Called me and knew my name. And asked  if i knew who he was . Weird, i called a family member and knew it was bs. So i googled and brought me here.
