Wow we were dumb, we fell for this scam and sent $3000 before we figured out it as a lie.  They wanted $6000 more, involving moneygream.   Anything we can do?

I just received The same kind of call starting yesterday. He just called this morning , from the same number. Stupid me thinking it was my friend i gave him my cell number. Please Dont answer the phone.

I got a call yesterday from a different number but same area code. EXACT SAME METHOD. He said he was my cousin from Mexico coming to visit. He said my name and mentioned details that were quite convincing. I hadn't seen my cousins from Mexico in years, so I thought it was him. Yes, he will take you in circles until you say any name. Which ever name you blab out, he will say you guessed right. Believing that was my cousin, I went ahead and gave him my cell number. He called the next day in the morning saying that he's stuck at Mexican customs in Mexicali and needed cash because customs were charging him a big free. A lady claiming to be a Mexican customs agent got on the phone, explained the situation, and asked that I wire $600 via Money Gram to get my cousin out of the situation. I've read in the past that Nigerian scammers like to use Western Union and Money Gram for scams, so when she said Money Gram, alarms went off in my head. I called family in Mexico and they told me that my cousin was at work! Half an hour later, the same lady called asking if I had wired the money. I said no that I wanted to speak to my "cousin". She gave the phone to my fake cousin, and I told him that before that his brother wanted to speak to him. He hung up and never called my cell back again. I tried calling back, but there's no ring. They know what they're doing and seem to take notes as you talk to recall information. They also seem to be preying on hispanic families. Watch out.

Called (in Spanish) and said he was a cousin from out of state, but he wouldn't give me his name. He kept insisting for me to guess his name but I wouldn't. I handed the phone to my dad and again he insisted he was our relative from out of state. Since we wouldn't play along and try to guess who he was, he hung up. I'm sure that as soon as we would have mentioned a name he would have said that was him and he would have asked us for money///Nos hablo y dijo que era un primo de otro estado. Insistia que adibinaramos su nombre pero no lo ise. Le pase el telefono a mi papa y insistia que adibinaramos su nombre. Cuando se dio cuenta que no ibamos a seguir su juego, mejor colgo. Estoy segura que en cuanto le ubieramos dado un nombre, ubiera dicho que era esa persona y nos ubiera pedido dinero.

I just got a call from this guy too. Wonder how he picked up my number, but after realizing I don't speak spanish, I think he hung up.

It's a scam! Please be carefull!!! I received the same phone call today. I was in doubt and looked up the number online and came across this website. He can claimed to be a family member and stated his name was Jose. He kept assisiting that he was family. He spoke perfect spanish & english! He only takes you around in circle so you can name your own family members and claims he wants to cash in your favor from years ago to stay at your home. I continue to ask him for his name and he finally gave up and hung up on me. These scammers are preying on hipanic names listed in the phone book. PLEASE JUST HANG UP & REPORT THIS TO YOUR LOCAL POLICE! HOpefully they can catch these people.

Just got the same call. It really freaked me out. "Felicia, Felicia. It's your cousin from Mexico, you haven't seen me in a long time. Can you guess who I am?" I only said 1 name cause I really doubted it, I don't speak to any of them & only 1 I think would speak english that well & he played along an then asked me if he could stay with me. I said sorry no, but who else are you seeing when up, his response was, "Everybody, can I get your cell to call you when I cross?" Sorry, can't even name 1 person I totally doubt any part of this, so I 'accidently' hung up. Too freaking weird. seriously my name and address? Scary.

this guy call  another  family member saying he is an nephew that was going to come to work in chicago. but  the family member said to me. when he did call me he asked for $1000. but then we fund out that he was never who he really is. and the number is near us.

I got the same call from this wise guy. It makes me sick how confident he thinks he is that he knew me. I made sure I reported on this idiot! He's so broke can't even get a job that he tries to rip people off. He speaks english and spanish.

I got a call on Tuesday afternoon to my home phone. It was a guy stating I was his aunt. I said I don't know who you are. He said I'm from Mexico. Guess who I am I said I don't know. I only have cousins down in Mexico. He said he was coming to Tx. to purchase used cars. He said I am Juan Manuel. I do recall having a cousin with that name. He said give me your address and cell. Stupid me believed it was him. The next day he called me and my husband asking for $500. I said no I can't I don't know if it is really you. Another guy got the phone and said are you sending him the money.He told my husband he was in an accident. I have talked to the police about this issue. They said it is a scam and we will be watching your home. This people need to be stopped.
